We actually got to sleep with the sliders OPEN last night!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:
Sure has been awhile since we've been able to do that!!!

It even got below 70 here last night!!!

I turned the air conditioning off yesterday, for the first time since March...It was heaven to have the windows open. :sunny: Turned it back on by last night - the humidity kicked back up. A small teaser of good weather - it'll be 90 today.

It's A... Boy? ... Girl?.... It's ... Too early to tell...

Matriarch Mom Gives Birth to Newest Member of the Shamu Family
(Wednesday, Sept. 20, Busch Entertainment Announcement)
SeaWorld Orlando welcomed a new baby killer whale to the Shamu family on Sept. 18. The calf’s mother, Katina, gave birth to the 7-foot-long, 350-pound newborn at 3:23 p.m. in SeaWorld Orlando’s multimillion-gallon research and breeding facility, Shamu Stadium, following a 1 1/2-hour labor. Moments later, the baby whale instinctively swam to the surface of the water for its first breath of air. The calf began nursing within hours. The matriarch of the SeaWorld Orlando Shamu family, Katina is also the mother of the first baby whale to be born and successfully raised in the care of humans more than 20 years ago. She is 18 feet long and weighs 5,400 pounds. SeaWorld animal care specialists remain cautiously optimistic about the progress of the baby and its mother. The sex of the calf is yet to be determined.

How embarrassing to publish her weight!!! After all, a good bit of that is probably baby weight. :) She'll get that off quickly (or if she's like me, she'll still be hauling some of it around 12 and 9 yrs later! :)

CONGRATULATIONS, KATINA!!!!

Ok, I thought I saw bizarre gift registries for the last wedding we went to, but this one is just odd.

My nephew (26yrs old) is getting married in December (we'll be at WDW.)
They registered at Sears and Target.
Their Sears registry includes towels, bathroom stuff and a bunch of stuff from the automotive department (motorcycle/ATV jack, tools, foam mats for the floor, etc) Their Target registry includes some household stuff AND candy corn (about 12 bags in different flavors,) board games, a box of Pamprin, and an ant farm. :confused3 :confused3:confused3

I told Mike I might just get them 10 bags of candy corn and call it done!!

:lmao: Do you think maybe their "shopping list" got mixed in with their Registry?!!!

I think people get 'scan happy' with the barcode readers that they give you to roam the store with when you're setting up a registry. I'd go for the most bizarre things on the list... hey, THEY asked for it!!!!!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Especially when the entire corporation gets the birth announcement via e-mail!!!! (She's one of our heavier employees...) Hmmm... will she get 12 weeks of FMLA leave??? Will they hold her job if she's out any longer, or just give it to some other fish in the sea?

I wonder if they'll let us know if she's got post-partum depression... then I could REALLY relate to her!!!!

Well, if THAT is the case she should take it to the ACLU.....seeing as the job of a mammal cannot be done by a fish!!! The fish would be way underqualified!!!

Well - off to the World for a couple of days. Since Frances is lounging on the Wonder - Lauren and I are heading to WDW when I pick her up from school today. We'll be staying at the VWL (our first time there). Jason flew in from England yesterday and is already at WDW - he stayed on my points last night at SSR. Kristin is flying down in the morning. We have tickets for MNSSHP tomorrow night - so we're really looking forward to the trip. The Scubas are coming over on Saturday - and we have dinner reservations at Whispering Canyon - should definitely be a rowdy time....

I heard from Frances via phone yesterday - they had a great time in St. Johns - and then ate at Palo last night. Then they retired to the Walt to eat chocolate covered strawberries and drink Banfi. Today is St Lucia and whale watching....

PDFG and for everybody else that needs it....

Take care!

Don't know if anyone follows the budget board, but I found some info on there that may help someone, so I'm sharing it....

I called my cable company (time warner) and just said "i'm thinking about switching to satellite but i thought i'd check and see if you guys were running any specials....."....

well, surprise, surprise,....they were....my cable/roadrunner bill will now be $31 less per month for the next 18 months (at which point i can re-call and check on what the current specials are.)

just thought it might help someone!!!

btw, it's kinda like the cancelling AOL thing they had on there recently. two quick calls have saved me over $45 a month!!! :)

Hi All --- Back in town - off to a business meeting.

Glad that all horses and whales and shuttles and posters are ok....

Those of you traveling - Vir - enjoy WDW....

Bye-bye.

Filled up on $1.99/gal gas today!!!

There's a 30 cent difference within a 5 mile radius of our house :sad2:

Monica -- that is great. Cheapest gas here is $2.29 and that is at Costco. I of course was thrilled because just about 8 weeks ago it was $2.89. With three cars now, that definitely makes a difference in our pocketbook

Is anyone else getting antsy about the 2008 dates coming out. I am dying to know, the anticipation (wah, wah, wah).

I'm anxiously awaiting the dates. It's fun watching the rumor hysteria over on the main board - I guess we'll book and then keep our fingers crossed the school schedule will cooperate to join everyone on the "do-over."
