I received some bad news at work yesterday. I haven't even told Sharon yet because we don't see each other until Friday night......

I have to go to Columbus OH in October for 36 hours! :scared1:

I've been putting it off as long as I could, but the time has come for me to venture into OH. :lmao:

Hmm...that's interesting. The bad news seems to be going around lately. I just received some bad news this morning. A Michigan fan will be infiltrating our state this fall. I'll call the National Guard and have them on high alert.

:lmao:

So, seriously, which 36 hours and do you want to have a meet?

ATTN MARY:

Mary, you are so so so very close to a milestone......only 4 more!!! :)

Wow and during football season too! We loved our trip to Ohio. There are things there that you just won't see anywhere else. :lmao: Karen don't tell him about that special place you took us to or he'll have an edge when we play "where's bear".

Oh, I think we can come up with some other hokey place to show him!!! :lmao:
Although, if he's coming here for work, that means he'll be busy.....(or at least will have to ACT busy) so our time may be limited......that's IF he even wants to meet at all! :lmao:

OK here it is - post #19,000!

Seems like it was just yesterday that I was writing about post #18,000. What has happened in the last 1000 posts. Nothing I would call extraordinary. Yet the entire experience is extraordinary. During that time I’ve been involved in two cruise meets threads. The blabbermouth thread, which started for the May 2006, Double Scoop cruise and the 2006 DVC Member Cruise thread. Both of these threads are filled with wonderful people. People I have come to know as friends. The very first cruise Mark and I took was in 1999 and before we found the DIS. The second cruise was in 2001 and while on the DIS I was mostly over on the DVC forums and it was before the cruise meets forum came up. Our third cruise actually had a DIS meet (organized by someone else). Sadly only 3 other people showed (the organizer and one other couple). Our 4th cruise was the 2003 Member Cruise where Mark decided to try and organize a DIS meet. That’s when he came up with the idea of buttons for everyone. They were plastic snap-on ones back then but they were a hit. It is on this cruise where we met some of our first true DIS friends. Our 5th cruise also had a cruise meets thread and a DIS meet but since we were sailing with my in-laws we weren’t as involved. Still we met a great group of DISers and had a great time.

When we came home from the May 2003 cruise (our 5th) something happened that really changed our posting habits. We booked the December 2004 10 day cruise and joined the cruise meets thread for that cruise. 24,000 posts later and we sailed with these wonderful people. We had definitely found another group of great friends. That was our 6th cruise and definitely a special one. It was also the cruise that we booked the May 2006 cruise on. With many of our friends from the 10 day. A cruise meets thread was already well underway. Who knew it would grow to be the biggest cruise meets thread ever!

Late 2004 came the announcement of a 2005 Member Cruise. We were in again and found that many of our friends from 2003 were also. We would also be sailing with a number of DISers we met at DVC Member Homecoming. As with all cruise meet threads we also met even more new people. We had a blast on this, our 7th DCL cruise. It was also on this cruise that we learned that Member Cruise 2006 would be held in October. I don’t think the announcement was even an hour old before the 2006 Member Cruise meets thread was up and running.

May 2006 brought us to the Double Scoop cruise – our 8th. It was so great to see so many friends from the 10-day and also to meet so many new DIS friends. We had a record 5 DIS meets. At JB’s on Friday, at the Radisson on Friday, at Grills Saturday morning, in the terminal Saturday morning, and of course the big one on Saturday afternoon. We were even blessed to have Ducky Williams attend that one.

Cruise #9 is right around the corner. The 2006 Member Cruise and promises to be filled with more fun with DIS friends. Not only are we having a DIS meet on Saturday afternoon, but we are having a party bus of DISers to head over to the port.

In between all these cruises I’ve had a wonderful time chatting with all my fellow cruisers. I’m doing a circle journal with a group of friends from the Member Cruise, we just came back from a wonderful weekend in Ohio with the wonderful ohiomouse family, and we have had the pleasure of meeting up with Cindy’s family a number of times since they live in the area.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. It has been a great ride. We’ve shared lots of laughs, we’ve shared a few tears, and most of all we’ve shared our love of Disney! Thanks everyone!

