5/27/06 "Il pochi il fiero i blabbermouths" We *will* sail again Part 11

My cruise clothes are all set aside, ready to pack...except the formal dress I picked up from the tailor on my way to the airport last Monday. It's on the backseat of my car. At least, it was when I left Phoenix.
Vicki said she's having a hard time finding a dress, too, Diana. Too bad I can't buy them for you guys. There's a department store here (like Dillard's) called Younkers. They're having a sale, and I got a dress for $20 that I'm saving to wear on the Norwegian cruise. And they're brand name dresses!
If I had an idea of size and style, I'd be happy to go look.

I wish I had the cruise DVD to watch on the plane ride home. I went looking for a new movie to watch the other day when we stopped at WalMart, but all the movies are just so yuckky.
Had an e-mail from Megan. She said it's beautiful...but humid. And she said the pollen is about to kill her. I do know that the job would involve setting up computer systems for businesses, and follow-up repairs and maintenance. I just don't see where her degree in Medical Assisting (that Jay & I paid for) fits in to this new plan. Seems like an awful waste of time and money for that degree. Oh well.
Pretty day today. Cooler, and the humidity is down. Getting VERY homesick!

Well, Jim and Sharon, I know Saturday night the 16th is not one of your nights to be in Orlando. So we don't expect you to make yet another trip! But if you have any suggestions about a good place for our "emergency supply stop" on the way to the port, that would be appreciated. Someplace with Banfi!

ABC is just about the only place near PC that stocks it.

abcfinewineandspirits.com gives the locations.

If you call them ahead of time they can make sure some is there for you.

Have a safe trip.

One thing I guess I havn't been clear enough with. This isn't a dvd player dvd. This is a dvd pc dvd. Not going to do anything in a set top or portable dvd movie device, unless it has some feature to browse a windows based dvd-rom to view picture files in its own.

And I have release candidate two done, just need to make a test run through on another machine here in the house then I can start on copies.

I was just "wishing" for something as entertaining as our DVD to watch....no rush. The longer we wait, the more cherished it will be!
I think, or I could have sworn, that my new DVD player could accept different types of files...but maybe that's the newer one I'd bought for the house, especially since we had trouble viewing the disks we'd had made of Jay's dad's old slides. ?? I did buy "Ella Enchanted" (is that the correct title?) That looked cute, and I hadn't seen it.
How much is the price of the wine package onboard? If we got the package, could it be all (or almost all) Banfi? We still need to stop and get Pepsi...or I guess I can get that in St Thomas.

I know, but nobody puts more pressure on me than me. I want it done no less than anyone else as I want to move on to the next project already waiting, website updates and button making for the next DVC member cruise. Takes so long as I am very methodical as I find it keeps me from making any major mistakes. Sofar the worst has been minor in that the slideshows were finishing with an error message because of a file windows was putting in each folder for thumbnails. I don't expect my test run should bring up anything else, and I can get started on making copies very soon.

Ella is a fun movie. I've seen it so many times now, because the sat was running it almost daily for a few months, that I can usually quote the script.

Why not put some Banfi in your checked luggage?

I hauled wine in checked luggage, hard sided, to Alaska and it worked fine. I would not think that Banfi would be any different. :confused3

And no, not packed yet. I still need another formal dress, that's a hard one. Seems like the stores here are only carrying prom dresses for juniors. And THAT isn't going to work.

Oh yes, I remember that --- our 25th Anniversary e renewed our vows on the beach in Hawaii......(Sam did not know until we got there)...anyway he had a nice new suit, I had an old hawaiian dress so I went shopping, nt my favourite pstime at best...me and every 16 year old in town in the dressin room at the same time. I had Mothers younger than I giving me fashion advice, wearing the same dress as their daughter was scarey - more so for the 16 year old I think.....finally found a perfect dress......

Good question, But why do I have the nagging feeling that you only get one bottle of the sparkling on the wine package - cannot say for sure ????????? Hope I am wrong - anyone know????????????????????

And Stacey - at least one bottle of FairyTale......!!!!!!!!

We picked up one from the hotel store. It will be on it's way to Amelia Island.....along with a 6 pack of Carib and the Anniversary bottle of rum for our friends......did I say this was a working trip.....better re-check the priorities.

Cannot wait - wake up to a sunrise and walk along the ocean.....ahhhhhhhh

Then back to bed to wake up at a decent time......

GOOD MORNIN ALL

we have 3 new kittens they are named 1 2 3

just for now???????? guess WHAT TIME THEY WERE BORN?????????????

have a good day all

Which was fine with me b/c then I knew we were switching to someone else's pictures. Had they just all blended together I wouldn't have kept track of it! :)

Haven't watched the end of the slideshow yet.....we started SCHOOL yesterday! :)

Plus the kids auditioned Sunday night. Pianist totally screwed Nick's music up and that part went very badly for him. The rest went well. KT's went ok....but just average when compared with some of the very well trained, seasoned girls that were there. And seeing that there were exactly TWO boys there and about 20 girls......
The audition last night (I heard from a friend) did have a few more boys, but again...lots of girls)

Which explains why Nick got a callback for tonight and KT did not. :(
She was quite distraught last night, but she was NOT upset about the play.....she got a full set of braces yesterday and they HURT!!!

Must run. Mike needs me in the basement. That's where I keep him. I learned it from Sandi! :) :lmao:

:tinker:Good morning cruisers :tinker:

Happy Tuesday!

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: More proof that we learn ALL the best stuff from the DIS! Downy Wrinkle Releaser, Banfi, hubbys in the basement... hmm... I don't HAVE a basement... but then again, its football season, so its really a moot point.

Hope all is well with KT's braces... Elizabeth just got her Herbst & expander off... which means she's halfway done!!

What's a Herbst? Is that the bottom expander? If so, Nick gets his next week. He already had the top palate expander several years ago. :earseek:

:grouphug: to KT! So you are hoping that Nick doesn't get the part right? Here's hoping for whatever you are hoping for.

If I spent more time in Karen's basement I might be able to lose some pounds before my October cruise. :cool1:
