5/17/03 Eastern Cruise.. Who is going?

I believe there are still a few category 4 cabins available. A full ship shouldn't be much of a problem. 3 of my 4 previous cruises have been full or close to capacity. The pools do get crowded during the days at sea, but other than that, there is plenty of room on the ship.

Only 10 more days unil we leave!!!

According to the Disney Representative I spoke to an hour ago, the cruise is SOLD OUT. I was considering upgrading to a Category 4, so I know that that catgory is definitely not available. You're right about the ship not looking crowded, but as I said earlier the Kids Clubs and pools are crowded.

My DH is turning the big 30 in two days! I will turn 27 on the 26th. There seems to be a lot of us B'Day people on board the cruise!

Only 10 days till we leave! I haven't started packing yet, can you believe that?

Man, I can't wait to sit out by the pool and drink a virgin pina colada (sp?)!

Help, I am having nightmares about packing. I am trying not to pack to much stuff but I am traveling with my husband, a 3 yr old and an infant. There is just so much I need to pack for the baby. Is it true that there is curbside check in at the port? I have no idea how we are going to manage all of our stuff. We have 3 good size pieces of luggage, 2 small carry-ons, a diaper bag and another bag. Along with the 2 kids and a stroller. Please help has anyone gone through this? If so what did you do. I can't wait to get on the boat so I can relax and not worry about my luggage. See you all very soon.

Don't sweat it. You'll be fine. I was on a Disney Cruise back in January. I was travelling with my 5 year old son along with a friend who was travelling with her 6 year old son and 5 year old daughter. I had 2 large suitcases, 2 large carry-ons and 1 small carry-on. My friend had 3 large suitcases, 3 large carry-ons and 3 backpacks. You would have thought we were going for a month rather than a week. It wasn't a major problem at the airports. One of us stayed with half the luggage, while the other one moved the luggage. After the large suitcases were checked, we only had to worry about the carry-ons. Don't count on curb-side service at the airports as security is very tight since 9/11. Some airlines allow it and some don't. If you are using Disney Transportation, some airlines move the luggage for you once you get to Orlando. When you get to the Cruise Terminal, you check your luggage at the curb.
For our May 17th cruise, we're using a Limo service in Orlando, and they will meet us at Baggage Claim. Needless to say, we will be packing much lighter this time. We had to fly home from St. Martin in January due to the Norwalk Virus, and it was a nightmare with all the bags. I doubt you'll have that problem and between you and your husband, you shouldn't have a problem.

Yes, there is curbside check-in at the Port. How are getting to the Port, with DCL transfers or are you booking a town car, or rental car?

If you have DCL transfers then DCL will handle all your luggage from the airport to the ship.

If you rented a car for the day you would have to return your rental and then take the shuttle bus to the Port. I am not sure if shuttle buses or even town cars for that matter are allowed to pull up to the curb anymore....the could, then they couldn't, not sure if they can again...I hope so or else we have to lug all our stuff from the parking lot to the curbside check-in.

Anyway....once at the curb of the terminal the porters will take all your bags and they will be delivered to your room. Just make sure you keep anything you will need with you in your carryon.

I am actually going to post a thread about the shuttle and town cars at the port and if they are allowed to pull right up to the terminal.

we are driving to florida and will be staying at thr Raddison. We are using their shuttle to the port. I believe they drop you off right there.

We always used to use the baby carriage as the cart for some of the luggage and carried the baby. It just seemed easier. Whatever you do, don't worry...you are on vacation!!

I can't believe how excited I am. I am more excited for my second cruise than for my first!!!! I believe that is because I know how much FUN we're going to have !

Can't wait to meet all my new DIS buddies. The DH is actually looking forward to wearin his lime green mickey!!!!!

Wonder if anyone could tell that we are excited? Went to city hall today to get my sister and niece's birthcertificates. My sister has to get a new one each time she leaves the country. She always loses them. Oh well, one step closer to the ship!!!
It's been raining here again today. Seems we get 1 or 2 days of sun, then the rain comes again. Maybe the sun god is waiting to give us 7 great days.
What's the official word on the Dis Meet? Looks like we will be seeing a lot of you at the Raddison Friday night.

Squiggle is right--this is our fourth cruise and I'm remembering all the great memories from past cruises & it makes me even more excited about this one because of all the fun I know I'm going to have at my favorite places--so many!!

UKAngel--have a wonderful wedding! That day will go by so fast, just try to take a deep breath, slow down your heart & your mind so that you can remember every second of that special day!! Three & a half years ago my daughter (I LUV DISNEY CRUISE) got married & that day was absolutely perfect! Donnebres, we are the same age but you are way ahead of me with grandchildren!! I LUV DISNEY CRUISE is giving me my first, & with the last ultrasound we saw the baby moving--I'm so in love with that little one, I just can't imagine how I'm going to be when it's born!!! You're so lucky having so many grandchildren!

I can't concentrate very easy at work--I'm constantly checking the DIS board. Looking forward to being at the Radisson pool Friday afternoon Hope to meet a lot of you all there!!

Congratulations on your 1st grandchild. I think that we have all made the baby our honorary godchild. It's so exciting. Mine go from 10, being the oldest, to the youngest of 5, a set of twins and Matt. Today I get to sit for 4 of them while my daughter in law goes to work. It's only a couple of hrs till my son gets home. By then I will be crazy. I love them all to pieces, but they really wear me out.

Single didgets ha? Can't believe it. It seems like a long, long time ago that I booked. My sister had actually booked last Feb., and I am tagging along.

OK guys, now I'm really ready for a vacation!! Last week at work was very busy & frustrating & this week isn't much better. Trying to get caught up & ahead but I feel I'm spinning my wheels. Can hardlly wait for the 16th to be sitting by the pool drinking a wonderful mixed drink & just chilling!! And then the next day ready to get on the dream ship vacation!!
