[WEDWDW]

I am thinking of going to WDW the week of 5-05-05.What will it be like in terms of crowds,special events,etc.Will Cinderellabration,Soarin' and Lights,Motors,Action! all officially open on 5-05-05?Also,what was Disneyland's official opening date?Thanks.

Not sure about the WDW stuff but DL opened on July 17, 1955.

I was there for Walt's 100th birthday in 2001 and most of the special events were for invited guests only (the media). They did have cake at MGM and an appearance by Michael Eisner and Roy Disney, that was it for the public. The media however had special after hours parties.

Soarin and Lights, Motors, Action! are both scheduled to officially open on 5/5/05 to coincide with the worldwide Disneyland 50th celebration. However, I thought I had read somewhere that actual press events at WDW will occur a week or two after 5/5.

While this entire celebration is occurring worldwide, my guess is that the main focus will be cast toward Anaheim on that date. I doubt you'll see Michael Eisner making an appearance in Orlando while the park in Anahiem is the reason for the event.
