I finished on the 21st. Mary, I have heard that JKR wrote the epilogue many years ago so she would have something to aim towards. Many people say her writing has improved greatly since the first book. I'm planning to read the whole lot again, it will be interesting to see if I agree.
Another reason for the epilogue, the story goes, was to keep other writers from picking up her characters and continuing the story from the 7th book.

Alicia and I are leaving for FL in the morning. We'll be at WDW until the 3rd, it's supposed to be nice and muggy for us. Laura and Tori are meeting us. If anyone's going to be in the area, PM Kevin for my cel phone number. We won't have a car.

I feel so bad for my brother and sister-in-law... they have no kids, and have had their black lab since a week after their wedding in 1993... he is sooooooo sick... can't walk, can't eat... they finally gave in and made the difficult decision to send him Home tomorrow. I can't even bear to call my brother (even though I know he's working 2nd shift tonight)... Jack has always been their BABY. (So much so that my sister-in-law has never been away without him... she hasn't even set foot on an airplane since they got him.)

And to make matters worse, my Mom goes for her biopsy in the AM... which means my brother will be even more stressed out. (I'm sure Mom will be fine...)

An hour and a half late leaving Phoenix, but we made it. The weather perfect....cooler than home and it's so peaceful. We ate at a buffet at one of the casinos last night & Mom & I went in and played for a bit. This man came up and was talking to me (nice looking, about my age) and then he said something that I haven't heard in about 25 years....."Do you come here often?" roflol...... Not sure I'll tell Jay about that!Karen......great news about your Mom!! But soooo sorry to hear about your brother & his wife's "baby". That is hard under m9ost circumstances, worse if it's their only "child".Congrats everyone on finishing HP!

Hi Folks, Sam has "taken" the book so he is now reading it....He should be finished soon. I think we shall see the movie this weekend.

I finished most of the AOW book on Tuesday......final test of skills is Saturday.

I need to select one more dive - any ideas....We have Deep, Wreck, Navigation and Drift.....

You passed Navigation, of the remaining, Deep would be my suggestion. Drift is a piece of cake, kind of like Boat diving. Jump off the boat, dive, get back on the boat. Doh!!

Deep is fun to see how the nitrogen loading will affect your mind!!! And you WILL need that info!!

Saturday I thought I would pick up Drift - only 'cause I always dive drift and it is DAH...

So I need something else....Fish ID?, Photo?, Boat? Altitude - does not pass the laugh test. Dry suit, nope....

PS - They did the "test". I feel cheated.

They should have flunked me.

First, I want to do the test at 130...I have been to 100 and do not notice any differences (yeah, they all say that).

My test was a board - point 1-20 on mixed up numbers, so at depth, I pointed from 20-1......Since that was not the instructions, they should have flunked me.

The other was a high school lock that you needed to unlock underwater.

Passed that...after pouring baby shampoo into the lock on the surface since it was rusted shut.

Oh, lookey - a U-Top with Kevin diving....

Mom doesn't have any results, but said the test went ok... she's got about a half a dozen stitches in her head, but said that she didn't feel a thing. The MD said he's 95% sure that his diagnosis was corrrect. She'll know for sure on Monday.

Well... my brother's dog took it upon himself to leave on his terms... he died at 3AM, 'beating them to the punch'. (That's exactly what my beloved daschund did 6 years ago... and I was hoping that Jack would go the same way... weird!) My brother was prettty hysterical this morning... I'm sure its going to be a rough time for them. That really was their 'child'.

So I think its time for some GOOD news in my family this week!!!