Mary - CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR MILESTONE POST - 19,000!!!!

Good Morning All....

We finally made it to A/I after th air conditioner broke, traffice fatalities an heavy rain.

Our prayers go out to the accident victims.

Not a pretty sunset this morning - but the walk on the beach was relaxing.

I left Sam and Hedgie in the room (oops) and I need to cram for my presentation...so, I'll catch up later....

And a U-top with Mary's milestone post....

And morning sunsets!!!!!

And ppl think Ohio is a backwards state!! :lmao: :lmao:

Awww, Mary...that was really nice! When my next milestone comes up, I may plagiarize!

Nice post, Mary. Congrats on 19,000.

So where's Stacey? That flood didn't reach her house, did it?

The weather is crazy everywhere, it seems. We haven't had a day without rain for a while, and we are in the desert! Driving home from Alicia's school yesterday was bizarre. We would stop at a light, and get poured on. Then move from that corner, and the rain would completely stop. A few blocks later, rain again. That's New Mexico for you.

Jay & the kids made it home after dark last night, although they should have just gone to the apartment. Jay got the truck stuck in the creek and it took some doing to get it out.

As I was laying in bed, waiting for the lovely drugs to kick in, I was thinking. Not nearly as profound as Mary, though.

I absolutely cannot tolerate any pain above the neck. I have so much respect for people who have migraines. I don't know how any of you live with that. I swear, if I had migraines, I'd shoot myself. At least I know that eventually, my mouth won't hurt any more.
So any of you out there who have migraines, or chronic headaches/pain of any kind....God bless you! I think for the rest of my life I will say a prayer for you every single day.

Awww, thanks! I get migraines. Only a couple of times a year really. I've had a couple recently that started with the aura, but never progressed to the full blown headache (if I catch it early, suck down a regular coke and take motrin, and lie down, I can sometimes nip it in the bud)

I was having 3 a WEEK there for awhile. That sucked!! Figured it was when I had switched to Coke Zero with aspertame in it. Stopped that and a couple of days later my migraines went away and I'm back on my "regular" migraine schedule. :)

Now I avoid aspertame!!!!

Well, then, you'll be first on my prayer list!

I don't know what it is with aspartame....I can't tolerate it either. If I have one sip of a diet soda, I get instantly sick to my stomach. I thought maybe I was allergic to it. All I know is that my OB told me NO DIET SODA when I was pregnant (which wasn't a problem, since I don't drink it anyway) and I figure if it isn't good for a fetus, then it isn't good for anyone.

Hmmm....interesting you said that. Diet Coke has aspertame! Just looked it up online. Diet Coke does NOT cause me to have migraines. So far only the Coke Zero. Although now I'm drinking closee to 80 oz of water a day and really, truly, there isn't ROOM for a diet coke!!! :) In fact, I think I may have convinced the family that we drink such a small amount of soda that we should sell the Skybox! :earseek: Now if only KT's friend wouldn't have broken it when she had a sleepover!!! Grrrrrr.

Just got back from taking Jordan to the doctor. She'd landed on her foot wrong at dance early in the week, and was also complaining of a sore throat. She was up all night last night and had a fever this morning of 103°. Her rapid strep test came back positive, so she's got antibiotics for that, and then he sent us to get an xray of her foot. He thinks it's ligaments....which is worse for her than if she'd broken something.
Back home now, ate some soup, took a pill and going to lay down. Just once I wish I could stay home and rest when I need to! Oh well, I signed on for the Mom job. :)

Had to 4 wheel it to get through the mounds of mud and yuck. Not going to go back out for the rest of the weekend!

We may have a muddy mess down at the creek, but we sure had a pretty sky the other night. Was going to post the picture I took, but it was huge....will have to make it smaller and try again. Sorry.
