For anyone that is looking for smaller planning pages...I just made a bunch! They are a little on the plain side, but being so small there isn't room for a bunch of clipart.

I still believe that you should make an 8.5x11 planning binder as you need lots of room for notes, changes, additions, deletions, etc. and on a 4x6 card there is no room for making changes. The 4x6 cards (in my opinion) are better for during the trip when you don't have the space to lug around a big binder, most everything is set in stone and you need something small that you can throw in your travel bag.

Anyways...sorry for running on. They are all in my 4shared folder in the link in my signature. Then look in the "travel planner pages" file and the "4x6 travel pages". There are photopass pages very similar to Natalie's...thanks Natalie for the wonderful idea and layouts! I wanted to make a space at the top for binding so I copied the idea but made my own. I also included Kathy's (Mickey's Best Girl) park planning pages and changed them slightly again to add binding room at the top of the pages.

I'm still going to make my big binder for the planning stages, but will use these for the actual trip as I tend to fly and there isn't a lot of extra space for my big binder. :goodvibes

One more thing...I loved the DISign that Sumlthomp made for her 4x6 travel book. So I made similar front and back cover pages that you can print out and decoupage onto chipboard and then take to a print shop to have bound.

Or you can buy a small binder and put everything in it if you aren't crafty.

Hello,

I could scream !!! I can print on A4 paper but cannot print on the 4x6 - any idea how I do this ? :lmao:

Hello,

I tend to print most things in word so that I can see them all together. There are two ways to do this. First save all of the images by clicking on the thumbnail, then when you see a popup click on the "download" button and save the images as a jpeg to your pictures.

Option One:
• Open up a word document and set all of the margins to “.5” inches.
• For the travel pages, journal, daily highlights and favorites set the orientation to "landscape". You will have to set up a separate document to "portrait" for the photopass pages and Kathy's pages.
• Then go to "insert" and in the drop down menu click on "picture" and "from file". Then find the images you want to insert in your picture file, hold down your control key (on the keypad) and click on all of the images you want to insert into the word document and click on "insert".
• Next you will want to put a space in-between each image.
• Then click on one of the images, go back up to the top of word and click on "format" then in the drop down menu click on "borders and shading". Make sure you are on the "borders" tab and on the left side of the pop up box click on "box" and click "okay". You will want to do this very every image.
• Then print on 8.5 x 11 paper and the lines will give you a guide to ensure that each image is the right size.

Option Two:
• Open up a word document and go to “file” then in the drop down menu click on “page setup”.
• In the pop up window, click on the “paper” tab and under the top where it says “paper size” it will probably have (letter, 8.5 x 11 inch). Click on the down arrow next to the paper size and scroll down until you find “borderless photo 4x6”. Then click on the “margins” tab and make sure all of the margins are set to “0”. And finally set the orientation according to the second bullet in Option One.
• Then go to "insert" and in the drop down menu click on "picture" and "from file". Then find the images you want to insert in your picture file, hold down your control key (on the keypad) and click on all of the images you want to insert into the word document and click on "insert". Now your page is set to 4x6 and you will need to precut the paper or buy 4x6 blank index cards. Most printers will not print all the way to the edge of the paper unless you trick the printer into thinking it is printing a photo…then it will print all the way to the edge. I’m not sure why they are set up that way, but try it as it should work for you. At least it does with all of the printers I have owned and/or used.

I would suggest using cardstock for all of the pages in this project if you are going to use chipboard and make the entire binder yourself. As you travel with the small binder and you will need it to hold up during your trip. If you plan on putting these pages in a dayplanner that zips up, regular paper should be fine.

Hope that helps!

If you want to see what sumlthomp's book looks like...here is a thread:

Here is another thread with dayplanner pictures. I like the one on page 2..it is Kathy's (Mickey's Best Girl) and I have some of her pages in my folder but there is a link below for all of the pages you can download. Her dayplanner is 5.5x8.5 inches:

Also, if you need additional pages...here are some places to look. Although the downside is they are not set up with a 1/2 inch binding allowance at the top/side of the page like mine are.

Natalies (restaurant and where I got the idea for the photopass pages):

Kathy's (great planning pages in 4x6 and 5x7 for 3-8 plays of planning):

I will bow to your advice and experience and go with the larger preplanning book and use the smaller one for when we get there.

And I don't think your pages, look plan at all. They look great!
