:lmao: Welcome to the club!!! :lmao: I finally finished cleaning the kitchen...Took me 4 days!!! John's about 1/3 way finished with tiling. He did the entryway, family room and kitchen Friday and yesterday. Mike's highlight, learning how to mix cement...

Today's job - cutting tile... After John wakes up from his nap. He was up at 4:00 to shoot a triathlon.

It will look so nice when it's done - unfortunately for John, it's started me thinking about other projects...:scared1:
Larry has the next 2 weeks off. Today was supposed to be installing the tongue and groove ceiling in the den, but it's sooo nice outside. My job is to prime the drywall in the 1/2 bath and pick out what color I want. We also have a bunch of tongue and groove flooring that was in an old outbuilding. After trying to decide what kind of floor to put in our den, Larry remembered the t&g that had been in his shop for a couple of years. Problem solved! I'm going to try my hand at faux finish painting. Don't know how that's going to work.

Hey, Stacey, the islands just north of SA are getting hit by Hurricane Felix. Isn't that where you were thinking of moving that's supposed to be below the hurricane belt? Yikes! I don't think I've seen one this far south. Looks like the hurricane is going to hit the same area of Mexico that got Dean.

Just when I finished cleaning the kitchen, John decided to remove about 16 tiles which don't match the others, they're a shade darker ...:lmao: He's grinding here too!

I just have to keep reminding myself - if he's going to spend all this time on a remodel, it's better that it's done right...

I might as well wait to clean the house, until I'm sure he's totally done. Maybe in about 5-6 years...;) That's my story and I'm sticking to it!!

Yep...Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao. It was just downgraded (for them) to a tropical storm. About once every 15 or so years, they get hit with a bad, bad storm...enough to qualify as a hurricane. But for the most part, they don't even very often get tropical storms. That's why their vegetation is so desert-like.
None of the islands can say "never" as far as hurricanes, but these islands can claim "rarely".

I just tasted Dark Chocolate Dipped Mint Altoids....:woohoo: yum!!!! Just about anything is good with dark chocolate - and these are awesome!!!

I got them for Mike about 6 months ago. He loved them. I don't like mint, so I can't comment on them. Just give me dark chocolate. Or Garrett Popcorn. Which is now gone. (sniff)

:scared1: Oh NO!! The remodeling Snowball!!!:scared1:

It took us two years to do all that we wanted. We've been done now for....oh, I guess 6 or so years....and I told Jay the other night that I would really, really like to re-do our bedroom and bathroom again. I'm sick of the colors.
This was his first response:

And then this:

And then:

Happy Labor Day all....and prayers for those in the path of Felix....

Sam and I are both working today, but we had a great weekend off at Amelia Island last weekend, so no worries our way....

We had a super dive on Saturday, seas were calm and no current...Dove teh Juno Ledge and saw EVERYTHING, it was as if you were in a huge fish bowl...second dive, oh well......it was a dive.

Sunday we had a nice walk on the beach before taking mother to breakfast....and then we went to a Wake, for the Weekly World news....yup, saw Elvis and the Bat Boy. Let me say it was not intended.

Guess where we were....come-on -- Sir Scuba can guess, I bet.

Here is to hoping for a slower week so I can get caught up on the Dis...

What have you all been up to anyway...let me go see....

Time to catch up on the chatting.....a few choice responses...

Jim is mellowing with old age – I don’t think soo…..

New Nikon cameras – oh boy…maybe I will wait for Kevin to replace his and beg for hand-me downs????

Disney – did someone say trips to Disney – better call …..

Dismeets with Bear, Smoothie Dad and Mary…..and the Zoo and the Mall and everything. Great Picture – Mary - thanks for posting and thanks for the Trip report Karen.

Weather – I trust everyone is ok from the floods, and heat waves, hail – oh my!
And we need rain here as well…send some please!
GaRRY – gosh, bad storms your way as well….Best of luck!

Birthdays – Happy 13th Ashley!
Happy birthday Emily!!!

Who has been calling Stacey a Heel???
And Best of luck with the toe Alicia..

Cute pictures all of the kids, um…excuse me, very nice pictures of the young ladies and gentlemen we have on our cruise board, they are growing up.

Hey kids, happy new school year – hee hee hee

KikiKaren, you are in a good profession if you are being driven to drink…or is that driving yourself to drink???

Jordon – love your new haircut…..(and smile).

Hi Ang, I hate cleaning also.

Maggie – good luck with tap…..

Monica – and how is the remodeling coming along?

20th Anniversary Plans – if you end up at WDW Diana – how about you and Kevin booking Chef’s Table and V/A. and if it is not too late, you are not required to wear a skirt at the Vatican, but most women still do. And no, not Neckton….Hawaii maybe….

Baseball..nope not a fan….oh, but it is football season isn’t it….GOOOOOO GATORS….

So what was with the smoke up your way Kiki and Jim last week…we drove through it????

Stacey – surgery on both your feet, I am so sorry………It sounds, rather, well, gross…..and well, hum, intense……Best of luck!
But from future posts, it seems there will be some advantages, your own chefs and maids. And hey, that walker, I think a few lights will help jazz it up, some streamers, beads….but only if you do not want pink sparkles.

As for odd behavior for parents with college age kids, yup, that is odd. Sounds like Mom has some empty nest issues….

New toys are fun, as are new wireless…our entire county is now thinking of going wireless???? We will see.

And did someone mention Margaritas? I have limes…

True confessions, I once sent Sam back down the highway with a big club (axe I think) to complete what the car did not do to a poor critter on the highway. Luckily for the poor critter, it got hit again and was out of its misery by the time Sam made it back to the street…..well, that is what I was told anyway. No, we did not hit it, but we say the hit….

Dum-de-dum-dum….High Noon on the 10th – a red letter day!

I thought someone asked for this…..and I see it was already posted…well, heck, I have cut and pasted it ,,,,I cannot delete it now…..hee hee….

Whew….that was tough…apologies for any major, or minor events I missed…Remind me not to do that again.

Now back to work…

Irene, it would be lovely to spend that week at WDW dining with my spouse. But it is Spring Break. So it would be IF we can get reasonable flights, IF we can get a DVC room, IF we can get dining reservations. We wouldn't dare go to the parks.

Of course, these will be problems wherever we decide to go.

Kevin and Alicia did a photo shoot today, Kevin is practicing his senior photo skills (he has another year). Ask him to post his favorite, when he decides which one it is.

Hey, Stacey, the islands just north of SA are getting hit by Hurricane Felix.

My niece and her boyfriend left Sunday on a cruise that WAS supposed to go to Roatan, Belize & Costa Maya... now they're going to Nassau, Ocho Rios & Turks & Caicos... at least they knew where they were going as they pulled out of port!

Aaahhh...well that makes sense then - we do not venture near the parks during Spring Break either, to say nothing of the other issues, like flights....

Back to square one.....

Just looking at the radar....two cat 5 storms in less than a month.....I cannot imagine....

Just checking in with a quick "hi".....
We've been getting a lot of things done around the house...I guess I've felt motivated because I'll be down for the count for a while. Doesn't matter what the motivation is, just glad to be getting stuff done.

All day and no one is here? Was it something I said? :confused3 My breath, maybe ??

No, the DIS has been down. Mary emailed me and asked me to call Pete and see what was up. I called him and he fixed it for me. :) :lmao:
