Yesterday WAS kind of interesting. After we dropped Megan's car off and got her a rental, she left for a job interview, and I was sooooo close to this huge mall........

It's been a long, long time since I had to kill time waiting for the stores to open! :rotfl:

LET ME GET BACK TOO YOU ON

T H AT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have a proposition on the ballot to "award" people for voting. They want to make it like a lottery. One lucky person would win a million dollars if they vote, and have their name drawn.
Definitely voting NO on that one. That's just what we need....uninformed idiots voting just in hopes that they'd win the money. I don't think so!

But I'd be your first customer! I've always wanted a Yorkie!!::yes::

Guess I'd better get moving, too.

Have a great day! At least we won't have to hear and see those annoying ads any more. Now if we can just get the candidates to take down all their signs! :crazy2:

Very happy it's election day. No more phone calls or doorbell ringing. Really interrupts your train of thought. I don't know how many times I hung up on Bill Clinton and the First Lady. I don't think W called.

OM, enjoy that trip. We love showing newbies around, it's like a first trip all over again!

Well, Irene, you must be the happiest wet suit customer ever! Maybe we'll see a picture of you in it under water?

Kevin doesn't know that the B2B was my suggestion, I guess. But I have to agree that the scuba opportunities would be limited. Count me as one of those that really liked the Wonder and would like to go back. And it wasn't just because I was in a suite! Stacey, it will be good to hear about your NCL cruise. But we wouldn't be able to all sit together at dinner on one of those cruises, would we?

Sure we would. It's Freestyle Dining, go anywhere, do anything.......
We saw quite a few large groups seated together on both Princess and NCL. Of course, they had entire areas set aside for the Mirage group on Princess.
NCL also offers a room with snacks and non-alcoholic drinks for meetings(like DIS meets)...often with a visit from some of the officers. They're very accommodating.
I think if we had a large group, we'd have to make "reservations" for dinner, but that's not anywhere near a problem on the other cruise lines. Disney is the only one that I know of that you have to make all your ressies 6 months out! ;)

EXACTLY! That's ridiculous! And where do you think the state would get that money from????? THE TAXPAYERS! DUH!

Can someone PLEASE help me out with getting the MCO Airport Hyatt on Priceline or Hotwire??? What do I "click" to get that particular hotel? HELP me HELP me.

Hi Maria -- afraid I am not much help on that. There is no way to guarantee it on Priceline, not sure of Hotwire, never have used them.

Hi everyone. I got back Sunday night from my quick weekend trip with my parents and brothers in Austin/San Antonio. Unfortunately, I came back pretty sick. I had gotten a root canal week before last and then it really caused me some problems. Think I got too run down, so I was slightly sick when I left on Thursday morning for Austin, but really terrible by the time I got home Sunday night. Went in to the Dr. yesterday and got started on some really good meds for the bronchitas I came down with. Staying home again today before trying to go back to work.

I am really disappointed that there will be no magic in the Carribbean Summer 08. We have taken 2 7 day cruises and they were both western. I was really wanting to get to the Eastern cruise. Alaska on Disney holds no interest for me and I really doubt we could afford a Hawaii. Not sure what else they would come up with. We would like to take a cruise, possible a 4 day on thw Wonder, because we have never sailed her before.

I would also be curious to see what people thought about a RCCL cruise. The new ships look pretty cool and it seems there are neat things for the kids. Has anyone heard anything good about them???

Oh, forgot to say that our Band didn't do that well in San Antonio. We scored really high on our music, not as high on our marching. Oh well, thank goodness Dale is not leaving for school at 6:00 in the morning anymore.

Band will keep playing as long as we stay in the playoffs. We are still undefeated and have our last regular game of the season this Thursday night with our westside rivals. I am sure they are going to be gunning for us. Not sure when we will start playoffs.

One last burst post to make up for not being around for the last week.

Ashley had the Middle School All-Region Band Tryouts on Saturday. There were about 160 clarinets trying out. She played in the first round at 9:00 a.m. and then they waited to see who would make the cut of 50. At 12:30 they started the next go-round and she made it. They took all 50 kids into the orchestra room and each one had to play all 3 tunes completely. THey were in that room for over almost 4 hours. She then had to wait around for another hour to hear results. Her hard work paid off and she made 15th chair in the city. She was one of only three 7th graders picked for the Top Band. She will have 2 night practices next week and then an all-day session with the clinicians on Saturday and then both the Symphonic and Concert bands will play later that night.

We are supposed to leave on Friday about noon to drive to Midland (about 300 miles) for the Texas All-Star Swim Tournament, where she will be competing with other all-star teams across the state. Looks like we are going to be real busy the next few weeks. Can't wait till Thanksgiving.

What new RCCL ship? Which one? I'd be interested. Maybe something longer than a 7-day. How about a 10-day or something?

Hey - a T.O.P. for this Yankee!!!
It's been a while....woo woo

Maria, sorry, I never use Hotwire. But I do know that on Priceline, there are six 3 star hotels in the airport vicinity. Hyatt is one of them, but you might wind up with one of the other five. They all have free shuttles to and from the airport, if you don't mind a wait at times. No way to guarantee the Hyatt. In fact, I think it's unlikely.

Go take a look at biddingfortravel dot com.

Maria -- it is called Liberty of the Seas, starts sailing to the Carib. in May 2007. Looks like a gorgeous ship with lots of activities. Prices don't look too bad. They only have their schedule out through April 08 right now. I really don't mind waiting to book so we can see what the school schedules are like.
