Don't think we do. At least not those names. Couldn't even tell you where a liquor store was in this town. Our Kroger has an area they gate off at night and on Sundays....I think that's where I want to get to (where all the high test stuff is) but seems like I can only make it over there (you guessed it) at night and on Sunday.

I'll share the recipe in case anyone wants it. The picture of it looks REALLLLLLLLY good (got it from Martha Stewart's "Everyday Food" magazine which is great....I've gotten LOTS of good recepes from there:

ROASTED PINEAPPLE

1 medium pineapple (3 pounds)
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
1/3 cup packed light brown sugar
2 tablespoons honey
1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice or ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon dark rum
raspberry sorbet, for serving (optional)

Preheat oven to 400 degrees with rack in upper third. Using a chef's knife, slice off top and bottom ends of pineapple. Following the fruit's natural shape and working from top to bottom, slice off skin in strips; cut away any "eyes." Quarter lengthwise; remove tough core. Cut each quarter into 4 pieces lengthwise.

Place butter in an 8 inch square (2 quart) baking dish, and melt in oven, 6 minutes.

Arrange pineapple in the dish. In a small bowl, stir together brown sugar, honey, pie spice and rum.

Spoon sugar mixture over pineapple. Bake until tender and bubbly, about 1 hour. Serve warm or at room temperature with sorbet, if desired.

yummy - thanks....we have stores that sell Rum and we have fresh pineapple (soon).

Jim - the pineapple is a perfect plant for our cruise theme....the plant that keeps on giving --- each time we harvest a pineapple we save the top and replant it....don't know what generation we are working on now......just like the cruise....one cruise, another, another....and so on and so on....

Good morning all!

I went to a beginner scrapbooking class at Michael's last night. I was the only one there. It was more or less to show me the products available rather than how to lay out a page. Oh well! The lady doing it said that she wished she knew that I wanted to do a Disney scrapbook. She lived in FL and personally has tons of Disney stuff that she could have showed me. Oh well! I did buy a few things. This is expensive!!! I spent $60 to hopefully get me started. I'm sure I'll want more.

Have fun, it's addictive....

Vent away, Amanda. I just wish there was something more that I could do besides sending the pd your waypixiedust: :tinker: . It really could happen to any of us.

UTOP!

Oh Amanda- I'm so sorry. I can't even imagine how you are feeling.. my heart sank when I read your post and it's not even my $900! I would be inconsolable- as I'm sure you are too... but here anyway {{{mega huge hugs from Shelley}}}

I hope somehow (prayers and pixie dust coming your way!) it turns up. A pox on the person that took your wallet (either out of your pocket or picked it up if you dropped it). A pox on them I say. :( :furious:

Amanda...I teared up for you! I get upset with myself, but it was an accident. Those happen. Let's pray for a good samaratian to find it for you.

Question for you scrapbookers ... the girl last night suggested using Coluzzle templates. Do any of you use them?

Ang
Hi Angie,

I don't scrapbook (but I think I will have to start, we have tons of pictures from our 2004 Disney Cruise and this last one) I do use my Coluzzle template for my rubber stampin. I have the round and oval set. I like it alot, it's pretty easy to use and we use it to make cards and projects all the time. I got mine from Stampin Up, I just got a Oriental trading catalog in today with crafts and saw other templates which I just might order since they were fairly inexpensive. It's pretty neat because they have a variety of sizes on one template you can choose from to get the best fit.

Ohminnie...that recipe sounds fantastic! Can I make it with the freshly-sliced pineapple at the store? Yes, I'm lazy!

I don't see why not. Don't the stores also sell whole pineapples that are cored and peeled already? That may work better b/c you can spear them instead of using thin slices (although I'd think if you just used the slices you'd just cook it shorter so they don't get mushy)

Happy Friday!

We'll be leaving soon to head up to Milwaukee for the weekend. Should be a nice weekend - not too hot and no rain.

Angie - I've never used the Coluzzle, but I have used some cutting templates from Creative Memories that I like. I found the key is to find something you are comfortable using and then you'll use it a lot. I have some things that I've bought that I've only used a couple of times because I just didn't like them.

Ohiominnie- what's up with swimsuits lately? Ruby's disney one was looking pretty ragged after only wearing it a few times on the cruise and yesterday at the waterpark it hit it's last leg... it was so stretched out and almost see thru in some areas because of stretching out and just hanging off her in places!- within an hour of being there I had to leave and take her to walmart to buy a new swimsuit! (she can't have her swimsuit like "see thru"... she's is in full blown puberty for crying out loud! LOL)

Dunno. In fact, KT's other bathing suit (from LLBean) has faded terribly! The top is alright (except the trim around the arms) but the bottom colors are more pastelly than the bright colors they were. Must call LLBean about that too. She did swim.....A LOT.....on vacation, but I've had suits in the past (usually Lands' End) that lasted an entire summer or more and KT LIVED in the pool.

