Hi Darwin91.....that is too funny. I actually have pics of the guys in the thongs on Orient Beach that I will post....hope they are not Dis'ers!!! At least their faces are not visible!!!

Kevin....that older gentleman was very funny!!! I was so happy for you when I saw you and your DD up on stage!!! I kept whispering to my group....I know him, I know him...from the DIS board...Again, I just got the "look" from them all. They will never understand!!!!

hey mmouse37, did you go to orient beach on your own or the disney excursion. we have paid for the french rendezvous orient beach excursion and i was wondering what the lunch was like that they provide and if there is any shopping close by.

trobert....we did it on our own via taxi.....there really is no shopping at all near Orient Beach that I have seen. We had lunch when we got back to the ship.

I did bring a collapsible cooler with some bottled water in it and some cereal boxes from Topsiders to munch on.

At Orient Beach:
There is a souvenier shop right by the bar at the beach. It is kind of behind the open air bar area. We also brought some water, fruit and muffins with us and then had lunch back at the ship.

MJ, I always love your trip reports! One of these days, you and I will *finally* end up on the same cruise!!

But now I am stressing so bad about the cat. 11... I hate giving up the Nav. Veranda we're always in... but I keep trying to tell myself that the cat. 11 won't be so bad. I mean, it's just my little boy and I, and I keep telling myself that hey, at least we'll be on the ship, but I hate feeling so enclosed and I use that veranda a *lot*...

I think I had better make plans to rob a bank between now and February...

Thank you for a great trip report. I am going to be going on that same cruise next year,,July 24, 2004.. It wont come soon enough, but in the interim Ill be WDW for the Halloween week.

Hey Gina...a Cat 11 will be fine for two people. I would even book one again if it was only hubby and I.

It was just that trying to fit me, hubby, my 6'1" son and 5'8" daughter with all the luggage and clothes was a bit much. Honestly...you will be fine!! On our January cruise I asked one of the CM's how Powell was and they said fine. Big John from the Cruise Staff has left for good to go home to Wales, and Robin from Australia has also left for good, but we met some really nice new Cruise Staff this time around!!!

Wow, John's finally gone? That's so sad!! I'll miss him a lot. And I thought Robin was saying that he was going to the Wonder? Am I thinking of someone else? Hmm... well, was Ellen still there?? She was such a sweetheart this past time -- bad cold and all. She kept dragging me into everything like Powell and Kylie always did, so I wouldn't just hide in the corner.
I'm glad to hear Powell is doing well.

They always seem to find the neatest people for cruise staff. Can't wait to meet the new ones!

Hey Gina....John was onboard the 5/17 Magic and has been hosting Bingo since Robin left. Ellen had left for vacation the day we boarded I found out. I believe John left either last Saturday, or is leaving this Saturday....but I know it was very soon.

Did you ever meet Andrea from the cruise staff?? She is also from Austrialia and we met her this past January and she was onboard again in May..she is wonderful!!! We really enjoyed her energy....she was John's Bingo Bunny at Bingo and they played off each other really well. She was so happy to see us as we were the first family she has met onboard who has returned while she was there.

There was also Shi Shi from South Africa who we met on our January cruise. She is a sweetheart as well. They have Andy from Australia who is the one getting thrown in the pool in my pics and a new D.J. that I have forgotten his name..... D.J.L.A. is now part of the cruise staff and is home in Canada on vacation. He is coming back from what I heard.

We also met Quentin for the first time this cruise. He is from South Africa and is just a big teddy bear. He is such a doll. We met him while we were waiting on line for pictures one of the first nights and just interacted with him all week. He actually came up to us and thanked us for participating in so many things. He said it makes their jobs so much easier and fun when people are willing to get involved!!!

Remember Sean from South Africa??? (he usually played the nerd at 50's night....well he is now incharge of the Shore Excursions desk.

I can't think of anyone else right now, but if I do I will post!!! When you cruise, please tell them all how much we miss them and enjoy the work they do!!!

Hi There! Our family (6 year old twins) will be taking our second cruise in August. How did you find doing your own shore excursion? I understand you can save some money, but did you encounter any problems/ How much time did you leave to make sure you got back to the ship on time? Has a Taxi driver not returned at the appointed time? Did you go over to St. John's on your own? If you can provide some info on the "do it yourself shore excursions. Thanks
