Out of all the holidays, we haven't been to WDW during 4th of July. Is it as crowded as Christmas week?

We would plan on watching the MK fireworks on the 3rd. (checking out on the 4th to go home). We currently have Bay Lake booked for the convenience factor to get to MK, but the points are so high.

Will we be sorry, and regret fighting the crowds from the TTC if we change resorts to save points this weekend?

you don't get into mk thru TTC - the resort buses by pass it.

really think you need to stay at BLT or at least VWL - would not go further away.

bus transportation is fine to most of the places but the MK is far away.

also there will be crowds that is a given. but it is heat and humdity that is the killer.

so the closer you are to home the better you will feel.

I've been to MK twice during the 4th of July week. It is usually most crowded the 3rd to the 5th, but the crowd levels on specific days may depend on when the holiday falls. I recommend staying at BLT so you can walk to MK since the TTC will be very crowded. If MK reaches crowd capacity, they close MK and sometimes other parks to those not staying in a Disney hotel or villa. It will be very hot and humid!!

July 4th week is the second busiest week of the year at WDW.

Magic Kingdom is almost as crowded on July 4th as New Years Eve. But the big, big difference is the heat and humidity. The fireworks are amazing, but not worth going through that misery a second time. I would also recommend staying close at BLT.

We stayed at BLT this past July for a week over July 4th. It was our first time at disney in the summer and we loved it. I love the heat, so that was not really an issue. We always had plenty of water and took breaks in the air conditioning when the kids needed it.

We watched the fireworks in MK on July 3rd and on July 4th we were in Epcot. They were sooooo amazing. My husband and I agreed that they were probably the best fireworks we will ever see. We loved it so much that we booked another week at BLT next July.

It was busy and some of the lines were long, but it didn't seem that bad.
We used fastpass as often as we could and if something had a really long line, we went on to something else. We go a couple times a year so we don't have to run around and do and see everything. They also have longer hours in the summer, which we like. Night time at MK is great.

Good luck with your plans.

everyone should experience the 4th fireworks at disney at least once!! Once we watched them from the Poly beach, which was the best!!! GO EARLY!! It was an awesome atmosphere!! Afterwards we walked over to the food court at the GF, got a little bite to eat, then got on the monorail back to the Cont. That way we let some of the crowd die down. Last year we watched them from TOTWL and while the view was good, it was not AS good as viewing them face front like at the Poly beach!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

went in 2002 - first July 4 after 9/11 - we went to Epcot first - saw their fireworks and loved it.

then go on the monrail - the kids wanted to go to MK then - but decided to watch from the Polyn (where we were staying) - they were great.

you can see the entire display - which you can't from inside the parks.

since then BLT - and boy you get an even better view of the fireworks from TOW.
