Good Morning! We woke up with the sun(how can you not on this beautiful morning). I immediatly went out on the verandah. A few notes about our verandah. I think the cabins are a bit backward in the sense that the beds next to the verandah were the kids beds so everytime I opened the door, they were blown away. As soon as I opened the door, Hannah woke up. She and I went off to Deck 9 and get coffee and danish to bring back down to the room. That is one of my favorite times on the the ship bc no one is really awake at that time. I did have room service coffee coming but I was awake before room service started delivering. Hannah thought it was cool that I let her come with me in her jammies! By the time we got back Daddy and Katie were awake eager to start the day. We had adjoining cabins with our friends and by 7am our door was open so the girls were playing excitedly together. Pat and I decided that carrying (4) trays at Topsiders was not my idea of a vacation so we never ate there for breakfast. This was the first cruise that we ate breakfast in the dining room on every sea day. We took the big girls to Lumiere's and left the little girls with Patty and Mike(who are not morning folk). They ate our room service. The girls used their fancy restaurant manners. One note: the pancakes, waffles are kind of dry. My daughter doesn't like syrup but I mentioned to her that she might want some for these..... My husband and I were surprised to see the "bar" cart so early in the morning but hey, we are on vacation. I ordered a bloody mary and my husband had a mimosa. The waiter asked my how I like my bloody mary and I said hot. He left and came back a few minutes later with a little tiny pitcher of hot sauce, which of course ended up in my bloody mary!!!! HOOOOTTTT!! but yummy! After breakfast we changed into our suites and headed to the Mickey Pool! Yes, it was windy and yes, it was crowded but we forged on and had a wonderul time. One thing I have to say is that Pluto's dog house had one of the best chicken breast sandwiches I have ever had. They had little packages of honey mustard sauce for it. We ate there almost every day for lunch. I didn't want to put shoes on and go thru the topsiders line most days. I know others were sea sick on this cruise, but we (a group of 10) had no ill effects at all just messed up hair from the wind. I didn't even know it rained the night before. I guess that is cause we were asleep so early. The day is kind of a blur at this point, but a few things I know. My little one wanted nothing to do with the club. We tried to take her bc we bought tickets for wine tasting that afternoon. My friend and I dropped the big girls off no problem, the little girls took a bit more coercing. Mine just didn't want to stay. I was prepared to stay with her and forgo the wine tasting but my husband insisted that I go since wine is "my thing". So I didn't argue and went. It was in sessions and it was run by a team of the ships Sommalliers(sp?). It was extremely informative and worthwhile. My favorite was the Iron Horse Fairy Tale Cuvee created specifically for Disney. After the wine tasting, we went up to the room to find Daddy and Katie taking a well deserved nap! It's formal night so we began the "get ready" process a little early today. We had brought wine, champagne and liquer on board so our room had a fully stocked bar(we even brought our travel martini shaker). We opened another bottle of champagne and toasted to our wonderful friends and the trip. We were ready by about 5:30-trying to dry 2 girls hair while their friends are right next door presented a small problem. But I got them ready and we were off for pictures. They looked beautiful in their full skirted silk dresses. I know I went overboard on the formal night dresses for them, but hey they turned a few heads in the process..... We had a family portrait taken and then just one of the girls. It was awesome. We couldn't have paid for a better "sitting". Can't wait to see them tomorrow.
Again, Inyo was waiting for us to carry the princesses to their seats. They were very well behaved in their pretty clothes. Katie insists on going to the bathroom as soon as we all get seated which is kind of a pain but she's 3, she'll grow out of it. I forget what we had that night exactly, but I know I had the deep fried camembert fritters AND the escargot. The salad was the one with Balsamic, Hazelnuts and bleu cheese and I had the snapper for dinner. Again the fish was wonderful. The escargot and the camambert fritters were awesome. We ordered a bottle of wine(Patty and I- which also is becoming a pattern) that we tasted earlier in the day.... After dinner was the Golden Mickeys. I always knew my girls would like Broadway and they loved the live show. It was so cute. The girls were happy to see the princesses were in the show. Both stayed awake for the entire thing. Surprising, since it was about 100 degrees in the Theater everynight. My husband had a Crown Royal Manhattan and we settled in to enjoy the shoe. Back to the room after, and right to bed.
It was a bit windy and the ship was rocking. A tip, for those of you with young kids. Watch the edges of the pool when the ship is rocking. I can see injuries when little bodies get tossed around and hit the side. Also-the chair saving got old and I never hesitated to take a towel off a loungers. We didn't spend much time in any one place bc of the kids. Anway, wonderful day overall . Stay tuned for day 3......
