Since we are limited to only 3FP+ pre-trip, I am interested in your thoughts of which FP+ to choose ahead of time if you were in our shoes. We are planning on going to MK for one day only, and will likely take a nap break in the middle of the day and return to the park early evening.

How tall is your 4 year old? Would he want to do the mountains if he is tall enough? Are you willing to split or do baby swap or do you want to all stay together? If you want three rides you all can do, I might choose Buzz, Peter Pan, and maybe Dumbo. If splitting is ok, maybe the Mine Train in place of one of those or if he is willing to try it, BTMR. With the additional PF after you use your three, I would get all your FP in the morning and try to get some additional ones after your nap. One other thought, while we are big fans of afternoon rest periods, with only one day in the park, I might try to push my luck and see if your little ones might nap in the stroller and try to get a bit more into your day. You of course know them best and if you think the really need the nap to function, by all means go for it.

Definitely Peter Pan. That ride can accumulate quite a long line! My DS4 LOVED it. He would have been thrilled to use 3 FP's on that ride alone.

Thanks! I don't plan on exposing my older son to the big rides yet - so we will probably skip them. We also definitely plan on doing baby swap! So Peter Pan for sure it is!

what about FP for the fireworks/parades? I am really hoping to stay for the fireworks (which means late bedtime for them) so I think nap back at the hotel is a must - unless it's not worth staying?

I wouldn't waste an FP for the fireworks. With young children you never know how they will react to them. I was afraid of fireworks until I was at least 7, and now I enjoy them. My dad said he'd never take me to firework shows when I was really little because some shows I would like them and other shows I wouldn't.

I also don't recommend Buzz Lightyear. That ride might be kinda hard to handle when you're holding a young child. I do recommend Peter Pan for sure, like PP suggested, and probably Pirates of the Caribbean. For the third I'd do either Dumbo or The Little Mermaid ride-it's similar to Peter Pan but the animatronics are stunning

Peter Pan, Buzz Lightyear (14 month old LOVED it), maybe Jungle Cruise or Pirates of the Caribbean or Mickey Mouse meet and greet. Dumbo can be done without a FP+ because of the play area/waiting room they have.

I would vote for Peter Pan and jungle cruise. Pirates of the Caribbean may or may not scare your child. It scares ds since it's so dark and has a small hill in pitch black but he loves buzz lightyear. We can't do much but he likes the colors.

We went during spring break this year and was able to ride everything first thing in the morning except Peter Pan had long wait times. We only tried kids rides though because ds is 2. We went before you could add FP Slots so we made ours for early afternoon.

Winnie the Pooh is pretty good but tends to have a long wait and I would highly recommend the Fp for the electric light parade. My 2 y.o loved it! I think it really helps with viewing for the little ones

Based on my 2yo ds favorites, I'd choose Buzz, Jungle Cruise and Peter Pan. Then I'd try to make a 4th FP for Dumbo.

Just about all of Fantasyland would be good for your kids. My 2.9 year old son loved Peter Pan, Aladdin Carpets (similar to Dumbo), Winnie the Pooh, Belles Meet and Greet thing, and Pirates of Caribbean. My younger son who was almost a year went crazy for Its a Small World. We rode Its a Small World and Aladdin Carpet multiple times bc they liked them so much. Electrical light parade with good seating is a must! But I am biased with that bc it was my favorite 20 years ago.

We went mid July last year and got to do almost everything we wanted. We knocked out about all of Fantasyland at park opening with minimal to no lines and then literally walked on Aladdin, Jungle Cruise, and short line for Pirates of Carib near dusk. Only issue with that we sacrificed a good spot for parade (that someone graciously let my son and me go near the front with them so he could have a good view) but a fast pass could solve the parade issue and let you take advantage of smaller lines before parade comes.

Thanks for all you suggestions! Will they let us do the baby swap on rides that don't have height restrictions? I didn't think I was going to bring my 19mo on a lot of the "flying" rides. In fact, I never thought he would be able to go on any of the rides but now I am thinking perhaps he could go onto dumbo or something?

Baby Swap is really for just kids not tall enough to ride the ride. They used to be a bit flexible with small children who met the height requirement but were scared to ride. I have noticed however lately that they are not doing even that very much any more. I really doubt you would get a swap on a ride that has no restrictions. You would just have to take turns.
Is there a reason that you do not want to take your toddler on the rides? Any ride that he can go on would be safe and most toddlers really enjoy the rides. Many are simply boat rides, or simple moving vehicle type rides and your little one can sit on your lap on beside you with you supporting him. Barring any special needs, your family can share and enjoy most rides together. I think the entire day would be very frustrating if you don't take him on the rides. Maybe do a bit of research and see what the rides are really like.

yes we definitely plan on bringing my LO onto the slower rides like It's a Small World.. but probably not rides like dumbo or peter plan etc. He's extremely squirmy and won't sit still..

nobody mentioned meeting talking Mickey!!! that is the best use of the FP+'s, you get to walk right in, maybe waiting 2nd or 3rd at most in line. Mickey talks and interacts with you! It was priceless.

Wait, where can you meet a talking Mickey!?!?!?

Lol he is awesome!! Magic Kingdom...right when you walk in the park.I believe it's the Town Hall? Or across from that? I can never remember the name. Look up the attraction on the website, it's a character meet you won't want to miss!

My DS 5 & DS7 were blown away. :)
