5/15/2011 - Disney Dream 4nt Bahamas - May 15, 2011

We are a lesbian couple from Pennsylvania and will be taking our first cruise with our 2 year old son, Chase. We are looking to meet other couples (straight or gay) with children around Chase's age, so that he has a few friends to meet on our trip!

Me and my fiance will be celebrating our honeymoon on this cruise. We are then spending an additional week and a half at Disney world and Universal. I haven't been on a Disney cruise in about 10 years and I am so exciting about going on the Dream!:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

^^I'm in Baldwin, NY - we're neighbors :thumbsup2!!!

Welcome aboard to you and Huskers92!!!

May 16th is my wedding anniversary. Good choice of date! :)

Aw thank you! I haven't officially signed the contract yet, but our Letter of Agreement has been sent and we're scheduled for 10am, May 16, at Sunset Pointe- so we just pushed the wedding forward 1 day.

There's only 1 planner for all of DCL, and once I found that out I can't really hold it against her. I'm sure she's very overworked and doing the best she can. DCl needs to get her some help! I can't imagine how busy she must be all the time.

We are hoping to do a cruise next year. Granted it won't be the inaugural season, but it'll still be new to me! Haha.

The Escape just came together so quickly and easily, and Joe at DFTW has really gone above and beyond to make this wedding happen. The more I think about it, the more I like the idea. Sunset Pointe has a great view of the castle, which is where Ryan proposed, so it kind of seems fitting.

Thank you, I appreciate it. This certainly wasn't what we had in mind. It's been a rough few weeks lately trying to switch everything around, but it seems to be for the best. Our families like this idea even better, and they're saving quite a bit of money.

I promise to come back and post pictures! I'll post what our families take when we return, and when the MK photos come in I'll post the link and password.

Thank you- we really appreciate the empathy. Everyone had their hearts set on the Dream. I followed the Dream's development since she was first announced. It's disappointing to say the least.

Thank you so much everybody! You guys really are the best! I hope you guys have a fantastic trip. I can't wait you your TR's and photos!

Can someone have a Mai Tai on the beach for me? Haha! :goodvibes

Well you know the trip is getting close when you spend half the afternoon putting together your Ipod Disney Trip playlist instead of working. :rolleyes1

And of course, there's the building of the cruise/park stockpile. C'mon, fess up...who already has one going? :thumbsup2 I can't be the only one who bought a a 2-pack of sunscreen on sale and a gauze top in 30 degree weather.

Awwwwww, another May 2009 bride....did you guys enjoy your wet honeymoon as much as we did? I wanted to cry everyday we woke up to more rain!

Here's to a DRY 2nd anniversary!! :)

Oh, it was so WET!!!! It was funny at first but really lost its charm after a couple of days or so. Luckily, we had a 7-night cruise after WDW so that redeemed the honeymoon a little bit.

Guilty! I even bought a swim suit during our last snow storm! lol
Also been gathering FE gifts for close to 6 mos! Anything pirate or disney that gets marked down in the "party" aisle, is MINE! :woohoo:

Yay!!!
I ordered all my FE goodies last night for both back 2 back cruises. Just need to pick up a few different things for any other B2Bers that are on the 19th cruise... if they are participating.
No homemade gifts from us this year... with the fact that my oldest has been in hospital for the past 26 days and that we are up and moving jouse in 37 days.. I have way too much on my plate at the moment! EEKK!

I hope your child is better now. Sounds like you need a relaxing cruise for everyone to recharge their batteries.

We used to try to do it all and then needed to go home to rest up. Now we try to plan for slow times and enjoy resting. If we miss a place or activity it gives us something to look forward to and plan for. But it is not easy to travel that way--took us YEARS to learn and we keep forgetting. :rotfl:

I made a magnet of the cruise graphic--photo paper, cut it out, glued it on an advertising DVD with silver showing, craft magnets on ths back and put it on ths refrigerator. I made others of photo paper and craft magnets for our stateroom door. This one is for home only. Thanks again for the graphic--I love it!!

happy Sunday to all.

Hi branv! Please pardon me as I jump into your May 15th cruise thread to ask if you can help us out on your previously-booked May 8th cruise thread? I tried sending you a PM, but its still disabled. We'd very much appreciate it if you can please add this link (showing all the participants) in the first post?

Here's the link for the "Dream a Little Dream Registry": http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=40109335#post40109335

Sorry to the rest of you for hijacking!! :guilty:

Will do!

 we are paid in full now :yay:
we just booked the Excursion to see the marching flamingos in Nassau and parasailing at Castaway Cay for me. Tom thinks I will crash and he will have no live roommate for the rest of the cruise :rotfl:

this is getting so real!
The "cruise pile" is a portfolio with dividers. Magnets and other papers are in it. Cruise documents are on the refrig in a WDW magnet clip!! Clothing is a list on paper. When one lives in a condo, space for piles is severely limited.

You know if it rains during our cruise, we will be blamed!! :) Last year for our anniversary, we went to a local restaurant for a romantic dinner. It was so nice, but when we came outside it was pouring rain outside!! We just had to laugh (of course we didn't have an umbrellea with us)

Tomorrow night at 10:00 pm, I will be able to get online and book (what's left!) of our ressies. Keeping my fingers crossed for Palo Brunch, and Remy's Dinner on the 16th. Not too optimistic, and I realize in reality, we will be probably be getting to the port earliy, and standing in a long line on the ship, hoping there's something left to book.

Oooh, I got a new Lands End catalog with some really cut bathing suits in it I've been eye-balling!

Hey everyone - the roll call is updated now - we have some new friends joining in!

I will send out a preliminary roster with detailed info this week as well as FE exchange info so that those of you who are doing something detailed for cabins/kids will have the info you need.

On another note, how many of you are doing Beach Club Villas post-cruise? I seem to have noticed quite a few answers in the questionnaire... we are staying 5 days @ BCV and I think we'll probably see a few of you thereabouts :)
