You know what I miss the most now that our cruise is over? (gee, has it really been a whole year almost??)

I miss Jim's early morning posts. It used to be like getting the morning newspaper and turning to your favorite columnist right away. :sad1:

Thanks, Diana.....next day wishes are fun, too!!

How excited were we LAST year at this time??????

I just looked at my calendar, and one month from tomorrow, I leave for Jamaica... some how I just can't muster up the excitement that DIS'ers manage to create!!!!!!!

I agree...it just is not the same. Matt and I are leaving for Montana in 2 months. We are excited, but not as excited if we had a whole group of DISers going with us.

Oh, I know. Same with us and Turks & Caicos. It will be a really cool vacation, but I don't have anyone to get excited with!

Did you guys see the Cruising Do's and Don't show on Travel Channel last night. They paid a lot of attention to DCL. Remember our DJ Hollywood who loved the Double Scoop Troop? Well he's now Asst. Cruise Director Clayton on the Wonder and he was featured on the show as well! He'll always be Hollywood to us!

Hi all, just got back this afternoon from our WDW trip. We had a good time, but I think we started the trip out too tired after being at the swim meet in Austin right before the trip. We all started out a little cranky and then all the huge crowds in the parks (yuck)

We found that going early and doing fast passes worked best. Staying late didn't really do any good, because fast passes were gone by mid-day and the crowds were still huge after hours. It is great to have a 16 year old that will run ahead and get fast passes for you.

I pulled a muscle behind my knee and it made getting around difficult.

We ate way too much food on the dining plan, and Ashley and I shared several of our meals. Had some wonderful meals though and we had good weather for the most part. Kids were disappointed because we had planned on Typhoon Lagoon for Sunday, but I didn't want to pay that money when the weather had really cooled off.

Stacey -- sorry I missed your birthday. Hope you had a great one!!:wizard:

Good Tuesday Morning All!!!

KikiKAren sure goes to some fun parties. Must not let Hedgie know or she will be wanting to tag along. I have heard about Land Shark but (gasp :scared1: ) have not yet tried it. Must remedy this, but I think it will take sands, sun and a Tiki Bar for the full effect.

We will need to come up with a joint countdown planner for the upcoming vacations, to take a page from Mary's Book...(without her artisit talent)

Good Morning Cruisers it is:

30 days until Jamaica with family;
60 days until Montana, horses and pup tents;
30 days until the Turks and Caicos and snorkeling;
60 days until my first Necton Cruise with DH.

(please add in as needed or correct day count)....

Pam, welcome back - whee that WDW trip sailed by, it seems, at least to me. I don't do WDW well tired at all. But even with passes, we always get to the gates first thing. Sorry to hear about your knee.....A good excuse for a wheelchair and "go to the front of the line"....Oh, that was not the reason?

We love WDW food and food is always a big part of our stays. But here is one for you....Do you know we have never hit a water park? We did enjoy River County when it was open, but it was far less crowded in those days.

I keep thinking we need to plan a trip 'specially for the water parks, during the summer, when the passes are not good and the weather is warm...I am a wimp when it comes to cold water and I do not think I can wear a wetsuit at WDW :rotfl:

Assistant Cruise Director Hollywood......gee....That is a hoot!

Oh no... not family this time... just Ray and I & another couple... Ray's best friend is getting re-married, and we are 'the wedding'. (It's also Ray's 40th birthday that day, so we're having a double-celebration)... they have been friends since they were 4... Ray was his Best Man the first time, too. Should be lots of fun!

Good Morning Stacey!! and also to everyone else.

Matt and I saw the Hogs movie last night. It was a funny movie to us because it really hit home. Just another movie about 40+ year old guys who go on a trip for their mid-life crisis.

After running 10 miles on Saturday, then biking 40 miles on Sunday, then riding horses for another 1.5 hours on Sunday....I'm starting to wonder if this is my mid-life crisis or or not.

Got to go back to work. I need to plan a business trip tomorrow so Matt and I can go diving at Paradise Springs. :lmao:

Jim, I think you've got something there. Kevin has been taking up new activities with a zeal the last few years too. This does seem to be better choices than some mid life crisis I've heard about.

Pam, we find that we eat a lot with the dining plan too. I'm starting to think that the DDE is a better way to go. Sorry to hear that it was so crowded, do they already have spring break crowds?

Irene, no trips for us so far. Kevin's Mexico trip was cancelled, he was going to lead a group to the cenotes for diving. Not enough people signed up, but it was an expensive trip.

I miss Kevin. I wish he would come out and play. :hippie:

AHHHHHHH...I feel so much better! Thank you, Jim!

The hand specialist gave me a shot of cortisone in the wrist yesterday and it hurt like mad last night. Not quite so bad today, but I'm not supposed to be using it, so you didn't see me here. Just wanted to report in.
We'll give the cortisone a month, and if I don't have relief, we'll look at other options, like surgery.

Or, just go with my mother's classic remedy for everything we complained about when we were kids...

"Take a big knife and cut it off..."

Seriously... that was her answer for everything that ailed us. Thanks, Mom... scarred for life!!!!

Last night when I was rolling on the bed because of the pain, I was wishing we could have just taken a knife and cut it off.

My parents would always say "It'll get better before you get married....."

Ok, so NOW what? :rotfl2:
