We will be in the world from June 28th until July 7th. I was just wondering if we dont go to the parks on the 4th(I know they will be extremely crowded) where is the next best place to comfortbly watch the fireworks from? Do they have fireworks over the water at DTD? Epcot probably has fireworks as does the magic kingdom( we were thinking of staying at the Poly for the fourth but are trying to cut costs if we are not fortunate enough to get in on the codes.Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks Mimimom

We avoided the parks on the 4th when we went. We went over to the campground had lunch, bought tickets for the evening fireworks wagonride and played at the petting zoo. It was a very relaxing afternoon, but you have to get there early to get tickets. They had 3 wagons and it sold out fast.

The wagonride was wonderful. They parked down by the lake and the view of the fireworks were fabulous. They even piped in the music. It is a thought if you are looking for an alternative to the parks!

Last year we spent the 4th of July at DTD and EPCOT. We went shopping during the day at DTD and it was very crowded but not too terribly bad. Then we went to EPCOT around 6 pm. Future World was open late and it was surprisingly empty. There were a lot of people there to see the fireworks (which were awesome) but, again, it was not too terribly bad. The hardest part was trying to all get out of the park together after the fireworks. We stopped and did some shopping while the more agressive "guests" fought their way out. All in all, it was a very lovely night and no where near as crowded as I had imagined.

We were at Epcot 2 years ago over the 4th. We waited until about 4 to hit the park and found a spot later to watch the spectacular firework show. It was crowded. However, I agree if you don't try to rush out you will be better off. :wizard: Getting to the park at 4 allowed us to walk onto nearly every ride there. It was awesome!! We are going back this year the July 2nd -9th and can't wait!!

Last year we made a 6:30 PS for Ohana at the Poly. Had a great dinner and then wondered out to the beach for a great show iun the sky. With a PS you can park there with no problem.

EPCOT fireworks sound great for the 4th of July (of us to do in 2006).
One more reason for us to stay at the Dolphin.

You can WALK from the International Gateway to the Boardwak, Yatch Club, Beach Club, Swan, and Dolphin resorts.
Better than crowds on a bus or boat.
The walk is very nice an lit up at night. Not very far - maximum time would be 20 minutes to wlak back to a resort.

On a non-4th of July night we did this to the Dolphin from EPCOT. We first stopped at the Boardwalk and picked up a quick snack before heading back to our hotel. A very relaxing way to end a magical day ;)

We checked in on July 4th at the Poly last year and wow was it crowded. I do not think everybody had a ps for Ohana or Kona Cafe that day. The beach was packed !!!!

When we are there over the 4th, we spend the day at DD and the pool. We always have a PS at Narcoossee's at the GF and watch the fireworks from the veranda of the restaurant. Only guests who are dining at Narcoossee's are permitted on the veranda (they actually have people posted by the entrances). The double-sized show over the MK is spectacular and you're not in a crowded environment.
