Hi Everyone!!!

It's me, Scoopie. I'm here in the BIG APPLE and having a blast! AJ and Anthony are taking very good care of me. I can't wait to go to Niagara Falls and see my first Yankee game in Canada. I'll keep you posted as my new venture in NY unfolds(pictures to follow).

Scoopie

Scoopie! Nice to see you posting. You have been one busy cone! Enjoy NY and Niagra Falls. Don't forget you get to meet up with Bear in less than 5 weeks for the Member Cruise. Of course you'll just be coming off two weeks of cruising on the Magic, but we're taking over the Wonder. See you then!

Amanda,

What part of Texas did you come through. We are far west Texas and if I recalled you said you were going through Amarillo.
OK good now I dont feel to bad we were mostly thru north east TX, we had to go thru Dallas......

I am beginning to wonder if my house will ever be clean. We have been gone for 2 weeks and it is still dirty......

Nope, sorry I had to clean out mine it's going in the shop tomorrow - it's a 1 1/2 yr old convertible beetle (really easy to clean out when you're doing 65 with the top down :teeth: ) and I've had it in the shop for repairs about every 8 weeks. This trip, the airbag light is on, the vents are blowing hot air when positioned on cool, and the left front turn signal is burnt out again...and the scheduled oil change. As much as I love my bug - if it's still having problems at the end of the warranty, it's going...I'm getting really frustrated.

Off to soccer practice - pool closed because of thunder but, once again it's perfectly sunny - no hope of soccer being cancelled here...

Sorry to hear about your problems with the VW. Sharon has one and we have had it to the garage one time for service. It's almost 3 years old. Lucky I guess.

! I am so glad that Jim and Kev brought that discussion into this thread, becasue it made our trip so much easier!

Thanks. That is not something that we hear very often. :cool1:

TOP!

(English version will be in red tonight)

Kevin, I talked to Red (he is my dive instructor and buddy) tonight. His double dip (two dives) on SG (Spiegel Grove) on Saturday were a no go (He could not dive them). They got out there, but the mooring balls (what they tie the dive boat to) were underwater (not on the surface which means the current was strong enough to pull the balls under water.)

He went back out on Sunday and was able to dive it. There was still a strong current which made it a tough dive. They could not get out of the current. He was able to penetrate it (keep it clean. we already covered this.) and that was great.

He dove a 34% mix (that is the % of oxygen which gives us more bottom time) and we will have the same. The bottom line is that if the current is weak, it is a great dive. With a strong current it is pretty technical (hard) because there is no real place to hide from it.

He talked to the dive shop and cleared Matt with them. With us coming down on Friday he might join us. Someone can sleep on the floor, I hope you don't mind. He won't know until Thursday.

Well - we're here at Vero Beach.... We really like it so far... the weather has been HOT and humid - with daily thunderstorms....

Hard to get on the lousy internet connection here - so I doubt I'll be on again until later in the week....

First thoughts about VB - very nice, well done, good staff, good food. We didn't like the paper plates and bowls in the rooms.........

Lauren is going out in the morning with the Sea Turtle Troop.... Hopefully they'll get to count a nest that hatched overnight.....

What a great time we had at WDW - it was so nice seeing everybody.... Enjoyed Soarin.... and the Test Track at Epcot - bought APs... so now we have even more of an excuse to return soon.....

Shared a nice bottle of a Meritage with Jim at Spoodles.... Glad that there is someone to drink reds besides Banfi with me....

It is nice to have friends like these - to those of you who are still lurking... or are still unsure of meeting up with the rest of the crazies.... These are friendships and memories that will last a lifetime.....

Take care.... Be back when I have real internet as the connection here is bad.....

I have heard reports of the Bibb and the Duane with equally wicked currents this last weekend as well.

We will, of course, have perfect weather and conditions for our dives on the SP!!

Which mooring ball did the use?? I would like to go down #6 which is at the wheel house. Maybe we can ask for that one.

We are in a two bedroom suite with a pull out sleeper sofa, so nobody has to sleep on the couch. I do, of course have dibs on the Master Bedroom!! :teeth:

Great to hear you like Vero! We will be staying there for a few days before the cruise!:teeth: I can't wait!

Virgil, you are SO right about the fun times with great folks!! We have never had some much fun with vacations as we have the last few, since we have participated in the DIS boards and gone off to meet folks. Heck, we have even made some great dive buddies as well!!

The crazy remark, I don't get.......... guess it takes one to know one, heh? :rotfl2:

Virgil - glad you are having a good time at Vero Beach. We've only been there the one night but plan to go back. I take it you are in either an Inn room or Studio. All the others should have real plates etc.

Jim - thanks for the edited version of your note. It helped a lot!

Ooooh Monica I did not know you had a bug! I think they are so cute! But I wasnt talking about my vehicle, my DH cleaned it out last night. I was talking about my house. I do not have a dining table right now, as it is covered with stuff.....stuff that I have no idea where to even START putting it!

I wish my house was as easy to clean as my bug...

When Mary and I talk new beetles, we have some code...

A standard bug is a plain vanilla.

One with a with a rear spoiler below the glass has a handle(early ones had an optional one that looked like a handle).

One with the spoiler above the glass has turbonium(from an early VW commercial)

One with a sunroof has a lobotomy.

One with a convertible top has a toupee..

So where does your bug fit in that, hm?

:flower1: Good morning cruisers! :flower1:

Happy Tuesday!

Hope everyone has a great day today! Can't wait for everyone to get back from WDW so we can see pictures and get more details.

As Mark said we are in major planning mode right now for our road trip down to WDW and the Member Cruise.

Good Morning All - Miss Utility didn't mark my underground cable correctly so the work has stopped. That is a shame since my contractor has the equipment here, idle. And it is going to get hotter and more humid as the week goes on.

Sounds like you will have to spend some time at the corner pub today.

Sue - you are so formal out in Maryland. We just call Julie to mark our underground utilities.

Hope it gets fixed fast!
