Here's another shot of Monument Valley for out Independence day. Not fireworks, but close.....

John, what do you think of this?

:yay: Have a safe and enjoyable Fourth!!!

Looks great! Is that a HDR or just Capture? I am not sure me sky came out that nice.

Thanks, thought it came out kind of nice. Used Photomatrix Pro tone mapping,

and an Albuquerque sky.......:rolleyes1

Your photos really put mine to shame. In my next life, I want to come back as a good photographer with a great camera.

Or a supermodel.

Oh cheating -- then I will be critical! While it looks great, based on what Eric was saying, it would be spectacular if the color in the sky was above the mittens. That way it would draw your eye back down into the pricture -- right now the top 1/3 of the picture is a bit dark. Still the tone mapping looks good and the compsiting looks very good also

I hope that everyone had a wonderful 4th of July. We got rained on here - but we needed it.

I posted more pictures - including the Vatican and Sistine Chapel. Still more to come!

Mediterranean pictures

Comments and criticisms are appreciated - still learning the camera so John and Kevin fire away....

To say we got rained on would be an understatement... we got about 6 inches of rain... which is great, because we needed it too... what wasn't great was that my sunroof was open on my truck... only a few inches, but, with that amount of rain, it might as well have been wide open.

I'm trying to decide now if turning my heated seats on will DRY them out or cause an electrical fire :confused3 . :rotfl2:

Pretty awesome, Virgil. I can't even imagine seeing all that in person.

Now I want to hear about being on the ship. How did you like the Spa Villa?

Were there a lot of Europeans onboard? Did it seem different from when we sail out of Florida? I know that to us, the passengers in California (and pretty much the whole cruise) seemed rather different.

We had done the Spa Villas before - we really like the treatment and the view. The last time we did it was an at sea day and we liked it better then - it was boring looking out at the harbor and a little bit warm too....

I think that we had a high concentration of repeat cruisers because it really seemed like a normal cruise. We saw few Europeans on the cruise - the ones that were there were from England - and previous cruisers. It was different in the fact that so many were doing tours - and there were many buses lined up to take us away.

There were a lot of comments about new staff on the repositioning cruise - but we really didn't have any of those issues. We loved our servers (yes Diana, I'm working towards their pics...) and felt that that we had great service.

Ah yes, the Stacey and Monica supermodel shot, and the DIS guys. Good times!

We had hail yesterday. Just enough to clear out the Balloon Fiesta Park at about 5 pm, so that when we arrived at 7 pm there were plenty of nice spots to choose from. Joan Jett played, the girls went up to the stage, while we stayed in the back trying to guess which songs were actually recorded by her. (Wasn't that one Creedance?) The fireworks show was good and long, they even had music. Still, wasn't quite the same. Maybe it was the setting? Kevin took pictures, duh.

Someone walked by with a snack I didn't even know existed, but my SIL assured me is addictive. It was a pile of potato chips, smothered with red chile and cheese. NM red chile, that is, not con carne. Bet they don't have that one at WDW!

We enjoyed the symphony concert in the park last night and then fireworks. It rained all day but cleared out about 5:00pm...

My big puzzler of the night was trying to figure out how the 1812 Overture became an American tradition on Independence Day...:confused3

Gotta love Google - I got my answer... (If anyone is curious...)

Sorry, D, but that snack sounds disgusting. But then, I don't like potato chips anyway. Unless they have ketchup on them.

Yep, I turned to Jay last night and said "It just isn't as good as Disneyland or WDW." Especially since there wasn't any music. I stopped myself from suggesting a trip to DLand for the two of us. :guilty:
