After trying & trying to get a table for the Luau, finally got one for the 5:15 show in June. We will die from the heat?

If it helps, you're under a roof so at least you probably won't be in the sun.

And they will have ceiling type fans. YOu should be fine....just stick to water and not alcoholic beverages.

Nah. We've done the 5:15 in September, with heat indeces ranging between 105 and 115, and we made it out alive ;)

Hopefully in June, the quick, predictable afternoon thunderstorms will have arrived and will cool everything off in the afternoons. These storms can be a double-edged sword, tho. If they happen every day, I love them. They cool everything off. If they're sporadic and not happening regularly every day, they can have a sauna effect.

Wear light clothing (both in color, as well as material). When we went, we didn't go straight to dinner from the parks. We chose MGM or AK or some half-day park to do that day, so we'd have time to return to our timeshare, hit the pool, freshen up and return to the Poly. We were fresh to start with, not dripping wet from sweat and already hot.

I do remember the wait being hot. They herd everyone in this courtyard with little to no shade, right in direct sunlight, to wait to be called. Once we were seated in the restaurant, with the appetizers and icy waters already on the tables, the fans going full speed, it wasn't bad at all.

Hope you enjoy!

Buy each one in your party a Neck Cooling Tie.
I saw them for sale on Ebay. You soak the thing in
cold water for 30 min. and it can stay cool for up to 72 hours.
If you have a fridge in your room you can put them in a ziplock and
keep them in there until you go out.
I'm going to by one of these ties for each person in our family
and we will wear them in the parks instead of hauling around one
of those mister bottles of water with a fan.
They are reuseable. Enjoy the Show!!!:thumbsup2

72 hours :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

I know you're not personally making that claim -- the company who puts these out do -- but they only stayed cool for us for four hours, max. We used them in that September trip I spoke of earlier in this thread when it was very hot.

Also, the seams don't last long. By the second day of wearing them, expect to have little plastic bits and pieces (the stuff from the inside of the tie) on your neck.

Lastly, I, too, bought them for everyone in my family. Don't expect the guys to wear them. There was no way my husband and brother were going to wear a cute little neckband tie to a place where family pictures were going to be taken endlessly of them.

I did end up using the two that DH and my brother wouldn't wear on a subsequent trip since the ones I bought for myself and the other women in my family started falling apart so soon and had to be thrown away. They do keep you cool for a little while.

Sorry, I've never bought these and probably got the cooling lenght mixed up with the lenght that the crystal stay expanded.
You must have bought very cheaply made ties for them to do that to your neck and fall apart so quickly.
There are Sports Stores that sell them also and I wouldn't think that they would fall apart that way.
I was just trying to help, I guess there's nothing one can do to keep cool.
But trying every option, Can't hurt. :thumbsup2

i know this is a little off topic BUT i have done the luau at wdw and it is fine but for the same price they have one at royal pacific resort near universal (only a few minutes on i 4 that is GREAT...it is very upscale compared to the food at wdw and the food is polynisian(sp ?) the show is good too... dont get me wrong I LOVE WDW but this show is better for the money...
