Hi Everyone - My son (who turns 4 on November 12) and I will be flying down to Orlando from Massachusetts late on November 11th. Late on the 12th we will be meeting up with my friend and her son that will be coming in from Michigan.
I was thinking of "saving" our days in the park until my friend and her son get there with us.

Can you give me some great "non-park" ideas that I can do with my son for his 4th birthday?
I was already thinking about:
a character meal at Chef Mickey's
I heard about a campfire at Camp Wilderness (but not sure about the timing of this and if it would be better to watch fireworks instead)
renting a paddle boat somewhere
anything else you could suggest.......

Thanks!

Julie

PS - he is a GREAT pirate fan at the moment
(I have checked out the Disney's Pirate Adventure as an option, but they are sold out the days that we are visiting)

My little boy just turned 4 yesterday. We were at WDW this summer. I tired to make the campfire but I was too late, we did see the movie that was shown after the campfire. It was Pinocchio. I thought he wasn’t paying attention but after that he noticed Jiminy crick as he called him on all the signs in the room and he recognized Gepetto and Pinocchio in the parks. DTD is a good place to go my little guy loved playing with the Mr. Potato head pieces at once upon a toy. He also liked the playground areas there and they have some rides that you have to pay separately for a train and a small merry go round that he and his little sister really loved. They both liked the Rainforest cafe but that depends on the child because it can get loud with the rainstorms in there.

There is the Kids Adventure in Cooking at the GF. I don't know if he'd be into that or not, but I saw some boys coming out of there with decorated chef hats and cookies. Also, if you don't mind going off site, there is a Pirate Adventure Dinner show in Orlando.
