I'm going to miss you by a month :( I'll be at WDW 28th of September until October 5th - this is my annual "Ladies Only" for Food & Wine :woohoo:

awww shucks! I would postpone mine, as I prefer food and wine, but seeing as I am limited on vacation days and everyone is spoken for thru the end of the year, Iwas counting on that "FREE" Monday because it is labor Day and we are all off anyways!

How long is the world cruise and what ship??
Info please!!!!

He is debating between HA and Radisson. Probably will do HA because they include laundry service.

It will be 4 months.

Pricing and schedules are not out yet, but he is going to put his name on the waiting lists to make sure he gets the room he wants.

We (me and kids) were about "this" close to being there exactly during your trip. But then I decided even though it was very hard to give up the free dining- that I just didn't want to go and spend so much (mostly on the flight for us four!) for such a short trip (we'd have to go 28th-2nd only, because of the kids school schedule). I would have had to buy 1 day tickets for us all for the dining plan plus longer (cheaper) 7 or 10 day tickets for 2 of us, plus the flight and ofcourse we'd want to do MNSSHP- it just all added up to over $2000 (closer to 3) and I said nah.... nevermind. LOL

I do hope they do the free dining next year too though- I'll probably want to go again then since we won't be going again (before the cruises) until June 2008. *fingers crossed*

Yeah - that's a lot of money for a short trip - better you put it toward the Do-Over!! ;)

Right now I'm booked at POFQ with the free dining, but if AP rates come out, I might drop the dining.

Good night, all!

Sorry, I'd stick with OKW. Because I've stayed at a Value resort, and I'd much, much rather stay at OKW. It's nicer, quieter, two queen beds vs. doubles, and you don't have to stand in the aisle every single bus trip.

Did you waitlist a standard view at BWV, Amanda?

I did just like you suggested! Thank you! The lady didnt really give me any detail on how it works, just that she waitlisted me, can you give me the gist of it? If you can spare the time?

Did you ask that they call you, or did you make it automatic? If the former, they will call and ask if you still want to make the change, and then you have a day or two to call back. If automatic, they just switch you, and send you a new confirmation. It doesn't hurt to call every few weeks to check on it, sometimes there's a cancellation and they just give it to you. Even though they say they don't do that.

All this talk about the women's trip makes me start wondering.....when can the guys go away with the wives and kids? :rotfl:

That should stir the pot for a while!!!!

Did you REALLY mean WITH???

John is already planning a photo trip with Kevin somewhere in the middle of nowhere Texas...Dueling D200s :lmao:

So, I figure a 2007 mom's trip would be just about right! I've already done WDW with a childhood friend without our children - (and on Maggie's B-Day ) so, no problem leaving them behind...

They kids want me to go away more often - it's fun when Dad's in charge :thumbsup2

We are having a taste of that next year but I just informed DH that is what I want for my next BIG birthday so to start saving for it now!!!!
Wonder if Princess has a round the world cruise and by then I would hope to have free laundry too :teeth: :teeth:

No, what I was saying, not that we could eat for $200 during that time, but that it would save $200 by using points and dining plan as opposed to cash OOP and free dining at POP...And I was joking about the ramen noodles (unless your were going to send some money to the AMANDA WDW fund) but I was not joking about the toilet paper! it is gone!
Last year, I took all 4 kids by myself, ages 9 8 5 and 2. My Steve says he doesnt know how I do it. I just do. We are happy there. I would be with them alnoe here at home, so I would rather be with them alone at WDW!

Ooh, well then no question- if you're saving $200 AFTER using points and getting the dining plan... then that's a no brainer. I thought you were saying it was $200 cheaper if you go with the points but then you'd have to buy food the entire time! Sorry about the confusion.

LOL about the Amanda WDW fund. Sorry- right now we're contributing to the Shelley/Jeff/Robert/Ruby/Rita WDW/cruise fund. :rotfl: What's up with the toilet paper though? Were you stocked up from a sale or something and ran out? Or just don't want to go to the store? If it's the latter- I'm with you on that. I keep procrastinating doing that- I'm going to have to give in and go grocery/etc. shopping soon. Darnit. LOL

It's the 2yr old that makes me say you're more woman than me. LOL Sure I'd be home with them alone anyway while DH at work but it wouldn't be 24/7 alone- and um, I do less at home than at WDW. LOL When we go to WDW we make the most of our time and not a whole lot of relaxing. (maybe someday when we are DVC members too! LOL)
You must have very well behaved children.. not heathens like mine. :confused3 I do good to keep up with my 3 (only 2 hands yanno!) at older ages much less try it with a wee one added to the mix. LOL Mine are a bit hyper though- atleast the older two are..
Maybe you just have more patience or higher stress threshold than myself or something. Anywho- I bow to you. LOL I can do it- but not with a stroller, diaper clad (atleast my last 2 were at 2yrs old- not sure about Nathan) little one, etc. That's just not my idea of fun. You go girl! :)

Oh and I meant to say earlier- some of your posts had me laughing out loud! Especially the one about the AP temptation to renew/etc. LOL

Yep, especially because our "do over" we're planning on doing back to back cruises! And we'll probably do a "me and kids" WDW trip next summer as well- we can't go that long without a Mickey fix! June 2006 to june 2008 without a Mickey fix? I don't think so! LOL

Sorry, Sharon! Can't do DL and WDW within a single month! It was fun, though. We need to do all that again. One of these days, all these kids will be grown, you know?

Well, yeah, but then we'll be paying for college.....:sad1:

Please see my above comment about scuba trips. Alicia being along does not negate the guy-ness of the trips!

Oh, I get it. Jim wants to go on a trip with Jay!

Where's the drink warning??!! :lmao:

Diana,

My name is Theresa. I really didn't meet that many people as I had hoped to on board but if any of you remember a little girl with squeeky shoes, that would be my Maddy Jade. So I would be in close proximity or you can wait for Mark to send out the CD/DVD of pics. Mine should be going out to him today with my $5. I do hope to make it any mini dis meets near me or if we will be close to anybody else out there, so in the mean time I'll just keep dis'ing.
