Hi guys...thanks for the well-wishes. No word yet on the surgery.

Been trying to stay busy and stay cool. At least our temps dropped to the low 90's yesterday and today is cloudy, and cooler. Maybe we'll finally get more than 2 drops of rain!

I guess I'll stick around for this. Is this the T.O.P. you guys were trying for??

T.O.P. So easily amused, I am.

Sherry, knowing that Bryce is a teenage boy we all know he will not post any trip details. If you are lucky he will tell you about the trip.

Please post some details, if you ever hear any. :rotfl2:

After all, I learned more about Matt in CR by reading his Myspace site.

Jim, I must admit I was impressed by the couple of emails from Matt you posted while he was in Costa Rica. It was hard to make out the short, rushed ones Bryce sent us!

I have gotten a little info out of him here and there. He says he had a GREAT time and is planning on going back next summer. Hopefully they'll have him back :goodvibes It would likely be for 7 weeks next year. Everyone got along except for one kid from Vegas. He whined about everything and noone liked him. Four of the counselors got NBH'd (next boat home). Bryce was able to dive 6 times. One was a night dive. He said he wouldn't make a hobby out of it - the divers lights bothered his eyes or something like that. Another dive was to 100 feet. He did complete his Advanced Certification. The only creature he made note of was a horn shark that was curled up and sleeping so he says. He got to go cliff jumping. He "got" to wear the chicken costume twice......something about clowning around (imagine that) and doing skits and stuff. He did say that wearing carpet in 100 degrees wasn't fun. The free time they had was from around noon Saturdays to after lunch on Sunday's. They'd get an hour or so other days. They were kept very busy. He didn't have a chance to even open any of the 3 books he'd taken with him. All of which are in the lost bag! They did get to go by boat from Emerald Bay around to Avalon on Saturday the 15th and see POC2. I'm sure there's much more but this is the jist of what I've heard so far!

The missing suitcase has not shown up. Why couldn't it have been the one that made it home that was missing instead!!!!! Oh well.

OH NO.....AT LEAST NO ONE WAS HURT...AND NO POLICE REPORT.....

POOR SHANE - WEL, HE GOT HIS FIRST ACCIDENT UNDER HIS BELT......

The "other" car has been repaired and it's back in the owners hands. It was $710.56. It could have been a lot more. The receipt says something to the effect of repairs complete to rear quadrant and paid in full. Our truck needs a front end alignment - not entirely because of the accident. I'll have to get an appointment for next week. It's just sat since the incident. Alan and Shane tuned it up today. Alan said he made Shane change the hard to reach spark plugs :teeth:

Sherry, that was quite a story. I know Kevin would be very upset if he lost his dive log. Glad everyone made it back from Mexico OK.

I suppose if you look on the bright side, Bryce's log book didn't have too much in it yet. I didn't think he was going to take it and at the last minute he grabbed it. I thought to myself - I need to make photocopies when he gets back..............

We are finally all back home! :thumbsup2

Lisa and I picked Matt up Friday night at MCO. We meet Sharon at the Contemporary because she was at a conference.

The best part of the evening was having dinner with Kristin, Virgil's DD. She brought all her pictures and we got to see the tour of the space shuttle. Pretty cool. It was fun hearing her stories. Sorry Virgil, we kept her out late. It was midnight before she left the Contempory. She was heading back to the Cape and then down to Ft. Lauderdale to meet a friend.

Saturday we meet RachelTori family at AllStar Cafe! Two DIS meets in two days. :cool1: Matt thought it was pretty cool, hasn't been home in 8 weeks and gets two DIS meets in before going home. :lmao:

We ate and talked for 2 hours in a crowded Allstar Cafe. I had to buy Lisa a new light up football because I bet her that at least two of RachelTori would be wearing their Double Scoop Shirts. I was wrong and lost.

They have an exciting week planned at WDW. Food and parks. At least someone admitted they have an addiction to WDW. You would have to inorder to stand the heat. Way to hot for me. :guilty:

I ran Saturday in Fort Wilderness. Cool place and so different from staying in the hotels, but still Disney. Sharon actually agreed to camping there before our tickets run out. That was a miracle! Today we found out in church that the kids are spending Night of Joy weekend at Fort Wilderness. Now we don't know if Sharon will go camping or not. It's just fun to see her camp! :rotfl:

Now it is chores time.

That should be fun. Our bunch is going in on Friday afternoon, (let's hope the A/C on our bus is fixed by then!!!!!!!) coming back Friday night... we've got to be at the football field first thing the next morning... that's gonna be a long day!!!!

