The past two days here have been much cooler. It's wonderful! We have had some high winds and a little rain night before last, but that really washed away the dust and now the desert smells wonderful.

It's our rodeo weekend, so it's nice that it isn't too hot. Just wish the wind would die down a touch more. I don't need half an arena full of dirt and horse doo-doo blowing in my face!

Might not be any Florida for me next February. Jordan didn't make varsity dance. Once the school year starts, they may move some of the girls around, though.
They chose 8 girls for varsity and 17 for JV.
All the girls who made varsity were returning from last year, except one darling little gal who is the spitting image of Jim and Sharon's Lisa. She's coming in as a Freshman.

Of course not. I'm not upset, and oddly, neither is Jordan. I think the one little gal (incoming Freshman) is darling, and she did a great job.

Okay, maybe I'm a little bummed about missing Nationals in Florida.....

Well, don't know about everyone else, but I am finally working on taxes. Nothing like a crunch, and all I'm doing is estimating for an extension. Came to the DIS to see if there's any information on the DVC property taxes!

Today was 'clean the house' day... Ray's Dad will be staying here with the kids while we're in Jamaica, so I didn't want to leave him with a mess... things just seem to have been piling up lately... maybe because between Ray and I, one of us is ALWAYS travelling these days... which, in theory, should mean LESS of a mess, but it always ends up being MORE!

I read this quickly and thought it said DVC POVERTY taxes... well... it might be the same thing...

Busy day here. My sister was still here b/c she spent the night. Went to the Pfizer Fantasia horse show yesterday at the Ohio Fairgrounds. Fun time!
Today I loaded (and I mean LOADED) her car up with things for Cody (yeah, MORE out of my house!)

Then off to take KT to the zoo for a youth group trip. BRRRRRRRRR. About 40 degrees and very windy. Nick and I opted to leave her there and go see a movie instead of sticking around the zoo.

Then home to Cappy's pizza and to watch the next installment of From the Earth to the Moon.

In the middle of it the cat was acting weird. Kept going up and down into the basement. So I checked on him.....seems he was freaked out by the sound coming from the basement.....
the sump pump discharge PVC pipe had come undone and the sump pump was constantly going, but it was just shooting out into the basement instead of OUT of the house. Oh, joy, fun. As we are two hairlips unable to fix anything in our house, our sump pump is now turned off, the pit is full, and we have a call into our handyman neighbor to see if he can fix it.

When I grow up I want to life in an apartment.

A couple more shots from today's rodeo. We had some great weather....and tomorrow I go to Nebraska and will probably freeze. Oh well, it will be worth it to spend some time with my family.

You can count me out anytime there are two guys on horses whose job it is to help you get off the beast!! And you have to jump onto one of their horses to do it!

And from one extreme to the other. An event for little kids called Mutton Bustin' where they try to ride a sheep for as long as the can.....

And the big boys and their big toys. There must be a better way to earn a living. The bull won, by the way!
