We have 7:15 ADR at HDDR but are going with DS6 and DD4, and elderly parents who can't walk much. Should we keep this time because it's in category 2 and less stairs for my parents, or switch to 5:00 and be in category 3 but be earlier for the kids? We also were thinking of doing the campfire the same night if we do the 5:00 show. Is this too much in one night for the kids? HELP!:confused3

I would do the 5 PM show with little ones. You will eat dinner around 5:30 PM.
You will be out of the building by 6:20 PM.

If you do the campfire - bring some bug spray (you will need it).

Have fun !

It would certainly depend on the mobility of your parents, with the category 3 you will be up in the balconey. Will they be okay with the steps? If so I would switch to the 5:00 show.
I know kids stay up longer while they are in WDW, but how will your 2 be with eating at 7:30 or later and then not getting out of the show until around 9:00 ?
We are going to the HDDR the first week of Oct and we are taking a 5 and 7 year old and I booked the 5:00 show for us, just because I was afraid they'd be tired and not be able to enjoy the show.

I have the same dilemma. I have a 1 1/2 year old and a 4 year old and we booked the 5pm show in category 2 (we are on the ddp). I keep going back and forth... and for a week or so I've been trying to get the 7:15pm show, but no luck. What time do your kids nap? That's the reason I've been wanting to switch to the 7:15pm show... the baby naps at 3pm-ish for about an hour or so... I thought it might be cutting it too close to the time we have to leave for the show (3:30pm since we are at Saratoga Springs). I have visions of going with a REALLY cranky baby LOL. What have you decided?

Also, what is the campfire?

My kids 6 and 4 don't nap any more, except on special occasions like exhausting days at DW! But after much thought, I switched to the 5:00 show, since they wouldn't eat until 7:30 at least and this just seemed too late after a busy day at the parks. We got a category 2 for that time as well! This way if they aren't exhausted, they can do the campfire. FW has a nightly campfire/sing-a-long/smore making/movie watching thing at @7:30. It is free to all staying at DW resorts, except they charge for smore making kits. I thought we could do the EMH that morning in whatever park and be back at the hotel by noon for a short swim and a nap. Hope it works out for me and for you too!:cheer2: BTW, keep trying and calling for the time you want. When I called a few days ago they didn't have any openings at the 5:00 show for category 2 and today they did.:woohoo:
