4th of July at Universal question

What does Universal do for the 4th of July? I read something about live music at citywalk. Does anyone know who will be preforming? We will be there with four 18 y/o girls. Also do you think they would enjoy universal more on the 4th or disney? TIA

there is always groups on at Citywalk, there is a 4th July blowout where they have music and childrens entertainers on as well as a cookout but you need to buy tickets for it ,they are around $10, starts at 6pm to 10pm and you have better viewing of the fireworks.

Four 18 y/o girls should love it, the music, food, and fireworks have been excellent every year that we have gone on the 4th . A good location to view everything from is on the balcony of Margaritaville, i believe it's a little bit more expensive though. Hope this helps

I'm wondering if it is necessary to purchase the closer seating. I read something about bringing a blanket to sit on? Is the cookout only available to the people in preferred seating? I did read about a buffet at Margaritaville on the 4th. Did you go to it last year and if so how was it? TIA

The cookout and preferred seating is only available to those who have purchased tickets, as it is closed off to everyone else.
