The second week of this last trip was HORRIBLY busy. The first week was fine (Nov 26-Dec 2) The next week (Dec 3-10) was busy busy busy.

Well, I think it is about to get busier. Orange and Seminole County kids finish school for Holidays this Friday. Our kids still have a week to go, but I know the other counties school schedule because the Gyms Christmas Party is based on Seminole County and Lisa will be in school when they have their party next Monday. Oh well.

Oh yikes. The Tour Guide site says crowd levels will be 4 to 6 on our park days. This doesn't sound good.

There is no slow time any more. We have learned that by going off seasons for the past 10 years and have seen a remarkable increase in the off season business over the past few years. WDW has done an excellant job of making sure there is no off season. It is peak time now all the time, some are just not as peak as other.

We have talked to cast members and they have confirmed. With all the special events, marketing to other countries, etc, the parks are always full.

The best rules are still, don't go on weekends, go early, go late, avoid the heat, eat a very late lunch at one of the sit down restaurants, and take liquor.:thumbsup2

No reservations for HOB before 5 pm. We should not have a problem since it is off property and the FL early birds don't go to HOB, it's not a buffet. :rotfl:

Thank goodness for our neighbors!!!

I forgot to put dinner in the crockpot this morning. I worked until 6:30 tonight. Came home and found Matt running to the neighbors. They had left overs for him. :cool1:

At times I wonder if they think he will starve if they don't feed him.

Sharon, don't worry about tomorrow's lunch. Just plug in the crockpot when you get home. That will be your lunch tomorrow!

It's done!!! :Pinkbounc :cheer2: :woohoo: I'm back - exhausted and rather brain dead...2 hr practical exam yesterday (after driving 4 1/2 hrs to Dallas) and a 2 1/2 hr written exam today plus the drive back home.

I did my best so, can't complain or beat myself up about that - hopefully, it will be good enough. The waiting begins. My trainer doesn't do the grading - it's done at the official training center in Canada. She just makes her notes and observations on the practical exam and sends the written along for grading.

Last night, I was soo looking forward to decompressing in front of cable tv - we don't have it at home - and not much caught my interest. Dog the bounty hunter :confused3 Growing Pains  Law and Order season 7685 and spin-off #899 ;) I did like Dirty Jobs and then I ended up zoning out in front of a Charlie's Angels episode... :rotfl2:

Thanks all for your good wishes!

Now to catch up on all I've neglected for the past 6 weeks. Maybe tomorrow - a book and bed tonight!

wrapped the lst packages that need to be mailed today....still have not completed the Christmas Cards....

Christmas shopping all done - I love internet shopping - can't stand the mall during the off season let alone now!!!

Haven't started on the cards nor the annual brag letter (CB has me a bit gun shy - just what do people really think of my letters :confused3 - just got John to drop off the picture - doing the formal night family picture and the kids' lifestyle portrait - couldn't decide and the photo guy can do two pictures on one card - so, we may go with that if it looks ok...

Anyone have any suggestions for a put together party? Thanks.

Pizza Hut???!!!! :rotfl2: Seriously, Sam's Club/Costco always has great frozen appetizers for re-heating. There's always the quick and easy cheese and cracker assortment.

I've enjoyed reading everyone's trip reports - Irene's menu details always wets my appetite...OM's reports - her's are on the opposite end of the scale - - makes me lose my appetite!!! :lmao:

Our kids are out on Tuesday - Mike has finals this week - grades are due on Friday for the district - parties on Tuesday. the kids are effectively done this week. Not that I mind - I wish they'd go longer into the week - they are always so antsy before Christmas - even more so because my parents are due to arrive on the 22nd - we haven't celebrated Christmas with the family in 6 years...So, not only do I have to dig out and clean out the house from the last 2 months of neglect - I have to get the house "mother clean" - which in my case is more detailed than MIL clean...

My parents are trying the winter texan thing - they're staying at a nearby extended stay hotel for about a month...that means an entire month of Mother clean...ugh!!!

Good luck with that.

Morning All....

Glad some of our group are back - Good luck to those trying to pack.
Monica - I sure you did great!

I will echo the suggestion of making reservations ASAP for anyone going to WDW. We always do as soon as we can, and it provides a stress free time. With the dining plan, Candlelight and Fantasmic events, the table service are all booked for dinner. They were last weekend...We do not use dining plan - too much food, I agree with you Karen. One blow out dinner is fine but every day????? We have to do the plan to enjoy Candlelight but at Canada, I really would have preferred to order 2 appetizers (or even 3) they are so good, and skip the entree.....

We are fortunate to be able to pop to Disney several times a year, so when we cannot avoid crowds, we scale down activities. But then, we are not constrained to a date....(lucky, lucky)

Speaking of teaching kids --- We were at the American P. and the Fife and Drum Corps were parading the colors. This time, the National Anthem was played. One Daddy standing across form us, nicely, took his young (5? 7?) daughter's hand and played it across her heart, and sorta tugger her shoulders up straight. She stayed that way through the song....sorta tugged at my heart strings. Daddy is teaching daughter right!

Guess I need to go do laundry - Will take a swipe at the house for the toasting party Friday night....but not gonna kill self, no Mothers or MIL coming....Thanks for the tips - Grocery Store tonight.

:tinker:Good morning cruisers :tinker:

Happy Thursday!

Well I must have caught something on the plane ride home because I ended up at home yesterday with a very sore through and congested head and it isn't much better today. So another day of rest because I have to go in to work tomorrow. Also just found out one of our employees quit effective immediately (she was out on medical leave).

Next trip is sacred. NO GUESTS. It's ONLY going to be us. If you're in WDW while we're there we might meet up with you, but we are NOT having any guests in our room!!! :earseek:

Oh darn and I was just going to invite us along again! :lmao:

But I know you. You'll have your own room. You won't be living with us 24/7. You won't be expecting us to totally entertain you. And you won't obnoxiously paw all over Mark. :lmao: :earseek:

Some come on down. It's early May sometime (starting May 6th, I believe) We'll be at OKW. :)

Hope you're feeling better soon!
I had this sort of thing a couple of days ago. Woke up in the morning and my throat was on fire. Luckily I'm feeling much better today. :)

Mary, that sounds like what I had after the last two cruises. I'm going to do the Airborne this trip, see if it helps.

Everybody's ready but me. But I have today, so no sweat. Won't take me long to pack but there's other stuff. Like an unplanned trip to the credit union, stuff like that. And probably a few calls from Kevin when he remembers stuff he forgot. Alicia can't do that, thankfully, she's at school. We're picking her up at 2, she's done with finals at 1:30. Serendipity!

Off to a warmer climate! Though it hasn't been bad here, lately. OK, off to a more fun climate!

I know - just teasing with you. I really felt bad early on in the evening that we were intruding on family time but when both you and Mike said "no please stay" that you were welcoming other conversations. We loved spending time with you guys and it was fun having the kids fight over who would sit with them. :)

BTW - just read the new Mouse Matters "Home for the Holidays". Another winner by Mike!

OM, you forgot the best thing about travelling with DIS friends: they pay their own way! And generally have their own room. It's all good.

No kidding. Esp this trip because our Christmas gift to my parents and Mike's dad and Val was their food. :earseek: Yeowzer! But at least I'm DONE with their gifts! :)

I told him this morning that he should have talked about meeting up with you guys.....like a mini-family-reunion. He smacked himself in the head! :)

Must change my siggy....
