Oh oh... sounds like 'fuzzy math'...

I like that - 10 days sooner on the boat!!!

Good thing my dad doesn't read the boards and I'll have to check them on stealth...- he's a retired h.s. math teacher. He'll start the "always double check your work" lecture :rotfl:

I found it - 3/3 I wrote 449 days - 3/4 458 - time's passing slowly but not THAT slowly!!!

I miss the old countdown!!!

442 days sounds about right. I can wait that long, as long as I have a couple of other trips to look forward to in the interim.

So Alicia has been invited to go to NY this summer with another lady whose son made the semi-finals at the dance comp. They will pay her way if she helps out with the two younger kids. That's all I know so far. She could do the semi-final dance number and do her solo. But I don't want my baby to go to NY without me! It's too far, and too big, and too scary.

Apologies to anyone here that is from NY.

You can be brave and let her go. Lisa travel's to Waverly Texas each summer for Gymnastics Camp. She has gone since she was six (she travels with her Coach & teammates). She doesn't even miss us. I ask her to call me at least once. That doesn't always happen and if she does call if the fastest call she makes all year. Hi, I'm having a great time - Bye.

Happy Thursday!

Mary,

Since we all seem to miss the countdown timer, would you be willing to add one to your website? I was doing web stuff at work & having to search through JavaScript. I came across JavaScript that will display our countdown timer. I thought your web page would be a good place to put it.

We will have to work on Diana from all angles possible to make that happen!! :confused3 Bet me she ends up going along as well.......

Love ya hon, mean it!

DancinD - What part of NY will she be coming to? Doesn't necessarily have to be NYC. Could be the suburbs which are VERY nice. If you tell me where, maybe I could help you out with the demographics.

Just a thought.

No problem. Should have thought of it myself. We had one on the 10 day page and Mark has one on the Member Cruise page. It has been added. The countdown goes to 5 pm sailaway. Enjoy!

Maria, the event is at the Sheraton New York Hotel & Towers, and that is where she would be staying. Any information you can provide would be appreciated! They would be going July 6-14. That's the longest my kiddo has ever been away from home!

Diana,

Is that in the heart of NY City? Sounds like it. Sounds like a nice hotel - Sheraton. I will ask around. Who will she be staying with and how supervised will they be? NYC is a fast paced city. Lots of people. But, very interesting. Will they be able to do any site seeing? Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building. Is she into any of that? Without bragging too much, it's the center of the world!!! Times Square. Will they get to see a play? What kind of competition is she going for? Fill me in.

from their website:
The lights... the thrills... the drama. Be a part of the NYC spirit at the Sheraton New York Hotel and Towers, located on 7th Avenue between 52nd and 53rd Streets in midtown Manhattan. Just steps from the excitement of Broadway theatres, prestige of Carnegie Hall and world-class shopping of Fifth Avenue - our location is the perfect way to immerse yourself in the best that New York has to offer

Kind of scary, but fun huh? I doubt they will get out much, with the dance event in the same hotel. Might be fun for a mom to tag along, huh?

Thanks for all the well wishes and kind words. I'm back from the icey cold north and now remember why I moved to Florida. 10 degree temps with -5 wind chill (for the high) is not my idea of a good time.

It was nice getting home even though I flew home with a plane full of small children. Flying into Orlando is not the greatest trip around Spring Break.

I'm trying to catch up on all the posts and see I need to get busy and make some reservations for the pre-cruise meet. Hate to say this, but we have to many trips going on during the next few months. Guess we will just have to suffer.

That sounds like a lot of fun for mom to tag along. Has mom ever been to NYC before? It's really, really exciting!! It's in the summer, no snow to worry about. I'm going to a Broadway Play, The Producers, this coming Wednesday and I could get you some literature about what's playing. You'll be about 10 blocks from Times Square. They have matinees. Or, see if you could get tickets to a taping of David Letterman or Montel Williams.

Think about it and let me know.

Maria

Thanks Mary!!! :goodvibes

Now we're all just a click away from seeing how much longer until the cruise. Keep your weekly countdown coming though ... the number of weeks sounds a lot closer than the number of days.

Happy Friday!

Welcome home Jim!

Diana - sounds like a fun trip for you to tag along on.

Well off to read the boards quickly and then off to work I go! Have a great day everyone!

Thanks Mary!!! - Now, I don't have to think about dates in the morning before I finish my coffee!!

My parents finally made it in last night after 3 hour delay out of Chicago - guess, they had snow and poor visability...Couldn't have guessed it by the weather here!!! :sunny:

Have a great day!!!

Yes we had a lovely mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain last night. Fun for the morning commute as well - though mine was not bad.

Well, tonight is the night. Maggie goes back to the breeder. I'm meeting her 1/2 way. Of course, in the last 24 hours she's been a perfect angel. I wanted so much for us to have a dog.....for the kids to have a pal. I envisioned this idyllic scene of them running and playing in the backyard. I tried really really hard to achieve it....but it just hasn't turned out that way. I feel like I've failed Maggie, failed the kids, failed myself. I keep telling myself that in the long run we'll all be happier, even Maggie, but I feel like I'm saying that just to make myself feel better. And then KT goes and writes this letter:

Dear Maggie’s new owner,

Please take good care of Maggie, we will miss her very much. She knows stay very well, so please reinforce it. Her release words are “ALL DONE” in a high pitch excited tone. Please keep in contact. E-mail is homeschoolmom@mailblocks.com. If she is in a field Trial or show please let us know. We’d love to see her. We have pictures of her when she was a puppy if you want some. We would appreciate if you would send us some pictures of her too, from time to time.
<O:p
Sincerely,

KT
{Katie}
<O:p
<O:pP.S. I can send you a list of all the tricks she knows.

My heart is just breaking right now.
