5/24/03

i'm up for that. We'll be celebrating our 15th anniversary on the ship as well, though our anniversary is today. Our first cruise was on the Magic, and we were supposed to be actually ON the Magic for our 10th anniversary. But then the ship got delayed, and then delayed again, so by the time she was ready, and we could sail, i was pregnant with #3DS and Doc said, "no way, jose!"

So, our voyage on the fourth sailing of the Magic got pushed off to our 11th anniversary (a month early as we sailed over the older boys' spring break) instead of being on the ship on our 10th. :(

Since celebrating our 11th anniversary, we've celebrated our 14th and this time, our 15th. we'll also be celebrating our oldest's 11th birthday (though his bd is june 5). we have also celebrated our dh's bd and mil's bd on board. it's fun!

We took our first cruise almost two years ago to celebrate our 15 year wedding anniversary and my 40th birthday (DH wanted to throw me a party, and I said no way, it has to be bigger!). We truly thought it was a once in a lifetime thing, but here we are back again and no excuses this time!

But we'll be happy to help you others celebrate!

Congrat's to all the other celebrations!

We are celebrating our 15th Anniversary on the cruise too! We had wanted to celebrate our 10th by going on a second honeymoon, but we ended up in the hospital with a new baby! DD arrived the day before our anniversary.

And, since DD's birthday is also in May, we will celebrate that as well!

Still no docs...

Just realized it is April 24th... that means one more month :)

Our 17th anniversary is day after tomorrow... which was the original cruise date we had scheduled before rebooking... 2 years when we cruised, we didn't tell our waiters that we were celebrating anything, but the girls secretly made sure that they knew it was our anniversary.. so we were VERY surprised! Unfortunately, that was the evening/night the Magic broke down in port with no AC in the dining room, so it was a memorable anniversary.. lol!

Digital Mom.... still no documents for you? DId you have a room number already assigned, or just a category?

No docs. here yet either, and we have an assigned stateroom.
Technically it's only a month before the cruise, so it's not time to panic yet. Weve just gotten spoiled because the docs. have been coming early for the past few cruises.
Anyone else planning to go to Xcaret? That's the Cozumel excursion we are leaning towards, and this time we plan to wing it in Grand Cayman and Key West.
Anyone else planning to see the Catman and his Flying Housecats?

we got our docs, but can't find our excursions book now :( wanted to show oldest ds the dolphin excursion. he's decided he wants to do that as a bd present. guess i'll just show him what's on the website.

barb...what and where is catmand and his flying housecats?

Beth in New Hampshire,

We do have an assigned stateroom but I did see on another thread for an earlier cruise in May that some people still didn't have their docs yet and had booked thru Dreams. Webmaster Michelle replied to the post and said that since they had at least the 8 families it was considered a "group" and that the docs sometimes come out later for "groups" than for "individual" bookings. I guess I will try not to panic until it is a couple of weeks until sailing.

dizneykids,

We saw this show last time, and it was amazing! The cats jump through hoops of fire and do acrobatics. Anyone who is a cat owner knows what an accomplishment it is to teach them tricks like that, performed in a totally open area.
The show is free, but he requests a donation afterwards, so bring a buck or two (he also sells t-shirts and videos).

Hi all. Just got in from a long weekend in Cooperstown, NY. Four hours and a car sick dog (UGH!) later, and still no docs for us either!! (We waved to NYdiscruisers as we passed on the Thruway.) I should call and bug the travel agent again. We'll also be celebrating an anniversary on board (our 12th) even though it's really the week before. Sounds like there were alot of May Weddings.

Still no docs! We booked thru All Seas and they sold something like 60+ rooms on this cruise so we're considered a "group" booking. I read somewhere on these boards that "group" bookings take longer to receive the docs. Does anyone know if that's b/c of a Disney delay or b/c the TA needs time to sort out all of the many docs for their "group"?

I went on a little shopping spree and got the following items for the cruise:

- travel organizer (like the OTD shoe organizer but smaller)
- pure aloe vera
- papaya enzyme (for an upset tummy)
- travel size oxi wipes (to pretreat stains that my DD gets on all her clothes)
- power strip (for extra outlets)
- underwater camera
- cable ties (for luggage)
- lanyards
- chewable dramamine
- odor spray (for the bathroom)

I already have a few items like a nightlight, mini push flashlights, illuminated travel alarm clock, sunscreen, bug repellent, and a nifty collapsable cooler with wheels!!

Am I missing anything? I do have to pick up some sea life!!

We're looking at our pile of stuff as we read this. We've got:

1) Disposable cameras for DD's
2) Underwater disposable cameras
3) Safe Sea
4) Sunscreen
5) Over door shoe organizer
6) Collapsable cooler
7) Bubbles for sailaway party
8) Walkie talkies
9) Hats
10) Watertight bag
11) Extra memory for digital camera
12) Hand sanitizer
13) Disney bucks from Grammy and Pop-Pop
14) Travel document wallet
15) Film mailers
16) DD's lanyards and pins
17) Too many new clothes and shoes for DD's, DW and DH
18) Coupons (Grills, Radisson)
19) Confirmations (Radisson, car, Capt. Bryans, Honey Suckle Farm)
20) Extension cord with multiple outlets

P.S. DD's are dissapointed that Powers that Be didn't stop and visit with McTavish. Their motto is, "A carsick dog is better than no dog."

Definitely bring a clock.. unless they've changed it, no clock in the room. We brought a little digital one and kept it on the desk area.. seems to me that we used an ext. cord for it. Plastic zip lock bags (the big ones) are great for many things, too!

i agree on the clock. i found a digital travel clock that glowed when touched at night, then faded. much better. though i still like to get the call from mickey in the morning!

i'm sorta behind the 8-ball in getting ready. i've finally cleaned out the guest room so i can start filling it up, though. it really makes more sense to do it a bit at a time rather than crunching at the last minute when the kids are under foot and getting-out-of-school activities start closing in.

so far, all i have is the safe sea and walkie talkies set aside. i've got a pile of ironing and button-sewing facing me. guess i better get to it!

received confirmation yesterday in the mail for Dolphin Discovery in Cozumel and Glassbottom Boat Tour in Key West.

Did anyone notice something terrible happening to our countdown clocks!?!? I won't believe it for a minute!

...what am i missing? what's wrong with our countdown clocks?
