5/27/06 "Il pochi il fiero i blabbermouths" We *will* sail again Part 3

It's on our schedule as well, along with pick up your schedules Aug 2 from 4-6pm. That's when the "dreaded" PE shorts have to be purchased. They have to wear PE uniforms in Middle School and unless they have gotten "brighter" over since last year, Lisa is going to be in trouble. I guess they have never heard of "little" 6th grade girls who wear size 6 (that's a children's 6). (KT where are you when Lisa needs you!!!) The shorts are going to be capri's on her. I guess I will have to use those sewing skills to alter them (if they will allow it).

Yep- that's on the calendar too! Lisa really is tiny, isn't she! Elizabeth is almost as tall as me, is on the verge of stealing my size 9 shoes (she's only a size away!!), and my t-shirts are slowly migrating into her room...

Our kids P.E. uniforms are shorts (think basketball shorts) and a t-shirt....the shorts go practically to Jared's ankles (and he's 5'5") .....I can't imagine how they'd hang on Lisa! Yikes! They HAVE to let you alter them....you pay for them!
Did anyone else have to wear the one-piece prison-looking jumpsuit for P.E. like I did when I was in school? Snap up the front, dirty grey....horrid!

Ours were green striped... the kind of little stripes that make you dizzy if you look at them...

I'm gonna leave it up to you left-coasters to make it to 10K tonight... it's 10:37, and the race JUST started... I'm going to watch it from the comfort of my bed... I probably won't see more than 10 laps or so!!! (Ray should get home some time around 4AM, I think... ssshhhhhhh... don't wake me... or the dog...)

Whoa, 4am! That's one weird job there girl. I understand the mission, but that is too late for the likes of me.

It's a good thing we remodel peoples homes. No one wants you on the job until those hours.

Is the camp suppling funding for this project? It sounds like it could get VERY expensive. But, good for you Karen helping to make this camp a very "memorable" one for all of the campers.

They have told me twice to save receipts. There are some things I cannot charge them for---durable goods that I will use for years. Now that it's up to 50 girls, I think I'll mark the paper products on the receipts and turn those in...but AFTER camp....too busy now. Just took a quick break from cutting tent die cuts

I haven't even STARTED packing for myself or the kids. And this is all new ground. We have very explicit packing lists for Disney or a cruise, ...or even a weekend in my parents trailer...but this is new territory. Right now we have our 10 gallons of drinking water in the garage....check that off the packing list!

I got to meet Matt´s CR family. They are great people and have already invited him back for next year, assuming he is not in Europe.

I am standing in the hotel lobby so can´t read today´s posts. Tomorrow we are off to Arenal volcano area for a 3 hour zip line tour.

I do like to shop... but Elizabeth is becoming the queen of shopping... she asked today when we can go school shopping... ugh... it's July 2!!!!!

Speaking of July 2nd. My parents are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary today!!!! WOW!

What? You're WHERE???? El Paso? No way!! I saw you safely locked in a cabinet today at the Culvers in Hilliard, Ohio. Pointed you out to the kids and said "that's who is coming to spend some time with us in January." It was either you or your EVIL TWIN!!

Ah yes. Little 6th graders. KT's camp counselor called today and asked if there was anything she needed to know about KT for camp...

Yes....the Friday of camp is her 11th birthday. And...she's small for her age and please watch her as she's sailing down the river in a canoe!! She doesn't have much of a powerstroke.

I'll bet her camp issued tee shirt will be down to her knees!!!

Oh my!! That was my nursing school uniform!! Light green with dark green pin stripes....150% polyester!! Patients would complain as I tried to help them that my outfit was making them dizzy!!

I am going tomorrow to start looking for Ashley middle school clothes. She is very tall and very small. She can still wear her size 7 shorts, skirts, etc., however, She is so tall, that anything that requires length is way too short. I want to go find capris that she can wear (tan) before they are all gone. When you have to find those small hard to fit sizes, things tend to run out of stock very fast. We don't know yet about the PE stuff. It used to be navy blue knit shorts and grey & burgandy shirts you bought from the school. Of course, they have not sent us anything yet for clothing requirements.
