The Cast:
Me and DH - Reine and Paul, 50 somethings
Mom and Aunt, 80 somethings, aka "the ladies"
DD the CM, Robyn, 24, meeting at the port

Well, I'm finally well and back to my trip report. I will probably be shorter since I've forgotten stuff...but then I tend to be long winded so maybe not.

12:00 ish. The lines in the terminal were long but we didn't have long to wait till they started boarding. Lines really went pretty quickly considering. The ladies asked DD how long it would take. She reminded them that she had never been on a cruise as a passenger so she didn't have a clue!

We got closer to the front and they opened up another line and motioned us through. I think they had pity on us because of the silver hair of the ladies. Whatever, anything that shortens the wait is fine with me. Through the Mickey Ears and to the spot for the Embarcation picture. (When I saw it, I decided that I looked fat but then who wants to face reality?) Then we were to the atrium and the CM was announcing THE TRENT family from Texas and Arkansas! How cool is that. DD said hi to several of her friends who were doing meet and greet and led us directly to Parrot Cay for lunch. We were escorted to a table and then had a wonderful buffet. Tried several new things. Sorry Rae, I don't really like the Mango Soup. Guess there's more for you. Can't really remember what else we ate but it was good and breakfast was a long time ago.

1:30 ish. We kind of lingered over lunch since we had our carry ons with us so by the time we were finished eating and went out on deck for a few minutes we could get in our rooms. Checked out both rooms and decided that we needed to swap who was in which room since the one assigned to the ladies was further forward so we figured subject to more motion. Also it was sideways and seemed to be more open for three of us than the regular Cat 11 midship. So DD and I went to guest Services to get the room assignments changed. They actually didn't change the "primary" person in each room but did change the charge cards and the other folks and give us additional key cards so we could access the room we were staying in. Sounds complicated but really wasn't and solved the problem of having the right folks in the right rooms.

Went by Sessions to get ressies for Palo. Didn't want to miss the first night in AP so scheduled a brunch on Sunday. Went up and checked out the Spa. DD is interested in the Rainforest room. Also purchased Butterfly farm excursion tickets for St. Maarten day.

Luggage started arriving so we began unpacking.

3:15 Went to the Goofy pool for our DisMeet to get to know all the folks on our Cruise Meet thread. Jason and Travis (Three Circles) had made name tags for everyone so it was great to put names to the faces. Had to introduce Robyn the CM on vacation to everyone. Really made the rest of the cruise more fun since we would see folks around the ship and could say hi.

4:00 lifeboat drill. Really not a big deal. Went really smoothly but you do get REALLY friendly (close) to those around you. Didn't have to wait much for folks so the drill went pretty quickly. Then off to the room to stow the lifevests under the bed before heading back up on deck for the sailaway party.

4:30 Sailaway party..DD led us to deck 10 and to watch. Was kind of cool watching the ship move away from the terminal and hearing the Horn.

6:15 Collected the ladies to go to the Welcome Aboard Variety Show. That was fun. Then back to the room to finish unpacking before dinner.

8:30 We had APLAPLA rotation so our first night was in Animator's Palate where we met our great servers Subhash and Constantin. DD had never been in AP for the show so she enjoyed watching all the changes as much as we did. The lobster and shrimp wrap was delicious. Good food, great service. But then, that's what I expected.

10:30 I think we're some of the last to leave the dining room but it was so relaxing to just enjoy our food with no rush...and the deserts.........ummmmm.

The ladies and DH decided to call it a day but DD suggested a trip to the hot tub. Great idea. The hot tub at 11:00 is WONDERFUL. Especially after a busy and stressful day. Really helped me wind down.

Back to the room where DH is already sound asleep for a quick shower and lights out. Rock me to sleep Magic...ZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzz z z z z . . . .