Now maybe the difference is we keep our cholorine at a safe level, whereas Disney may keep it at the high end of safe (b/c of.....well, let's not go there)

:grouphug: Amanda. Your story just broke my heart. I feel so badly for you. I'm praying that whoever found your wallet has the common decency to turn it in or get it back to you. I know YOU would do that if you found someone else's wallet.....so let's hope!! :grouphug:

Nope it is Pluto - just how many characters did you have post like that.

Pam - were you in on this from the start? Wow you share a 2 bedroom with someone and you think you no them. :rotfl:

uh....a few. unfortunately Pam didn't think of it until near the end of our character meal. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

actually, I thought of it at LTT at the very end of the meal when I saw Goofy do it to the girls at the table next to us. When he got to us I asked if he'd do it again. Then it didn't cross my mind again until near the end of the Garden Grill meal several days later! :) My intent was only to have one (Goofy) but then with all the giggling that Pam and the clan was doing about it, they kinda goaded me on!!! :lmao: :lmao:

Karen - When are you going to be at WDW in December? If possible, maybe we could meet up with you. Let us know so we can get it on our "schedule". I'll understand if your time is already filled up. Just let us know.

We're heading down the Wednesday of Thanksgiving week. Staying with Mike's mom for a few days. Then we'll be at Disney from Nov 26th-December 10th. My parents will be with us the first week of that. Mike's dad and step mom the second week. Will try to get together with you guys at some point. :)

Yup. Me too. Some of the stuff I have I tought would be the perfect thing, but turned out not to work as well as I'd have liked!

I also have the cutting templates from Creative Memories. They took a bit of getting used to and I found that I have to stand up when I do them to get the right amount of pressure, but now I LOVE them! I also like their paper trimmers. Had a Fiskars for awhile that was so frustrating b/c I could NOT get it to cut a straight line! Finally chucked it for the CM one and couldn't be happier!

I've also got Sizzix and Sizzlets and Quickutz and you name it! :) Of course, I got it all b/c KT wanted to scrapbook! :)

I hate myself today and I do mean hate...

I never ever carry cash. I like to use my debit or credit cards...EXCEPT when we are on vacation. I just returned from vacation June 4th.

Being the lazy person I am, I have not taken my funds back to the bank yet. $900 worth of funds. I know I am stupid. Stupid stupid stupid...I told myself right b4 I left for lunch, oh crud I gotta put that back in the bank or I am going to lose it.

Do you see where this is going? I grab my wallet for lunch. I take the whole thing, like an idiot. I walk over to subway. I order, I pay. I fix my drink. I realize my Ipod and my wallet are in the same pocket. Oh no, cant have that one or the other may fall out. I move wallet to other pocket.

Fix my drink walk to work. Eat my lunch, return to work, reach in pocket to return wallet to purse. Wallet not there! Dont panic Amanda. you left it in the break room. Walk back to break room, not there. Heart skips a beat. Dont panic Amanda, co workers playing a joke on you. Ask co workers, nope they are not messing with me.

Walk fastly BACK to subway, dont get to paniced Amanda, or you will feel like a fool when some good soul has turned it in. Ask manager, wallet turned in? NOPE. PANIC mode sets in. Retrace steps Amanda. Maybe you set it down and you will laugh about this when you find it in the fridge in the breakroom, or in the restroom. NOPE.

Tears and panic now. Back to SUBWAY again. Are you sure no one has turned it in? NOPE...TEARSS TEARS AND MORE TEARS....back to work....cry again..coworker suggests I check trash cans in SUBWAY and around in case someone trashed it...back to SUBWAY...nope not in trash cans....just like that...in the blink of an eye...it is gone. I do not know if I set it down, or if I was pickpocketed. I have been crying all afternoon and I am just sick about it. I have had that $$ in my wallet for 2 weeks now, and thought about paying for stuff with it, but said nah...I like my cards then I can see exactly what I spent where.. iwill just put this iin the bank..STUPID STUPID STUPID...I keep hoping that maybe the person who picked it up, just has not been able to get in touch with me yet. That is very unlikely. $900!!!!!!$900!!!!!!!I think of the OT the Steve worked in order for us to have such a luxirious vacation and I just wasted it away in a second and it breaks my heart. I think of the plans I had for that money, and I get so upset....I am sooo upset right now I just needed to vent

Oh, Amanda,

I'm so very sorry to read your post. This is one of those times when you just wish you could turn back the hands of time. How many times each of us has had an experience where we've said that. I pray that somehow you'll find it. If not, I pray that you'll forgive yourself and not be so hard on yourself. You were trying to be careful. Sometimes these things happen in life and we have to learn and grow because of them, not tear ourselves down. You can choose to forgive yourself, you must.
I know it is a great deal of money, but that is not what life is about. You are a loving wife with terrific children. They need you. You'd forgive them, so please forgive yourself.
I hope today looks a little brighter for you.
Please let us know how you are doing.

Actually, it's all that going between the hot tub and pool that they were doing that did it. Been mentioned before on the cruise forum that the hot tubs are very rough on bright colors. Hot agitated water with even just normal amounts of chlorine will do that.
