This is the best reason if you just “must” fly in the day of, you should be booking air and transfers to the port through the cruise line.

And insurance. ALWAYS insurance!!

Couldn't agree with this more. If these people had booked their own transfers or flights, they would have been standing at an empty dock where the cruise ship used to be.

On our Wonder cruise in March we also had a very late bus arrive after the sail away party.

Most likely.

I think they weigh the cost and ability to get the people to the ship after it gets to the next port vs paying the extra fees.

It also depends if there on DCLs flights and transfers. In which case the ship most likely knew where they were and waited. If you booked on your own, its yoyo time
