I'll have to drag Jay's sorry be-hind over to see his birthday wishes...THANK YOU! Maybe he'll even post. Don't hold your breath, though.

I was a little tongue-in-cheek when I offered up the suggestion for the back to back...staying on the ship thing.

We couldn't do a back to back, either. No way could we be gone that long.

BUT.....a thread on the main board inspired me......

What if DCL decides to do a "special" sailing in 2008 (which seems to be the pattern) and goes to HAWAII ????

I am so totally IN for that!!!

Didn't we get a survey a while back, asking where we would like DCL to go? I think that was the reason that the Mediterranean cruises happened. Alaska was on there, too, I don't remember Hawaii.

:dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

Happy Birthday John!!!

(I like bands and dancing at parties)

I didnt want you to log off while I was asking..
There is a girl in my 0916 thread that is ??? doing David and Ivans tour..here is the thing she will have an 18mnth and a 4 year old with her..I do not know if she will be taking a stroller or not, but to me that seems tough....having done it..what would you say?

Stacey - Hawaii would be fantastic. While possible I don't think it is probable that DCL would go there in 2008.

Those of you cruising before us just head over to Parrot Cay before they start boarding and ask for 10-15 tables for all your friends who are coming on. :lmao: We usually eat up at Topsiders but hey if the party is going to get started early.

Captain took a vote at the Castaway Club meeting on the Mexican Riviera cruise...he asked for a show of hands for : The Med, Hawaii, and Alaska....so maybe Hawaii would still be a possibility. I did read all of Horace Horsecollar's reason why they wouldn't do Hawaii, but he needs to factor in the point that Disney has ways of making the impossible, possible.

Was the David and Ivan tour at Costa Maya? What did you (if you saw them) think of the ruins there?
We're thinking of a Ruin tour at Costa Maya in December......anyone???

Would have my Mom and Dad with us, which is the same as taking two three year olds.

Having done Tulum once - we enjoyed it - but I think we'd like Xcaret this time if the weather is warm enough in December....

I didnt see them! haha thats why I was asking Sandi..ruins...not my thing....sipping (read as gulping) margartias on the beach with the magic in the background...sign me up :-)

We did the same tour (with Sandi and family!) and there's no way I'd take an 18mo old. Even the 4yr old is pushing it. We had our "almost" 6yr old, 8yr old and 12yr old and honestly none of them were very thrilled with the whole thing. They did some exploring of their own pretty much the entire time and I spent the time keeping up with them and didn't really get to listen to much that Ivan was saying. :( (DH was "volunteered" to be the backpack carrier- of which we really didn't need but we didn't know that at the time! Anyway, it was packed down with drinks, snacks, etc. and it was heavy... he was rooted in one spot whenever Ivan stopped to talk-so atleast HE got to hear everything he said. I, of the non-backpack-carrying variety kept up with the kids)

No way a stroller could go really-unless it's an off road stroller? :rotfl: Seriously- it's all walking on dirt/ground/rocks/up down steps, etc.

I guess a shorter tour than we took, with also going back if you're tired (to the "market" area- they aren't going to drive you back the 50min drive by yourself if you want to leave early) etc. might work. We didn't even think about that- just kept going on with the tour. It was very hot during the time we went too though... made it seem longer. There's just no way I'd take a toddler.

This was our very first cruise and very first port of call BESIDES Disney owned castaway cay. In hindsight we probably would have enjoyed the ruins (and the tour in general) a lot more if we'd went on our own and the kids stayed on the ship in the club and lab. (they'd have enjoyed that more too- everyone happy LOL plus it would have cost less! For us it was $68 per person doing the "experience" with lunch) Now the lunch thing- we all enjoyed that including the kids... good thing that was after the ruins- it made up for it with the kids and then overall it was a good experience.

PS Stacy, can you please give me some information on the snorkeling company you used in Costa Maya? I am interested in that for Sept also, any more pics of the area you were at or the boat or whatever to do with costa snorkeling you did? I would greatly appreciate it???? (bats eyelashes again )
