So we will be going July 1-8 to the Anaheim area, my sister lives in LA and is meeting us at DLR this weekend we are kind of stuck since my sister works during the week and wants to do DLR with us.
So anyhow, the plan is to do MM Saturday hitting FL rides etc, then break for lunch/ pool break at hotel. Then dinner at Napa rose and head back in park for a couple hours ( we are traveling with 18 month old so won't stay until close unless he is happily sleeping in stroller) Next morning we will head in park opening lunch break and WOC later that night.
So for the fourth, I am thinking about not heading to the park until about 3pm? So DS will get sleep and be able to deal with staying up late (potentially) 2 nights in a row. We would just do shows, parades and "filler" rides until it is time to stake a spot for fireworks.

So for those who have experience on the 4th, is 3 pm a good time to head into the park. I expect the night to be crazy busy but my mom NEEDS to see fireworks ON the 4th. She will not budge!

Just know that there are times when Disneyland closes to new guests on the major holidays. July 4th being one of them. You may not be able to enter DL at 3 if you haven't already been in that day. I would enter the park earlier in the day just to make sure you can get back in. This even applies to AP.

Hi! Not any help for your questions...sorry. Just wanted to say we will be there at DL the 1st -6th. Hoping crowds don't overwhelm us.

I am hearing conflicting information about capacity. From what some people have said, I should not worry about it until later at night? Others have said it hasn't reached fulll capacity on the 4th. Has anyone experience full capacity at DLR on the 4th?

We'll be there too! I'm curious as to what the crowds will be like since we have only ever been during low season.

I hope the question about capacity of the 4th is answered from those in the know.

Just to clarify...if you go to DL during the day, then leave for the afternoon (with a stamp), then return later in the day - you'll be guaranteed to get back in even if it's at full capacity?? can you be turned away at that time?

Or do you have to physically be in the park when it reaches capacity?
