Kevin is going to hate this, but Alicia and I sat down today and watched "An Inconvenient Truth". All I can say is, it's nice that the ending was hopeful, because it surely was depressing. We are now having an argument over who gets to buy a hybrid car. If I pay for it, I'm driving it!

Congrats to Jordan! Stacey, I hope you survive this. (me too, Alicia will get her license very soon)

Sharon, thanks for clearing up my Bugs confusion.

I need prayers & pixie dust for a coworker. She got a call today at the office - her husband passed away. He was driving home from a business trip & had a heart attack and died. We are a small office so it hit us all hard. She is in her mid to upper 50s with 2 sons that are on their own now (mid 20s). Very sad.

Angie, that's awful! It's always so sad when it's unexpected....well, it's always sad, but you know what I mean, I hope!
Prayers for the woman and her family, and for you and her co-workers.

Jordan took off in the car all by herself today. Went to Target and Office Max...and stopped by the shop to get money from her dad. (Ha...now he has two of us doing that!)
I don't know how I'll stand this. I don't remember how long it was before I worried about Megan driving every single day. Some days, when I hear there's an accident anywhere close to where she may be driving, I still have to call her to make sure she's okay. :sad2:

I just picked it up from the library yesterday...Even though it was depressing, was it good?

Need some help here...working on the taxes and reveiwing the 2006 records...

Entries inlcude - DCL, WDW, shipboard charges, Mark ***, Kevin ***, Jim ***, and places called JB's, Irish Pub., *** dive boat, ??????

They must be all tax deductable right?

Where is my prescription for mental health....I am sure they all qualify....:thumbsup2

Good luck. I live with an accountant who won't let me do anything that might be a little "funny" when it comes to taxes.

I should get Matt to post in response to this. His environmental science class just read a review of the total pollution impact of a Hummer vs a hybrid car.

The Hummer has less impact. Apparently the manufacturing process of the batteries for the hybrid is pretty bad, bad enough to make the Hummer more environmentally friendly over the life then a hybrid.

Please remember, this is what Matt told me from his environmental science class. I found it pretty amazing, but not totally surprised. Just another example that when you look at the whole picture, things some times are a little different.

I think we should just start regulating when people can drive and when they can't. Like those with last names A-F can drive on Monday and Wednesday. Those G-P can drive on Tuesday and Friday. Q-Z on Thursday and Saturday. NO DRIVING ON SUNDAY!

Gotta love all these vocal global warming people who have private jets and use a ba-zillion times the electricity I do in my house telling US what to do to save the world. :sad2:

Not to mention, the cost of replacing the battery is astronomical! So if you bought one to save money on gas, you'd more than make up for it by having to buy a new battery........

I can think of ONE in particular, who I'd like to shove his "global warming" down his throat!

My parents had a Prius. Yes, HAD. They got great gas mileage if they kept a very very steady speed and if they went from 0 to 60 in 7 1/2 minutes (the people behind them never liked the slow starts) They were getting to the point where batteries were going to start going so they traded it in. I think they said something like $10,000 for new batteries!

Spent over three hours at MVD today....Jordan got her driver's license. 100% on the road test. But she couldn't figure out why we wouldn't let her take the car to her boyfriend's house tonight. :sad2: On the freeway, in the dark. Ain't no way! I tried to tell her that she still needs more time on the roads during the day, before she heads out at night....told her that it isn't safe to be out...all that "mom" stuff....told her she needs to work into that. Then I finally told her the truth.....Dad and I need time to work into it!! ;)

So, just a warning if you're in the Phoenix area, she'll be driving my Equinox for now.....silver....Mickey Mouse antenna ball.....license plate "OHPLEEZ"....
Congrat to Jordan!!!

I will have to give my sister a heads up, she just moved to Phoenix earlier this month. We might be headed out there for a visit in May, boy is the airfare really expensive!!!

Monica, do watch it. It certainly kept our interest. Lots of information that we hadn't heard or seen, things to think about and do more research on. Lots of critics of this movie (junk science seems to be the catchphrase), but most of them haven't bothered to watch it. I kind of like to make up my own mind about things.

I havn't seen it either - but did it mention anywhere that major industry is a huge part of the problem? They have these things that I think are called earned emissions credits, where if they participate in some kind of eco-friendly exercise they can ignore other epa rules, dumping really bad stuff into the environment?

And about the Prius - I heard about that, Toyota buys the batteries from this one manufacturer up north and the area around the place that makes them is a wasteland from all the emissions involved. Add in the toxic waste from disposing of used ones, sure that car is really helping the environment.

Matt has been invited to be part of the Color Guard at the Daytona Thunder game on Saturday night at the Ocean Center. :woohoo:

However, it is BCR weekend (Black College Weekend). 50,000 people who just drive/walk A1A next to the Ocean Center. We don't know if we can get there. It is the worst traffic mess of all the special events. No one in their right mind would go down there this weekend.....which explains why I'll be there!!! :rotfl:

I bet if I drove a big beer truck they would let me through. Can you help me out Kiki? :lmao:

We don't have a King Cobra or Hurricane HG branded truck...

Looks like a weekend to sit down by the jetty... the crowd never makes it that far.

Just a very quick good morning.

HUGS to Virgil on this difficult day.
