We currently have YC LV/PV booked for the 4th. I was planning on taking DD (18mths) to Fantasmic on the 4th but then realized it may be too "dark" for her. I was able to get a Fantasmic Dining Package so we'd have priority seating FWIW. I'm considering switching to GF Theme Park View so we can be near MK for Wishes and the special 4th of July fireworks. Then DH and I can enjoy the second round of fireworks from the balcony while DD sleeps. SAB and the construction at GF has me leaning towards YC. We will be at BC next month (June) for 5 nights and the YC again in January for the WDW marathon. Thinking I should mix it up!?!?! I can't get DH's opinion b/c he just wants me to plan it. Thoughts?

ETA: What about Fort Wilderness?

That's a tough one as they are both great resorts (we haven't stayed at the YC, but have stayed at the BC and have visited the YC many times). I think I would go with the GF, if for nothing else, for a change of pace since you will be at the BC in June and then the YC in January. The GF is a beautiful resort and the new splash area by the pool looks great for kids and like you said, it would be great for you and DH to sit on the balcony watching the fireworks once your DD goes to bed. I think the GF would be a good fit for what you're looking for this trip. Good luck.

If you are going to be staying in the resort on July 4th the the GF is fun fir families. So many activities and so many old fashioned kid friendly things. We loved being there playng games. I also think the new alice in Wonderland splash area looks great for little girls!

Thank you so much for your feedback. Asked DH this morning and we're switching to theme park view GF for the 4th. I had no idea there was an Alice in Wonderland splash park. DD is going to love it! We could barely get her out of Nemo's Reef on the Dream. Going to hunt down a ressie for 1900 Park Fare now. Have a beautiful day!
