$5.00 back..?

Hi I was wondering if any of the Hotwire members have any experience with buying resturaunt gift certificates? I wanted to know if there are exclusions, and also it states order 25.00 gift certificates and recieve $5.00 "back". What does "back" mean exactly? Do they take it now and refund it another time or is it deducted at time of purchase?
I would like to order some for family members for x-mas but do not want to get into a situation of restrictions or anything like that.

Hotwire charges your card the full price when you buy them and then the following month, they give you the credit on your credit card statement. So you must keep the service for at least 2 months in order to get the $5's refunded to you. Hope that makes sense!

I ordered an Outback Steakhouse GC a couple weeks ago, and received my $5 credit already. I was pleasantly surprised.
