5/22/2008 Wonder Cruise!

Great Pictures! I will have to pick out my best ones and put them up on a hosting site. I saw that you had a couple of pictures with Rachel in them. We stopped and talked to her on the way back to the ship. I thought she was great in the shows. Especially her portrayal of Sid and Cruella de Ville. Lots of energy and her expressions were priceless.

I sent you a PM about e-mailing the photo I mentioned.

Thanks,

Well, thanks. I did not filter them, so you are seeing all. Including the ones that my DD took, like a local, a fish and some art.

Rachel was amazing. My DD is into theater so, we made a point to find her.

Hey all...:)

Just wanted to pop in and say a quick hello. It's been a busy post-cruise with the whole family here at the house. Sunday we were lazy and hung around the house and pool - we were all quite burned, too - but went to Downtown Disney and then snuck over to the Grand Floridian to watch the MK fireworks and have Mickey Bars. Today we actually went into the Magic Kingdom. Rachel and crew all leave early in the morning.

Had a great cruise, though much too short leaving us trying to cram everything in. My family did rebook for 11-7-09 to St. Croix/St. Thomas, but that date is always subject to change, and to be supplemented with another FL Resident Rate cruise (or two??).

Loved meeting everyone! And we loved the FE game.... our first time doing it. Thanks so much to everyone for the wonderful goodies - stickers, candies, magnets, hats, toys, mickey tags and so much more!

My DW and I especially liked the Donald Duck "I Don't Want to Go Home" and the "DCL Addict". :rotfl2:

Glad you enjoyed those.... but must give credit where credit is due. Those are compliments of generous DISers from the Creative DISers board.:thumbsup2

What a great experience!!!! Will definitely be back, as a matter of fact DD and DW started a 'Next Cruise Fund'.

The kids loved the FE gift, thanks to all and sorry for the family in 5122, went there twice and were not able to drop off our goodies.

I am glad to see that I am not the only one who has started the "Next Cruise Fund"!!! We had alot of fun but it was so short. I hope to take the kids on a longer cruise before to long. Mike and I are on the 5 night in Sept.

I am also burned. Mostly my face!! We parasailed at 9am and then went to Serenity Bay. While at Magic Kingdom on Sunday I got the most stares. I started to just make a sign to carry that said.....Yes I got burned while enjoying myself at Castaway Cay!! What is your excuse??.....

We made it home around 7pm last night. It was wonderful meeting all of the ones that I did meet. Wish we could of had more time together.

Everyone stay in touch!!

Pam

For all of you early birds...

What time did they let you into the cruise terminal?
Then, what time were you actually able to get on board?

We are planning to use a car service for our next cruise to arrive a bit earlier. (It will also be cheaper for the four of us ;) )

We got to the terminal parking lot about 10:15am and got front row parking. We unloaded and went directly into the terminal. I think we were on board by noon. I was standing near Donna and Rachel when they called our number so maybe they remember. We did not wait to long.

Hope that helps!

We arrived "late", by our standards, at about 10:45am. Just TRY getting 12 family members dressed, packed up, kids' hair done and out the door! :tilt: Rachel and I were going nuts while the manfolk looked on from a distance. They know better than to get in our way by now!!:tiptoe:

It took us all of about 10 minutes to get through security and then check in. We got Group #4 for boarding but we were called right around Noontime, I think. We spent the hour or so in the terminal meeting up with some DISers, taking pictures with Captain Mickey, picking up pagers for the kids' club, etc. It was perfect timing.

Thanks Pam & Donna! :thumbsup2

We have been busy planning our next cruise. (A favorite passtime right after we end a vacation) I think we should arrive at WDW two days before sailing, car service over to the port, sail, and car service back to WDW for one additional night. (We get off the cruise Halloween Day 2009). We will head back to WDW for Mickey's Halloween Party!

We arrived at the cruise terminal about 2:00 PM and were on the ship at 2:49 PM. We felt a bit rushed to settle in before the Lifeboat Drill. The DCL Bus didn't leave the Boardwalk until 12:45 PM.

Definitely give the car service a try and arrive earlier. There's a yummy lunch as soon as you board and then plenty of time to arrange (or rearrange) dining and Palo ressies/spa ressies, confirm kids' club registration, find your stateroom, decorate your door, possibly unpack, meet your stateroom host, explore the ship and get the kids in the Mickey Pool all before the Lifeboat Drill. (And yes, we pretty much did all that!) Then you can enjoy the Sail Away Party and know your cruise is in full swing!
:cool1:

We have finally made it back to Nebraska. We spent another 2 days in Orlando after the cruise. I think I need a vacation to rest from my vacation!

Ditto on the sunburn. I'm so sore! Luckily I work from home or I'd be tortured today.

Thanks to everyone for the fish extender gifts! Riley was so excited everytime we went back to the room. He couldn't wait to see what was in the pockets. He wants to start this at home. He wanted to know if the neighbor had put a present on the doorstep :rotfl2:

We didn't rebook on the ship, but are definately thinking about a longer cruise next time. Three days is not enough!

Great to meet you guys!

...Ditto on the sunburn....

Even though I'm Spanish, I'm a wimp when it comes to the sun. We use BullFrog Surfer Formula Gel SPF 36 1/2 hour before departing and then at 1pm. It worked for all of us.

I want to see some pictures. popcorn::

I just got all our pictures downloaded onto my computer.....between my 2 daughters and myself we took over 1700. That is alot for a 3 day cruise and 1 day in the parks.

I will try to post some soon.

Wow - GREAT pictures! :thumbsup2
You managed to find many times when spots were quiet and empty!

Oops! :bitelip:

Unintentional I assure you. As you may recall, it was kind of dark down there and I had to use a flash for that shot. I hadn't looked closely at that picture and didn't notice. :rolleyes1

You and DD look good in the shot, right? :thumbsup2

My DD (Megan) looks like she's sleeping. :faint:

DD (Sarah) is fascinated by the Conch. I love her expression.

Was it your DW and DS in the picture with the giant grouper? It looked like one of your pics and that one (PIC_113) were taken at virtually the same time.

I took an early morning walk one day, and a late night one the next with DD Sarah to get the picture without people. :cool2: Sarah and I explored the ship while Beth and Megan were off together. She decided where we went. It was actually great Daddy daughter time.
