What is the official name of Banfi? I, too am a virgin and would like to try it out. Not a red wine drinker, but I am feeling adventurous with this weather.
Champagne, Banfi Rosa Regale. Very nice, sweet with a wonderful fruity bouquet! :drinking1

Tinksdad - Thanks. OH....champagne!! I'm not a big fan of champagne, but I'll give it a try. Is this the chosen drink of the Double scoopers?

Well...gotta go to work now. Have a great one.

The series of events:

Last October, Diana and I (Alicia too) were in DW for the Wine and Food Festival. Something, we have always wanted to do. Jim and Sharon (scuba diver, et all) met us there and we had a GREAT time looking around, tasting the foods of the worlds in the booths.
In Italy they had a booth with Flour-less Chocolate Hazelnut Cake and also had Banfi. We tried it and WHOA!! the combination was superb! The melting of tastes, the sensations were very enjoyable. Needless to say (but I will) we had several more "tastings" of the combo.
We talked it up for the December Christmas cruise and Jim with the help of his DD carried several bottles on board for the cruise. Turned out that they sold the Banfi on board as well. AND, it goes very nicely with just about every thing tried with it. Just ask Stacey!! :earseek:

I guess you could say it is the unofficial drink of the Disney Cruisers around here! We truly love it's diversity with all things. Besides that, it tastes good!!

I'm not a big fan of champagne as a general rule, but I think you will like this stuff!

Sold!! I'll have to get some. The wine tasting at WDW is at what time of the year? Last year we went to the International Food festival in October....OMG the lamb chops at New Zealand were to die for. Everything was fantastic.

I will post when I am not a VIRGIN anymore..teehee

Talk to you soon.

maria

Maria,

I don't know if you saw my post a few pages back. I tried Banfi this weekend. It was great with the chocolate truffle pie with raspberry sauce that I made. I posted a link to Kraft's website for the recipe.

They have some pretty interesting wine and food pairings during the same time. Pretty pricey though, and they get sold out very fast! We considered it, but had a wonderful time just at the general activities.

We liked the lamb chops too! :mickeybar

Maria, you were there! The Food & WINE Festival at WDW is all of October through mid-Nov. these days. Very popular event. Each booth had wine that went with their offerings, and there were spots like the Australia booth where you could just drink wine. The chocolate and champagne booth was in Italy. We really were not sparkling wine fans before that either.

Can't wait to go back to the F&W, one of our favorite trips. Nice weather, low crowds, Mickey's Halloween party, and lots of fun things to try at F&W. And of course, Dive Quest with the Scubas!

I have actually developed a very unpleasant side effect to drinking red wine, and Banfi causes a slight case of it. The sacrifices we make...

Just in case anyone visits FL soon. My other favorite wine at the F&W was the Coconut wine at the FL booth, from a winery in the Tampa area. Whose name I've forgotten, but you can only buy it in FL (they don't ship out of state). Jim, what's the name?

Oooh... sounds good... and sounds like a great reason for a quick road trip to Tampa!

Pina Colada - Coco Polada Wine

you can Go Here and order your own!! You too, can be in a Jimmy Buffet state of mind!

We just have to figure out what to do with DD........ school and all.

I suggested that we leave her at home, but that didn't go over well. :rotfl:

BTW - I have not forgotten about the picture you need from Epcot. We have not been there recently. To busy going everywhere else on the weekends.

No biggie, as long as we get it a bit before (to get the shirt done) the May trip I'm happy!

Thanks,

Hi everybody. Sure has been a crazy week after being off for Spring Break. Now tomorrow is supposed to be another holiday (Cesar Chavez Day) and I am not supposed to go to work, but I plan on going in for a few hours before meeting a few of my girlfriends for a Margarita Lunch at noon. Have to be up early anyway, because DS has to be at school tomorrow at 6:45 a.m., so what the heck.

I have a question, how does everyone put the picture in their signature. I tried it once and it didn't work.:confused3

Thanks,

Pam

Hey Pam,

The picture needs to be on the internet somewhere. Either on a personal account, a picture site or somewhere with a url.
Find the url for the picture, right click on it and check the properties, copy the url and then insert that into your
"
" in your sig file. (remove quotes to work)

I make sure the image size is fairly small, no bigger than 200 pixels square.
hope that help.

Howdy ho!

Been able to lurk here, but hardly have time to post. Busy with school and FUN (now that the Beast has found another home) Actually, she's moving to Michigan, so chances are we will NEVER see her again!

Mike's eyes are about status quo. Slight improvements in the left eye but now slightly higher pressures in the right eye.

Carry on....just wanted to say hi! :)

Kevin -- so if you don't have your pictures on an internet site, you can't do it, is that right? We don't have any of our pictures on the web, so I guess I won't be doing that.

Thanks anyway

Pam