Of course, they are begging me to chaperone again... we had a great time at Busch Gardens this week- they really are such a great bunch of kids! (But I was practically sleeping in my meeting the next morning... I think I'm getting old.)

I can't wait to see her pics.... she's told me all about her experiences so far - but the pics are waiting until she returns.... Glad you all got to get together - when she called and was on the way to the Contemporary - she was worried that you might have eaten - I told her - it's OK - Matt can eat again if necessary... :rotfl:

I can't believe that she forgot to bring her TomTom GPS with her - would have made it much easier navigating around FL.

Oh well... back to work....

Let me be the first to say this: JEALOUSHow great that your kids youth groups do things like camping at Ft. Wilderness and go to WDW. If the churches here did that, maybe I could get DD to join in.

Sounds like a fun weekend, Scubas. Didn't know Kristin would be there. Are you going to buy a nice RV so Sharon will go camping?

There are some perks living here in Florida...beaches...diving....WDW for the day....

I'm not allowed to have a RV. After driving pretty much straight through from Texas to Michgan she ban me from driving them. It's wasn't my fault....the books on tape was really good. :lmao:

She will be tenting, but she might have an out. We are running out of weekends and the park is full.:confused3

WE GOT RAIN!!! :cheer2: And lots of it. Our creek is running!! YIPPEEEEEE!!!!

Yesterday was a pretty darn good day, if you ask me. Jordan got home from dance camp...this was for the school's Spirit Line. There were schools there from all over, Utah, California, Oregon.... It was a UDA thing. Her team got second place for the best "Home Routine" or something like that. SHe got to bring home the trophy. And she got 3 individual blue ribbons. But she was tired. Lots of blisters.

I spent the day getting all sorts of little things done, things that I kept pushing aside "til later". Really nice to have that stuff done.

Jordan and I went to the mall last night....just for fun, although I don't think it was all that much fun for either of us, we both ached pretty bad. But still, it beat just sitting home, and I got to hear ALL the camp stories. Now that the creek is running, I'm glad we did go last night, I wouldn't have been happy that I couldn't have gotten out today. But now I don't care.

I talked to my parents...they're waiting for the doctor to call back. He hadn't returned their phone call on Friday, so if they don't hear anything by mid-day tomorrow, they'll call again. It's tough to have made a hard decision and then have to wait.

Guess I'll go see what other little things I can find to do.

We're home. Did you even know we were gone? :lmao:

Spent the weekend camping in Mohican. My parents were there with their trailer so we stayed with them. Good times. Lots of food. A bit too hot for my liking, but bearable.

It was GREAT to get home and jump in the shower though!!!!

WOW! Come home to a U TOP!

pixiedust: pdfg and Sam's siter and the Galle family.....I know I'm missing SOMEONE....

You make me sooooo thankful that NO ONE in my family camps!!!!! I never have a reason to go 3 days without a shower or a comfortable bed!!!!

Saw a very scary, potentialy horrible thing at camping....
We were at our campsite on Saturday....
And there were these paragliders that kept going over the campground. They are very loud and annoying. Anyway, one of them was flying a lot lower than the others.....and he seemed to be showing off. He was flying so low we could see him clearly.....feet just dangling over the soybean field across the little access road. He was waving and thumbs up-ing all of the campers along the river. We thought he must be going to land b/c he was so low. Then our sight of him was blocked by the camper and all of a sudden the motor on his unit went dead and the power lines and pole by our campsite started wiggling like crazy. We ran to the other side of the camper and there was his chute lying on the top of the soybeans, but he was not visible. Here he had flown so low he hit the power lines that crossed the soybean field which knocked him right out of the sky!!! He wasn't moving at all (well, not that I could tell b/c he was lower than the level of the soybeans) I was running through the soybean field (family close behind me---my mom yelling to get the cell phone) and I was within about 15 feet of him when he finally popped up. He was all grins and acting like a big jerk. Thumbs up-ing us saying "man, that was COOL!" My dad was 1/2 way into the field by then and had his cell phone out and the guy goes "did you get pictures of that??? did you take pictures of me hitting those wires??? that was awesome."

Jerk.
He convinced some other camper to haul him back to the paragliding place in his truck. He was smiling the whole time. Here Mike and I were ready to do CPR on the moron after hitting power lines and he's acting all cocky like he MEANT to do that!!

In hitting those power lines, btw, he knocked out our power and the camper fridge was out for about 3 hours until the electric company got out there and fixed the transformer that was busted in the crash.

Anyway....glad he's alright, but it just proves what being cocky and showing off can get you! :)
