4th of July

How busy are DVC resorts for the 4th of July holiday and the week surrounding it? Would I have a hard time booking 7 mos out?

Through the waitlist last year, I was able to get studios at BWV for the 2nd and the 3rd of July at about 2 weeks out. At first there was nothing open, but I didn't care where I stayed and Member Services helped me put it together. One night was even Boardwalk view! I would think if you're patient booking at 7 months and using the waitlist if necessary would work out for you.

We switched at 7 months from BWV to BCV, July 4th week, 2BR, with no problem, and actually later split our reservation to 1BR/studio at 5 months.

I don't think it's an especially busy time for DVC. However, the parks themselves.....

Yes, the parks are wild on the 4th. In particular, stay away from the Magic Kingdom. This summer they offered a special Wishes performance a day early to try to draw off some crowds. On the other hand, the crowds let up a bit starting the day after. We stayed at BCV so that we could watch fireworks and walk back to our room on the 4th itself and our trip worked out well.
