4th of July Question

I just read where they ID people who want to watch the 4th fireworks from the Poly beach. We were guily of planning on doing that! I did not know it was a problem. We thought about getting dinner at Captain Cooks and sitting on the beach. We really do not want to fight the crowds of people to be in the park. We are staying at VWL. Any other ideas for fireworks viewing? We have thought about O'Hanas for dinner, but what time are the fireworks at? We also thought about renting a pontoon boat and going on the lake, but I bet it is too busy on the lake! I am running out of ideas! Any one have any ideas? Any ideas what time fireworks are at? Thanks for any info and ideas!!!

Since I've never been to WDW over July 4th, I'm just going to bump this query back to page one for you.

We were at Disney on July 4th in 2001. We were staying at the Contemporary. We went to O'Hana's to eat that night and then went out on the beach to watch the fireworks. They were not ID'ing people then. I really can't see a way that they could do it. It was very crowded but it was awesome. We plan on doing the same thing this year.

We were there last year on the 4th. No id checks. As Tinkerbell stated, I don't know how they could do that since people are coming and going so much. We have been there 3 different times and had a great time with all the people. We sat down with a blanket about an hour before. By the time it is about to start it is crowded but a nice family atmostphere.

I talked to a few CMs and they said they bring their families there to watch the fireworks - which are spectacular.

We even stayed at the Poly one year on the 4th so we could watch the fireworks and walk back to our room ---- that was the year the fireworks were cancelled due to the wildfires!
