5/15/2011 - Disney Dream 4nt Bahamas - May 15, 2011

After a day like today I admit I am conflicted about looking forward to the cruise.

On one hand it's a beautiful ship, it's Disney (I mean, HELLO), amazing service, beautiful scenery.

And then you have August 1, where we started mowing the lawn at 8 pm and it was still 97 degrees. An hour later, it's about 1/10th of a degree cooler, we're panting like dogs nearing heat stroke, have weird chafing in embarrassing places and fire ant bites that look like feet acne.

I'm half ready to hop a plane for the Yukon. Just call me Cornelius and get me a Bumble.

So sure...yaaay cruise. But to get there I have to rush through beautiful lovely fall and spring. Oh that is just wackaloon! I'm so torn! ;)

*sigh* oh well...it's nearly Autumn (okay, so technically here that's somewhere around November). I'm sure I'll recoup my tropical spirit somewhere around then. Though it could be as early as tomorrow if I can find that recipe for my favorite DCL drink. Funny how well that works to put things into perspective... :rolleyes1

You'll do fine....May's not that hot! Just think, cool ocean beaches, frou-frou drinks. And best of all.....NO FIRE ANTS or mowing the lawn for four days!!

We just got back from the Baltic Cruise and we have booked this cruise nad the 5/19 one for a B2B. We are Donna - Computer Programmer, Joan - Pharmacist, Sandy - Retired Interior Designer, and Sarah - who will just have graduated from Law School. This will be our 9th and 10th cruises.

Sounds like a great group!! Hope to meet all the DISers on the cruise!

HI everyone! :yay:
Newbie.. to here and DCL!
We are a family of 5 going on this cruise! We are so excited to finally be doing this!
It's myself, my husband and our 3 little girls ages 8, 7 and 4. We're going a week before our youngest's 5th birthday and while it's not really a "birthday" celebration cruise as we want to keep it special for all of them... we decided to do this now to kind of mark a milestone for our family .... out of baby, toddler mode forever! LOL

Looking forward to reading through this post and meeting everyone.

Right now we're in a family oceanview under GTY.

The kids have been to WDW twice and we're planning DL in 2012. (waiting for TLM ride and Carsland) I've been to both many times, but never have enjoyed it so much as I have with my kids!

Welcome aboard to all!!!
So far our cruise meet group has a lot of couples and adults traveling without munchkins so it is nice to see some more kiddies coming. Especially girls in the younger groups from my dd Madigan!

Hi there! My daughter will be turning 9 on Castaway Cay day of this cruise! I'm sure she'd get along great with your girls :) She's a big fan of Disney Channel and all things Disney. I am hoping they can do something fun for her on board the ship to celebrate her special day.

Welcome aboard! Nice to see more people joining in :thumbsup2

Speaking of kids, I guess you guys with little ones are in a frenzy of getting ready to go back to school. I was at Target the other day and it was slammed with stressed-looking mom's with long lists ;) Technically I am also back-to-school shopping, but that's for DH who for SOME reason won't let me buy him a sparkly Tinker Bell folder. "Just index cards and mechanical pencils, dear, that's all, and no I don't need a Cars thermos either." Phhht, he's no fun!

So I bought the folder for myself and all my WDW/DCL planning documents.

But OH, that reminds me! Bubbasmom, did you ever find out if your school was going to switch to a regular school year?

Welcome new peeps!! :rotfl: Still not seeing much interest in FEs? I'll be more than happy to coordinate it, if there are some people that would like to participate!

We're still year-round this year, so that won't affect this cruise. No word yet on 2011-2012, but since my son is headed to junior high, which is a traditional schedule, we won't be planning any vacations except for during the busy season with everyone else!

We just switched to this one from the following weekend. I hope the weather and water will be good. There are 8 of us ranging from 9-60. Can't wait.

Have at it! :) I coordinated on our last cruise so I am happy to let someone else take a turn... We are going on the 2 day cruise to Nowhere in January so I can't plan past January at this point. Only one obsession at a time allowed!

We'll do FE but trying to get it organized is hard until until after Xmas... too much to think about before now and then... plus we are still 9 months out til we cruise and other people will hopefully join use by Jan/Feb.
