Be warned, it's a loooong one....
The trip report on our 5/25 Western cruise on the Magic is finally on our website at www.castawayclub.com
Even with as long as it is, I feel like I've barely scratched the surface. Hopefully it will be helpful for future Western cruisers.
Enjoy!!

Well it's about time! ;) :)

Can't wait to read it! :sunny:

I just hope it's not too long & babbling. As I was writing it, I kept thinking of more and more. We are so used to the Wonder, so this was a totally different experience. It will be interesting to see how it evolves by the time we do it again.

It's not too long and babbling at ALL, I read every word last night! :)

I especially enjoyed your story about Palo and the little girl outside the window, LOL! ;)

Loved your trip report (as usual) One thing I was wondering was what was the mexicalli menu like? I assume everything else is the same since we went in December ( I would not mind some changes-especially the master chef series) but was curious about that. Ann

Barb...Loved your report. UH OH better watch out you don't get addicted to the 7 day Western itinerary. Could get quite expensive.

I would like to know about the dining rotation though. We had LAPLAPL, early seating and 7 adults and 6 kids ages 4-10. Were we on the adult rotation? I loved this rotation, wish we could request it again. Or does the adult rotation only apply to late seating. Also, is it true they are going to start remodeling the guest rooms?:D

Barb...your report was absolutely wonderful! I have gleaned so much wonderful stuff from all of them, but this one was particularly fun since it's the cruise we're going on in January!

Keep them coming! What would we do without you??:Pinkbounc

To answer the questions:
I don't have the menus in front of me, but if memory serves correctly, Mexicalli was almost identical to Tropicali. I thought there would be more Mexican selections, but it was still good (and we had excellent steak tacos on our Jeep Safari shore excursion, so I did get my Mexican meal).
As to the guest rooms, that is not confirmed, but it came from people who would know so I suspect it is true. I think it will be something like five at a time so it won't be disruptive.
LAPLAPL is the adult rotation, but that it not 100 percent true as a lot depends on the number of kids on board, particularly over holidays and on the early seating, which many families want, resulting in a higher percentage of kids. They don't guarantee requests, but it never hurts to ask!

Barb, glad to see that they have already changed the jeep tour
from geo tracker to a real jeep , that makes me happy
and great trip report... felt cheated on may11, 2002
cruise and let them know,
peter

Actually poor hubby was sad that they didn't use the Geos, as he cannot drive a manual transmission. I had a lot of fun as a passenger, but he was itching to drive. The people we teamed up with were really happy...it was a mother and daughter from California, and the daughter was thrilled because she got to drive the whole way! We saw other groups with Geos, so I suspect that they have both.
