Gymnastics was not the only event this weekend. We also did the Muddy Buddy on Saturday at WWofS. Matt and I competed and Lisa did the Mini Muddy Buddy.

The Muddy Buddy is a team event that includes running and biking. After each 1.5 miles there is an obsticle that needs to be completed. It covers 6.5 miles and ends in a team mud crawl.

Here are a few pictures that will show the good time we had.

The mini muddy buddy is a very short course which ends with the mud crawl. Since Lisa was not going to get dirty enough....I decided to help her.

Now for this she should get Banfi.

We have also decided that we should start a therapy fund. Each of our kids might need it after living with me for 18 years! :lmao:

No kidding! You are evil! How come Matt's face isn't covered in mud like yours is? Oh wait, I know.....because you are used to wallowing in the mud.

Happy Mom's Day to all!

Jim, I had to call the family in to see the pictures of you and Lisa. The response: awww, eeew! You couldn't even loan her your goggles?

Well, I guess mud is good for the skin, right?

Here is the result page.....

Looks like they both did pretty good. Congrats to Bugs and Lisa!!!

Thanks for the postive thoughts. The girls both had a lot of fun, but did not do what they are capable of. Lisa's All Around score for the 4 meets previous (2 Invatationals, States,& Regionals) was 36.85 each time. Bugs scored a 37.95 at Regionals. But, I think the idea of Nationals scared them both a bit.

However, on the positive side, they both had a great time. They received leo's from the Region they were representing (Region 8) and warm-ups from GK the leo supplier for USAG. The warm-ups looked like mini Olympic warm-ups. The girls loved them. I will try and get Matt or Jim to post some pictures I took of the girls.

So, with Nationals concluding, the girls start training for next season on Monday (no rest for the weary). Actually they both were discussing soon after the meet, what skills they were going to try and obtain for next year. This has been a good year for Lisa and we are very proud of her and all her hard work.:cool1: :cool1:

Well, I have had a good Mothers Day today. I got a nap this afternoon and then we went to JB's for Rock Shrimp and dinner on the Inter-Coastal. The kids gave me a cute card they had made from old photos (they sure grow up fast). As always, I am sure glad we have so many fun memories with our kids.

Here are the pictures I promised (Matt (or Mr AT&T)) is helping me.

Their Region 8 Leos. At the bottom right had corner of their leos is the number "8" in "Jewels"(the sparkles on leos). Each Region had their Regional Number on them and each Region had their own color combination. I like the color Region 8 selected.

Sharon, thanks for the pictures. That's pretty special for those girls!
I honestly thought you all might get a little break, and be able to see Garry and Vicki next week. Wow. What a schedule! Don't know why that surprises me, Jordan's dance practice for next year starts next week.:sad2:

Both of the girls are darling. Lisa is starting to look more grown up...finally! Her face is changing...not the "little girl" look so much anymore.

I just talked to Vicki (they're in the car heading for FL) and we were discussing how quickly the kids are all growing up, with all the proms and such.....
:sad1:

Thanks for the pictures, Sharon!

We were up early this morning. No breakfast in bed this a.m. John shot a duathalon and Mike served as an alcolyte at the 8:00 service. Then packed a picnic and off to Schlitterbahn water park in Galveston for the day...Official story, I let the kids choose the activity because without them I wouldn't be a mom - but, in reality - where else can I get uninterrupted time with a book, ipod and a nap, without the guilt of the cleaning and laundry staring me in the face

My dinner for the day? Popeye's fried chicken :rotfl2:

Now it's time to hem dance costumes, for pictures this week... For as much as these recital costumes cost - you would think they would be tailor made

Nice!! I want to know how you got home???? Was there a hose to wash ya'll down first?? :rotfl2:

Good morning all. Had to rescue us from page 2 this morning.

Hope all of you mothers had a great day yesterday. Sounds like most did.

Congrats to Lisa on a job well done.

Jim, ewwww on that muddy buddy thing. You wouldn't catch me doing that!

Happy belated birthday to Jordan.

Safe travels to all of you heading to FL soon. Another 3 weeks for us. Hope all of those fires don't hinder anyone's driving. We got some rain this weekend but doesn't sound like the areas that needed it got it.

MIL & her husband came in on Sat. & left this morning. We had a nice visit. Jim, I made your prime rib. She raved over it and asked for the recipe. She's a great cook so that was really a compliment. I really did a better job on it this time than I did last. I went heavier on the seasoning this time & really liked it.

My mother's day consisted of going to Mass, taking Ashley to the dr. and cooking dinner. Ashley's left eye started looking pink on Sat. & I knew that if didn't take her in, I'd get a call from day care today. The dr. said that it was a very mild case of pink eye and if she wasn't in day care, she wouldn't have treated it.

Good Morning All.....

Sharon, thanks for posting the specifics...and Matt - thanks for helping with the photos....The girls looked great, hair appointments turned out nice.

I know Nationals would sure scare me, but it was good practice for next year right....and for this Jim throws her in the mud...(bad Daddy, bad -- bad---)

Now that that mud, include a glass of the bubbly and some fluffly towels and you have a spa treatment, go figure!

Jim, notice we were not rushing on line to see how you fininished...:lmao:

GaRRy - have a safe trip down south. Sorry the Hedgie won't be able to meet up with you...Next time however....

Ang - howdy....we had scallops and wild mushrooms as our main entree.....

Diana, Kiki, Stacey Monica - hi.....hope you all enjoyed your Mother's Day...

GaRRy - bring some rain with you...

Sharon asked me to post some of Lisa's gymnastics pictures for her. These are awesome. Look at the height Lisa got on the beam! She is amazing.

And her poster. I left it a little larger, so we could see all the smaller pictures.:thumbsup2
