Hi,

We have booked a 4x4 with Alamo - flying into Tampa.

Does anyone know what model of car we will be offered?

I really want a big "American jobby" - not a Japanese or Korean one like we get over here.

Do you get a choice with Alamo or is it just "first come - first served"?

We used alamo from tampa a couple of years ago and were given a dodge durango - http://www.dodge.com/en/durango/index.html . We were very happy with this, so hope you get what you want

Hmm, I would not call the Toyota Landcruiser or Mitsubishi Shogun a small car!

Alamo let you choose from a range situated in the bay for the class you have chosen AIR.
It will depend on what they have in those bays at the time you arrive.

Which class have you gone for?
Alamo have
Compact SUV
Midsize SUV
Standard SUV
Full Size SUV
Luxury SUV
Premium SUV

as classes of SUV. It willd epend on which you have gone for!

Alamo's "standard SUVs" are Chevrolet Trailblazers which aren't all that special to be honest. We always go with Dollar and get the Grand Cherokee which is marginally better.

Hi,

Yes it's very nice. We normally go for the minivan but fancied a change last time and went initially for a full size 4 door as I wanted to have a car rather than a people carrier.
However, Virgin instead booked us a Premium size vehicle (we were not going to argue) and I really liked the look of the Pacifica.
Nice car , plenty of room in front and back plus loads of luggage space too, would recommend one.

Last year I got a Pontiac Torrent as a standard SUV from Alamo at Sanford, I really liked it, you can see one on the general motors website.
