Whew...
almost the end of another week of acting. This one was more hectic though b/c Nick wasn't in class. So we'd spend the day at the Franklin Park Conservatory, or the zoo, or the science museum. Today was the science museum and I've NEVER seen it that busy (mind you, they just cut hours and took away huge exhibits b/c they were hurting for money) My parents just stopped by with their camper...they're camping about 25 minutes from here and tomorrow will come to join the us to watch KT's performance, then the kids will go camping with them all weekend. Because we are so close, we'll go for dinners and campfires, but the rest of the time I plan to veg to get ready for NEXT week's acting classes. ;)

Been trying to keep up with the thread as best I can, just not a lot of time to participate. I just looked at the clock and realized I have to make dinner. Hmmmm....it's gonna have to be quick b/c we have haircuts tonight.

going down to dig in the freezer! :)

Kevin... I think that's a hint... I have a very hard time believing that you haven't given her ANY idea what to get you for your birthday... then again, you're probably one of those guys who buys things that YOU like 2 weeks before your birthday, Christmas, or any other gift-giving holiday, rather than drop the hint and wait patiently. Hmm... why do I know that type??? Oh, that's right, I've got one of those too.
Yep, you guessed it. I had wanted a GPS, but already got one of those.

Dive stuff is always good, but its has to be very specific dive gear..... An Apeks DS4 primary regulator with a ATX50 second would be nice!!

I know!! A cruise!!! :jumping1:

You mean besides the fact that he thinks I'm crazy for spending so much time online conversing with people that I "don't know"...:rotfl:

Yup, besides that!

I just noticed we are just 94 posts from 12,000!

Are we going to make it? Maybe if we get all the non-posting spouses to show up.......

I have a request. Only a few of us have spouses or SO's posting here. Most of you have "mystery spouses". How about "introducing" them? What they do, what their personality is like, what they want to do on the cruise. No details they would get mad about, but hey, they should read the thread too! :rotfl:

My DH Bruce thinks I'm obsessed with Disney & am crazy for it!

As for his likes/dislikes, etc. He's a runner ... any other runners out there? He's the 1/2 marathon type. On weekends he goes for long (1.5-2 hour) runs. His personality ... anal! We're opposites when it comes to that! What he wants to do on the cruise (or any other vacation for that matter) ... just veg out!!! We're so opposite on that aspect too - I like to be doing something at all times, unless of course I'm lounging by the pool or on a beach ... and both of those are things he hates!

Man, that makes it sound like we're not very compatible.

Where are the fluff-producers when we need them??? :confused3

What? Where? Don't know what you could be talking about...

Honey - you have 89 posts on this thread. I don't think you qualify as a non-posting spouse.

Maybe a seldom posting spouse though - so thanks for posting!

Woo hoo - sharing a top with my honey!

Hi All - This is Sue aka dobelover, posting under CodyJ. Where is everyone tonight.

OK... my 'mystery spouse'... well... he's not a mystery to me...

Ray...

what he does... Event Services Manager for VERY large sports venue

what his personality is like... Intense. Type A, but still lots of fun. Coaches Pop Warner football, rides a Harley, loves cycling, though doesn't do it as much as he used to. He's a great cook, and never met a dish that he wouldn't try to recreate at home.

what he wants to do on the cruise... Relax, relax, relax... once we get off the ship when the cruise is over, he's into 'crunch time' at work, so I'm sure he'll do as little as possible. Snorkeling & a massage will probably be the extent of his cruise activities.

Okay, I'll play this game.....
Although I talk so much, there probably isn't much you DON'T know.
DH's name is Jay, he is also my boss. I should say, we work together. Works well for us.
I do all the books, and he is a welder and a blacksmith. We do everything "steel" (and copper, etc) from structural steel, like I-Beams, to ornamental iron works, such as spiral staircases, tables, pot racks, fireplace screens....you name it, we can do it. Oops...HE can do it...I can mail you a bill for it!
He's a really quiet guy, but has a great sense of humor once he gets to know people. He has a grumpy look about him, but he's just serious most of the time. A former Marine....and former prison guard...so he's pretty good at giving orders.
He loves archeology, and has gone on several digs, loves history, and anything that has to do with "building". We have a sand buggy (dune buggy) that he used to take off in all the time...but that was B.C. ....before children.
He's 8 years older than I am, had never been married when I met him, shortly after my divorce...and I had my Megan. It was HIS idea to have the younger two....I wanted to go dancing. (that's a joke ;) )
On the cruise....he's more than happy to sit on the verandah and read a book....never misses a meal with our regular servers (won't go to Palo out of loyalty to our servers)......enjoys going to see any kind of "old" thing, ruins, forts, museums, me....and of course snorkeling. He liked going to the clubs, wants us to play Match Your Mate....but has seen the stage shows once, and that was enough for him.
You'll never see him on the boards....he doesn't even know how to turn on the computer, and doesn't want to know. He makes a wicked chicken curry.
I guess that about sums him up, and then some!

Switching back was painful. Scoopie popped up, man does that confuse me. I am laughing about posting info about Jeanne aka Mom and Elizabeth aka sis aka CodyJ as my so's. Especially since Elizabeth and I have been together since Sunday!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope her hubby has as much fun as I am having.

Sue

OK, so you wanna know a little bit about my DH(the non-poster). Let's see....where shall I start????

His name is Augie, and yes, he's heard about Augie Doggie all his life. He hates food that is green, might have been green, or were green at one time. He's a union plumber. Building me a house right about now. He's 6'2" tall(I married him for his legs, since I don't have any I thought it would give our kids a fighting chance to be tall). He's not INTO anything specific. We used to be into NASCAR, going to races and all, but that was before the children. He's a great guy and sometimes I just don't know how or why he puts up with me. Must be love  . He thinks I'm crazy for being on these boards. I don't think he quite understands. I wish he would join us, but now he doesn't even get to eat dinner until around 10:00pm and then passes out on his chair. Too busy with the house. But whenever he comes upstairs and I'm in the computer room, he'll just peek in and ask if I'm on "the boards". My reply, "Of course". He also thinks I'm crazy taking on the "T-shirt" ordering, but he knows me too well. I'm the organizing type. Plus, it's a great way to break the ice with all of you.

On the cruise: He will probably veg out. Not much of a dancer,
s-l-o-w dancing is more his speed. He likes the beach. He likes to drink 7&7(in our house we just call them 14's, sometimes they're a 28--get it?). Loves American History and is a WIZ at Jeopardy. Any brainiacs out there?

I hope that paints a little picture for ya. Dont' worry, in 10 more months you'll meet him. I can't wait.

TTFN,
Maria

Aaaah, you all are sweet. You're writing about your hunnies like you love them or something. I'm enjoying reading this, thanks!

Maria, I am 5'4", long torso, short legs. Kevin is 6', all legs. When we sit next to each other, we are the same height. I think Alicia is a mix of the two of us, so she's sort of in proportion! But I was hoping for taller, she's still got time. She's taller than me now, at least.

Sue, I thought of you when I wrote that post. Yes, we'd like to hear about your family members, too! Though some of our group already know your Mom pretty well.

Thank you, Kevin....I was hoping you'd let that remark of mine slip by....(Jay likes old things):rotfl:
