Since Scoopie couldn't go with us on the Mexican Riviera (otherwise engaged), I took along a picture of him.

My Gosh! I didn't know that! Was it everything you hoped for? And I thought you were getting the one with the potty that didn't work.

And, yes, it is a lot more work than it looks. Right, Gunka?

Upgrades are a :wizard: Magical:wizard: thing.....they happen when you least expect them!
The room itself is beautiful. The bad news is that all of the potties worked! LOL
Actually, the only bad thing is that with so much extra space, it really makes packing to go home harder. Way too much room to spread junk around.
And I couldn't get over the fact that there are NINE (yes, nine!) telephones in that room. :confused3 I would have settled for more drawer space.

AND....(listen to the spoiled whiner).....I much prefer the back of the ship now.....much more quiet. Sounded like a herd of elephants overhead everyday. Considering that those suites are supposedly so "special"...you'd think they would have figured out a way to soundproof the ceiling....I think I know now why most cruise lines have their suites way in the front or the back.

BTW.....VIPs don't stay in the Walt and Roy....they have their own VIP rooms elsewhere.

Yeah, especially when you consider the crap I sell. Not worth much at all. KT made more money in one auction than I made in all of mine combined!

My car may finally be done and I'm trying to convince them that the radio they took OUT of my car was MINE (I paid for it) and then maybe I can sell that on ebay.

Here's the deal...we buy a car with a radio/single disc player.
We pay extra for XM to be installed.
They go to install XM and realize it can't be installed unless we have a 6 disc changer. So they install THAT at no cost to me ($600)
And now they say "well, you ARE getting a 6 disc changer for free"

But I don't WANT a six disc changer. I'll have XM and an iPod....who needs to haul around 6 discs.

I'm thinking the original radio is MINE.

I'm typically not unreasonable and I've been VERY patient while they've kept my new car for FOUR days!

Opinions?

They are on deck 8, right? We were upgraded to a 4 on deck 8 once and I hope never to be again. Nothing but noise upstairs. Not worth the extra 3 feet of space.

We have really enjoyed the cabin on the starboard side in back of the rear set of elevators on deck 5. It's quiet, the elevators are far, but the is not the traffic up and down the passage ways like in the center of the ship, and, the the bowling alley is not above us!

Karen (kiki) - you might have said it before but I don't remember. What line did you used to sail with?

We used to sail on Home Lines... the Doric, the Oceanic, and the Atlantic (the latter 2 became the 'Big Red Boats' of the pre-DCL days... which were fun to sail on again so many years later... in fact, Elizabeth is our 'little souvenir' from that one)

When it was Home Lines, it was an 100% Italian crew- phenomenal food and white glove service all around.

I remember getting tired at night, and going back to my room, leaving the door open a little, and our room steward (Armando... we always had the same cabin, same crew every year) would put his chair outside the door and sit there while I slept, so that my parents and older brother and sister could stay out. Times sure have changed!!!

My mom and I used to cruise on the Sitmar line which was also Italian. They really took care of us.

My how times have changed. A deluxe outside room on those ships had one small porthole that you had to stand on a chair to look out of, two twin beds that couldn't be pushed together (not that we wanted them to), a radio with piped in music. No windows in the dining room. Ahhh - but the food and the service were wonderful!

This was it... my favorite cruise ship... sure doesn't look like much now!!!!

I used to love it when they would let me ring the chimes for dinner... (which was every night... it was good to be the only kid on board!!)

Yes but i just did it here among friends. Not on some others posts - now that would have been pot stirring!

Woo Hoo - a top shared with Kevin and Stacey's cat.:)

Two days in a row, got caught in the Jeep by a major thunder storm. Afternoon rain is no fun. It's a perfect morning for Jeeping, just get back before it rains. :umbrella:

Now you need to get the GPS with the Bluetooth interface with the cellphone that will get the weather and traffic!!

for an extra fee, of course!

Great idea. That will give them another thing they can steal from the Jeep.

There's only one small cell of rain on the radar... and I think it's directly over our building! We had some pretty massive lightning here a little while ago... I think there are 2 less trees in the woods out my office window now.

Now I'm curious about that. Will have to go take a look at the deck plans and see if I can figure out where they might be.

Nine phones? Who did they think you wanted to talk to that much? I guess you can call concierge from anywhere, right?

Can you hear me now?

I was thinking more like, Help, I need more toilet paper! The only reason I can think of to have a phone in a bathroom.
