Yep - that's our family motto!! :lmao: (has kept us out of divorce court!!)

Although.....in the meantime Mike is looking at a new, more portable camera....the Canon SD630 or the S80. Mark and Mary have created camera envy in him b/c they had a little camera that they could slip in a pocket and take to dinner. Whereas ours was so big we didn't lug it around as much so therefore missed great shots of stuff. So we'd have a "vacation" camera, and a "non-vacation" camera. :rotfl2:

That's exactly what we did. Mark has a really nice one that takes great shots but it is bulky and we would often leave it in the room. This one is so nice and small we can easily carry it with us everywhere. We love it!

See, that is EXACTLY what he was saying after looking at the cameras...
I said "it would be nice to have something smaller that we're willing to lug around. I think we're missing lots of shots b/c our camera is too big to haul everywhere."
and he said "Mark and Mary had a larger camera on the 10 day cruise----dont' know if it was digital or 35 mm, but I remember it was larger than the one they had this last time."

:confused3 Amazing how men can remember what camera someone else had 18 months prior!!!!

So now if we end up with a new camera, I'm not sure who to thank.....Virgil or Mark and Mary!! :lmao:

Took the camera into the shop yesterday. Yup, it's dirt on the sensor. $49.99 to clean it up. We actually had to take it to the other branch b/c the one we took it to was remodeling their back room....and on the way we talked about the cost vs. a do-it-yourself route. Nah. I can just picture what would happen....

Hey, honey, I'm going to clean the camera.

(5 minutes later)

OH (@^#(%()%*&^@~~!!! :earseek:

It's SO worth it to me to spend $50 to have someone who knows what they are doing in charge!!

Interestingly enough though, location #1 told us it was $59.99. When we got to location #2 they said $49.99. So it saved us $10 to drive 6 miles! :)

Great! That's reasonable.

Sounds like me. Above water camera, underwater camera. Just be careful during your search and don't get one that sacrifices quality for size. We made that mistake once. The camera was small, but took crappy pictures! :rolleyes2

btw,

:butterfly :daisy: :flower1: HAPPY FIRST DAY OF SUMMER!!!!! :flower1: :daisy: :butterfly

which means at some point today Mike will inform me that from this point forward the days will get shorter. He knows I HATE that!!!!

Well, that's important esp with the scrapbooking that KT and I do....
the S80 is 8 mega pixels (like our rebel) but is a bit bigger than the SD630. But the SD630 is only 6 megapixels. I said "I'd rather not DOWNGRADE from an 8 to a 6" and the salesman told me that I probably wouldn't notice a difference unless I was printing out 20x30 pictures or doing extensive cropping.

Still don't want to downgrade just to get a camera that is about 25% smaller.

B/c my luck will be the first picture I take will need extensive cropping! :lmao:
Besides, sometimes we use Nick's pocket sized camera to get a shot somewhere where we don't want to lug the rebel (like the picture of Nick, Brutus and Scoopie at the OSU basketball game).....and the picture quality is "horrible" compared to the rebel! (of course, that's going from an 8 to (I think) a 3!!! :earseek: But it was amazing I got Mike to get the shot at all, no WAY I'd convince him to do it with the rebel! :)

How about THIS ONE! Not a minature, but I just know it will take great pictures!! :lmao: :cool1:

Yep we had Mark's bigger one (which is digital) on the 10 day. We got home and exchanged CD's and realized we missed a lot of great shots. That's why we got the smaller one. We had the small one on the Member Cruise.

See how expensive that group brunch was - between Mark and Virgil you are getting more electronics :lmao:

Seriously, check these two camera reviews. The Nikon P3 and the Canon S80

Yeah. The S80 is one that we are considering (at this point, it'd be my choice b/c it's 8megapixels) I'll let Mike know about the Nikon one, but we've had SUCH good luck with the Canon's it'd be hard for him to switch. :)

My bulkier digital is this one: http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/cpg_support_product.asp?id=644

Was one of the first to use a 10x(35-380mm) Zeiss optical lens, and has enough flexibility between the type of pickup and exposure settings that I could easily coax pictures in situations most other digitals then couldn't.

But not a good camera for just carrying around, works best as a tri or mono pod camera for specialty shots like a lot of the low light pics at WDW.

And actually our Canon SD400 is old already, this is the current model of it: http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelDetailAct&fcategoryid=145&modelid=13019 Has a higher optical zoom than the S80, which I really feel is more important than digital zoom.

Without a doubt!! I have turned off the digital zoom on the P&S cameras that I've had if possible. It just not worth having, IMHO.

Family style, they bring it to your table. The meat is served off of skewers. Try to get seated near the windows, as the family activities tend to focus on that end of the restaurant.
