Amanda, we were actually in your neck of the woods last weekend to FINALLY visit my friend Caryn, her husband & kids. I don't think I ever responded when you asked before ... they bought a house in Grandtree. It's very nice. We spent the night with them & went to Callaway Gardens. It was sort of a whirlwind trip for us.

Is your new neighborhood in any of the neighborhoods that you were looking in before? I think you were looking in some of the ones we visited last summer when Caryn was on her house-hunting trip.

once they are awake and arguing, its harder to concentrate! They are SOOOOOO ready to go back to school... before they kill each other!

And ours have not been together this summer long enough to argue.

Yesterday we celebrated Lisa's birthday at Blizzard Beach. At least we were only 2 weeks late. Lisa took 2 friends. It was fun, but a little was lacking for me. No Matt! :guilty:

I guess I am still getting use to the idea that he is only home for 9 more months and then gone forever.

He comes home in three weeks. That will give Lisa and him one week to argue before school starts. :woohoo:

We are off to MCO again today. Blizzard Beach yesterday and Bahama Breeze today.

Today we meet up with Virgil and crew!

Good morning all. Jim -- I know what you mean about them not being around. Dale comes home tonight after being gone only two weeks. I have missed him terribly while he has been gone. All I have thought about is that this time next year he will be getting ready to leave for school and he will really be gone for long periods of time.

Has Matt chosen his college yet?? Dale and I are going to check out Texas A & M on Tuesday. The hardest part about where we live in Texas is that it is so far away from everything else. University of Texas is over 600 miles away and Texas A&M is over 750 miles away. SMU in Dallas is over 600 miles away. I would love for him to choose the University of Arizona in Tucson because it is only 300 miles from here. Of course, out of state tuition is a killer there. Guess we will just have to wait a little longer to see if he can get any scholarship offers. He did really well on his SAT's on the first try, so we are keeping our fingers crossed.

Amanda -- congratulations on the new house. Sound like you have been really busy.

Well -- gotta run. Have to get ready for church and then have a busy day ahead of me between work for the office and stuff around here.

Hey Angie!
Yes we are near Caryn now!!!! We are located off Central Church road which is about 4 miles north of County Line Rd..I looked on google maps and saw that Grandtree is off County Line:banana:

Happy Sunday All --

We made our last 2 dives and now have "official" temporary AOW certifictes.

Sorry we could not meet up with you Virgil to say Congrats in person...Good Luck in the new job and new town.

Amanda - you too - Congrats and Good Luck in the New House but same town.

Cheer up Parent's summer is almost over and then (shhh) IT starts again.

We went to see (finally) the Harry Potter movie today.

Off to cook for the neigbors....

Have a good rest of weekend...

NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! Say it isn't so.

Dropped Nick off at church camp. ICK. Nasty cabins. Nasty beds. Praying that he doesn't catch some weird disease. Blech. 4 sleeps. only 4 sleeps.

We are back from lunch and pool time with Virgil and crew. Had a great time.

I tried to post from the pool using Lauren's Iphone, but it does not look like I figured it out.

It was great hearing all about the move and cruises first hand. The most shocking part was hearing that Virgil gave up his Iphone to Lauren! :scared1:

That is surprising about the iPhone. But, then again, Fathers and Daughters....... I need not say more!

Here's a little building joke;

A heating and cooling technician trained a small chimpanzee to help him. The chimp was the perfect assistant. He wasn’t afraid of heights. And because he was small, he could squeeze into ducts to work on them. Best of all, the technician didn’t need to pay him. One day, a customer called because his air conditioning was running and running. But the house didn’t seem to be cooling down. The technician examined the cooling system and found a problem in the ducts. The customer asked if it would be difficult to fix. “Nope,” said the technician. “I have a little duct ape that will fix the problem.”

Good Morning All!

Could you please spare some prayers and pixie dust for some friends today, Lars and Kristine, and their children Jacob and Maddie. Lars is battling Polycystic Kidney Disease and is in surgery today to remove his both of his kidneys. In about 6-8 weeks he will undergo a transplant with his sister, Barb approved as the donor.

:grouphug: Oh my.... :grouphug: Of course.....On their way for the entire family. We are so thankful when we look at what others are facing.

update on Lars' surgery...Direct from their blog...Thanks for all of your prayers and pixie dust!!!

The surgery to remove both of Lars' kidneys was successfully completed this afternoon. The right kidney was attached to the liver and had to be separated before the kidney could be removed. Lars was given an epidural to help with pain which will stay in place for now. He is currently in the ICU following the surgery.

Monica, good news about your friend.

How is the weather today in Houston. Dale and I are off early tomorrow morning (flight leaves at 6:15 a.m.) Should be in houston by about 6 pm tomorrow evening, maybe sooner depending on traffic. I hope it has dried out some.

Ashley starts swimming on Wednesday. Competition should be really tough with all the different states competing. We are hoping she can at least place in the top 15 in her breast stroke events, not really a chance in placing in the top 20 in the other events she will be swimming

Well, wish me luck for maneuvering my way through a part of Texas I have never been in.

Good news about your friends Monica!! PD their way.

Good luck to Ashley in Houston and Mom for finding her way around :scared1:

GPS!! good stuff!!

Direct from their blog...

OK... that's what I get for reading too fast... I could have sworn that said "Direct from their Dog" the first time I read it...

Continuing to send prayers and good wishes their way.

Monica, good news about your friend. I'll keep praying.Wish I'd been in FL for all the meets! But we've been having a good time. It's always good to see my family. And the weather's been great. So Virgil....why did you give up the iPhone? I can trade this Treo in another month or so, and plan on getting the same one, newer version. I'm happy with it.I tried to get my old lap top set up for Mom, but was having trouble with it. I took it to the Geek Squad on Thursday and they still aren't done with it. At least I don't feel terribly stupid.Heading home tomorrow night. It's always nice to visit, but good to go home....but much less stress here.Jordan made the decision to finish school from home, so we'll have some setting up to do. And Megan's thinking about leaving her job at the doctor's office to go back to teaching preschool. I'm not too happy with her right now.Oh well...best get going. Take care everyone!
