Angie,

we love the All Star Movies. We haven't tried the newest (Pop Century) so I couldn't comment on that, but between Movies, SPorts and Music, we definitely like the Movies best, then Music and Sports next.

We stayed at all of them and I don't see much difference between the hotels other then themeing. The rooms are all the same size, same features, all have pools, food courts, etc.

We go by the pricing when looking at the Value Resorts.

Have you used WDW transportation or your own? If you did use the buses, was one resort better than another? We'll have our own vehicle but would rather leave the driving up to someone else if we can.

Stacey, love all of the photos! Don't you have $1M laying around to buy that resort? :lmao:

Oh yeah. I told Virgil's Lauren I'd just write a check! Not.
But it would be a good investment. They had quite a few boatloads of people brought over there, and all the food and drinks were extra $$....so at least it makes money!

We have done both. The kids have used the buses a lot more then I have. They have been able to get around without any problems, at least they were on the room when I woke up in the morning. :goodvibes

This was kind of neat...where we docked in Santo Tomas de Castilla, Guatemala was right near a naval base. Later that evening they had what looked like a cadet graduation ceremony, but it was too dark by then to get a picture. This was in the morning, during their flag raising.

And the barracks....

The front of the resort we went to in Costa Maya this time....it was a nice place. It even had a freshwater swimming pool. But it was a pretty long drive beyond Majahual from the port.

That was my 12,000th post....I really should have thought of something profound to say. Oh well.

Last one for now.......a Walgreens in New Orleans' French Quarter.....Jay and I loved looking at the architecture there.

Stacey, you've posted lots of pictures of buildings and the ports, but where are the pictures of the food and dinners? Matt wants to know! :groom:

Good Morning All --- a great game last night - was not rooting for either team, but finally was pulling for WF.

yawn,

Sam took down the outside lights so I could box them up - sigh :(

Thanks for the pics Stacey!!!! - I echo the comments on Walgreens.

Hi all..... Finally made it home at 1am this morning.... twas a trip from Hell......

It was fun cruising with Stacey and her family and garRy and his family....

Can't say that we enjoyed the NCL Sun..... but the ports were fun.....

I'll post more later....

At least WVU won today!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

Welcome Home Virgil! How were the wines?

I'm a little late at getting the ball rolling ... I'm starting to plan a WDW trip for us in early June and can't find my WDW Passporter. Anyone have opinions on the best value resort? We'll be driving down so we'll have a vehicle. In 2002 we stayed at ASMu and liked it although this time I'd probably request a preferred location.

Ang

If no one else has posted - Best Value Resort - we think - is Pop Century......

Nice path along the lake, better Food Court than All-Star.....nicer pool bar.

They say it is a touch larger - if so, it must be all of 12 inches.

We use our own car - that way we can go whereever and whenever we want to - some WDW transport can be time-consuming....esp. from the value resorts....If you are spending an entire day at a Park, the transport may be a better deal, but we like to come home during the afternoon to rest, shower, change and get out of the sun.

:tinker:Good morning cruisers :tinker:

Happy Wednesday!

Another interview day for me which means a long one. Better get going!
